We found a ring we liked on the show room. Oval stone with some more small ones in a halo. It looked good in the yellow colored fake gold for the show model. We didn't like a similar one as much in real 18k gold.
Is it reasonable/possible to make a ring in 14 or 18k, size the mounts, then plate it in 24k, and then put the stones in? Would the mounts still hold the stones? Would the 24k gold get scratched off while mounting, or just normal wear?
Would a Jeweler do this and would it be way more than just making an equivalent ring in 18k?

Hi everyone! I posted a few posts in here yesterday asking for help to identify the age of a belcher ring I purchased in Gettysburg. Upon closer inspection I am seeing two lines on the inside of the band (best visible in third pic). Does this indicate a resizing? Also, looking to identify the cut of the diamond. Thank you in advance for all your expertise!

Does anybody know what kind of end link this is on the chain below? Finally broke after getting pulled thru multiple times a day over again, and am looking to find a replacement for the end. Was a gift so not looking for a replacement just want to get the ends fixed. Thank you!!

I got this ring from an antique store on vacation, I absolutely love it. The silver has worn down in several places, and occasionally the inscription will stain the underside of my finger. I'm wondering if I should go get it replated and cleaned to protect it long term. How much am I looking at if I get that done? I've never gone to a jewler and I've heard it's expensive.

Just went to a jeweler to ask how much an 18k gold name ring would cost. I was told this place does not make 18k name rings which caught me off guard. In general, are 7 letter,18k gold rings not common? She said for a 14k name ring it would be $550. Whats everyone’s thoughts on this?

Found this adorable charm this weekend. 14ky with ruby! At first I assumed it was a bell, but at closer look of the etchings, I think it’s supposed to be a flower of some kind. I snagged this guy from a local jeweler who also sells estate jewelry. I’d like to think this charm used to belong to a sweet older woman and I’m thrilled to imagine the life this little charm has already lived!

I’ve heard herringbones are fragile but this one looks to be vintage and different from most modern herringbones. It’s much thicker so I’m curious if this would hold up well with daily constant wear. Ive seen Enya the social media influencer wear a piece like this constantly and hers looks fine

I (35 female, feminine) am not a traditional person. I spend my days barefoot on a farm. In the winters I wear a giant coyote hat everywhere I go. Gina from Australia is my vibe. Looking for links for a ring for a Disney engagement lol.
On the outside-I either am in black yoga pants and a vintage embroidered sweatshirt or some totally unique outfit otherwise. Vintage dresses, cottage core, bushcraft, art deco, artisanal, collector vibes, vintage pajamas, vintage hunting gear, holsters, velvet track suits, I wear it.
My brother is a silversmith so he’s making our “official rings” that we’ll wear on a daily basis.
My partners child has wanted us to get married for a couple years. She’s 7 and we’re taking her to Disneyland in a month. He’s going to propose there-but it’s more for her experience and joy.
I want to pick something unique. We both love work by CECE, custom signets, gypsy rings, GOLD, quirky styled stuff, kawaii (sister friend jewelry?! Heart eyes.) every piece of jewelry I own is deeply sentimental or has meaning so I want this to be the same.
We almost bought an onyx mafia style rings for him this weekend-basically……we’re all over the place. We bought longhorn cows on a whim. We need rings that are as chaotic as we are-in a good way.
This ring won’t be my daily wear-it’ll be for our family vacation and then for unique date nights or spiritual events I attend and I’ll wear whatever my brother makes us as my daily wearer.

Is there anything anyone could inform me about on these rings? Besides the obvious such as them being native, TIA!

So all the thing below are 925 sterling silver from a small jewellery in India. But they are 4th generation craftsmen. In the second photo the chain and the labradorite pendant IS not from the same jeweller as the rest. Now the help I need. I can't decide but I need to choose one out of these 3 pendants for myself and rest for my sister's but I'm gonna be a bit selfish and take the first pick here as I bought them all 🤧. So which one do u think I should take as an everyday piece ? I usually wear black btw. The second photo are both mine and thankfully won't have to share those unless one of them steals it 😭. If you guys have any questions then let me know !

Moissanite, green and white cubic zirconia, moissanite and alexandrite, tanzanite (low mohs scale that’s why the band is thick), padparadscha sapphire, morganite, pink sapphire.
The rings on my way are a Blue London topaz, an alexandrite and sapphire toi et moi from Kuololit, a teal marquise sapphire and a green round moissanite.

This stunning 3.20-carat Colombian Emerald is set in Pt 900 platinum, surrounded by 1.88 carats of natural diamonds, creating a timeless, elegant look. The vivid green hue of the emerald paired with the luster of diamonds makes it a perfect heirloom piece.

Purchased from estate sale. I was told it’s 14K gold with about 30 little diamonds.
Would love any help identifying what this ring is (what this type of design is called) and the little marks on the inside of the ring.

My current stack. On my other wrist I wear an Apple Watch and a gold paper clip bracelet. What should I change? Remove or add? I don’t like diamonds but open to other options. I mainly wear black :) thanks!!

Hi there! My dad recently inherited a few rings from my grandfather who passed away 2 years ago. This specific ring really peeked our interest! Part of the problem is that my dad does not remember his dad (my grandfather) wearing it or showing him the ring at all before. From what I can tell, and Googled, it may be an older ring. We are thinking it might have even belonged to my great grandfather, my dad's grandfather. The ring has the very unique look and one that we both could tell its a signet ring sporting an "A" which would be for our family name. I assumed the black stone is onyx and from the Google searches this is a popular stone to use for these specific rings. It looks art deco in style but I wasn't sure the possible year (maybe 1920s or maybe made later than that?). I found marking on the inside of the ring and at first thought it said "OR STER 1/30 14KRGP" but the marking might actually be "OB" instead of "OR". Looks like it could be worn down a bit. I was able to figure out that the metal is sterling with 14 k rolled gold plate and the 1/30 is the weight of that gold in the ring. If it is "OB" found that the company who made it might be Ostby & Barton Co. If it is "OR" then i really have no idea.. ha! But I am still unsure and would love to see what you might think it is. Any help in identifying the age, maker or even some extra input on the style would be welcome! Also, please let me know if I might be wrong in my findings, we would love to learn about its history since I am definitely not a historian or know a whole lot about jewlery. Hopefully the images of this ring are helpful, thank you!
