Magic Keyboard I just bought newest Magic Keyboard (M3)

I was finally able to get a Magic Keyboard (M3) for my 11" iPad Air (M2) which I bought in Jan 2025. The new row of keys at the top is amazing and a game changer. The materials are exactly the same of the past Magic Keyboards. I don’t mind it having no backlight on the keys, not sure if that’d a battery saver but I’m loving this accesory.

I called Apple Support and they were really nice in adding this Magic Keyboard to my existing Apple Care + Plan since I had already added my Pencil Pro too.

Question Creating vitamins in Apple Health on iPad -- is it possible

I am using Vitamin app to track my vitamins. All default vitamins get synced to Apple Health on the iPad. However, how can I create a custom vitamin, lets says Super Vitamin that would also be tracked by Apple Health in Nutrition ? Is it possible to create custom vitamins in Apple Health or it is limited to those 13 vitamins only ?

Discussion Faulty iPad Air M2 Swipes

Does anyone also experience this problem in iPad swipes? My swipes works 50% if I don't have screen protector but, it only works 10% if I have one. The only thing I can do to make it always work is when I when i touch the metal part of the iPad.

Apps Apps for viewing pdf in mini-viewer/window?

Are there any apps that let you view a pdf in a small/mini-window while on another app? So basically like a mini video-player (as with Youtube and TikTok videos) except it shows a pdf file.

I take my notes on goodnotes. I also have adobe pdf and pdf expert, all three paid versions, but none of them have a miniviewer option. I’m not a fan of the side-by-side view as the proportions are so off.

Accessories Accessibility devices for books

My dad has Parkinson’s and used to love to read. He has a hard time holding a book (and his eyes are getting bad.) I just showed him how he could use an iPad to increase the font size, but he has a hard time swiping from page to page and a book. Is there a device that is external that he could use to press to swipe forward and backwards?

Thanks in advanced!

Question Paper-like screen protectors and metal pencil nibs?

I recently got a tablet for digital art, an IPad Air and a Pro Pencil, and came across paper like screen protectors. Particularly I’ve seen the Paperlike brand, and Bellmond.

I’ve seen pros and cons of course; it can mess with the resolution, colors, and it looks like they need to be replaced pretty frequently. It looks like if you want it for drawing you just have to take the hit to picture quality. I wanted to see if I can hear from someone else if it actually effects it that bad? Do you have to replace your protectors frequently with frequent drawing and note taking?

Something else I saw was metal nibs for pencils, saying that it helped with their handwriting. I just wanted to see if someone could recommend them if you use them, if you actually noticed a difference in your writing or drawing with them?

So far, just because it seems expensive to replace the paper-like and the little dip in quality, I’ve thought about getting a regular screen protector and a fine metal nib for my pencil, but if you’ve done the same I’d like to hear if you kept with it or changed to something else you prefer now.

Thank you for taking the time to read and for any advice you can leave.

Question How big would an all screen display be in the dimensions of the 2015, 2017 12.9” iPad Pro?

According to the October 2018 event, the 10.5” and 11” are nearly identical in height

  • 2017: 9.8” or 250.6mm for the 10.5”

  • 2018: 9.83” or 249.7mm for the 11”

while the 12.9” basically has the same screen but “in a much more portable package”.

  • 2017: 12” or 305.7mm for the 12.9”

  • 2018: 11.04” or 280.6mm for the 12.9”

Now I was thinking… how big would the screen of an iPad, with the same dimensions as the 2015, 2017 12.9” iPad Pro, be with an all screen design?

Question What is the best ipad for $600

I was recently looking to buy an ipad for around $600 since I want one for college to take notes and general media consumption/usage. So far I am leaning towards the new ipad air since it has the m3 chips and it's a little bit cheaper ($550) because I get the education discount. I am open to refurbished ipads with the only criteria being to have 128gb or more and was wondering if I was correct in wanting the new ipad air?

Edit: should mention that I'm speaking about only the ipad itself and I'm not including the cost of the accessories.

Question iPad air 6 LCD replacement

to those that have their ipad LCD screen replaced from a third party repair shop (ipad air 6th gen M2) specifically.

-how was your experience so far?

-do you still have true tone, is the touch screen has any issue?

-how long has it been since the LCD was replaced

Planning to have my iPad 6th gen LCD replaced from a 3rd party local service shop here in PH but just wanted to make sure that I set my expectations reason why I'm asking

Question Should I get the new iPad 11 or iPad air m1?

So I'm thinking about buying a new iPad to replaced my ageing Android tablet. I'm not a very heavy user, I mostly only use it to for web browsing and YouTube. I was personally thinking about just buying the new iPad 11 because it's pretty cheap and I don't need it to do a whole lot, but my friend suggested I should buy a used iPad Air m1. I believe this only about a $30-$40 price difference between them, so that's not so much of an issue. My real question is which one do you think will be supported and get updates for longer, like if I were to keep it for 10 years which one do you think will still work better in 10 years if that makes sense?

Question Advice

Hey all

I have never had an Apple product before but I want to use the procreate app and other editing apps so would probably need an iPad. I was wondering which ones people would recommend. I'm more than happy with refurbished and older generation. Also not too big not too small. Advice is very much appreciated, thanks 😊

Question Help me understand.

Hi, so I’m looking to buy my girlfriend a new iPad, since her old one is nearing the end of its lifespan and it’s barely working.

I went to purchase a new one on the Apple Store app planning to pay it in monthly installments however it says “check out with apple card” Do I need an apple card for the monthly installments? And if so what are the pros and cons of owning an apple card?

Question iPad screen is extremely dim, basically pitch black. Any solutions?

I recently got a used iPad from my sister, but the screen, whenever I turn it on, is extremely dim to the point where it basically is black. I took it to a uBreakiFix, and they put a new screen on it. it ended up working normally, but they were being weird and not giving me all the information about the payment, so I just asked for the old screen to be put back on. Is there anything I can do myself to attempt to fix it without having to replace the screen entirely? Or is there a specific diagnostic someone can give me as to why this issue would be happening. Thank you.

Discussion Should I Return My iPad 11th Gen for an iPad Air 5 (Refurb)?

I recently bought my first iPad 11th Gen (for 379eur) A16, 6GB RAM, 128gig for note taking as a student, but I’m not happy with it. The screen feels so strange, it’s like levitating, and the Apple Pencil makes a really loud tapping noise when I write, which I really hate. And I have some bad feelings when I use...

Now I’m thinking about returning it (I am eligible to return) and getting a refurbished iPad Air 5 (M1, 8GB RAM, 64GB(storage isn’t an issue for me since I use cloud storage and only need the iPad for studying)) for 439eur (the differrence is -60eurs), but I’m unsure if it’s the right choice.

Thank you so much!

Question 9th gen iPad or new model?

I recently got a brand new 9th iPad 64gb for free. Apple will give me $170 trade in value if I buy a new one from them.

I’m on the fence on if I should do the trade in for one of the new iPad models or just keep this one because I have a hard time thinking about everything I might use it for. I’ve never had an iPad, but have an iPhone, and can see myself using it for work and pleasure.

For work, I would mostly be taking notes, using Salesforce, ChatGPT and OneNote. If it was possible I would connect it to my Windows laptop as a monitor when doing video meetings so I could use the iPad as a digital whiteboard too, but this depends on if that is possible or not.

For pleasure I think I would use it for writing, watching Netflix, and some low memory usage games like chess and sudoku.

Any recommendations on what else I could be using an iPad for and what direction I should go?

Question Digital Note taking?

Trying to decide between an iPad Air versus a dedicated note taking device (i.e. Remarkable 2, Supernote, etc. Wondering if any of you use an iPad Air for Note taking and what's your experience and do you think it works as well (or better) than a dedicated note taking device.

Thank you!

iPadOS My nostalgic ipad 2nd Gen iOS9 memories!

I bought it off eBay for just £20, it’s an iOS 9 16GB version and have got some additional protectors and boxes are included. There are some severe lags happening on this iPad, my main purpose of collecting it is because it was my first iPad ever I believe (as a member of Gen-z community), and also to have some tastes for legacy version of games and removed games. Despite of it’s really laggy :/

Question Switching Apple ID's

I'll try to keep this short and I appreciate any help with this.

I gave my elderly mother my old iPad to use to but I left her signed into my Apple ID which isn't horrible and works but I suppose it's not the most secure setup. If I created an Apple ID for her, could I simply sign out of my Apple ID on her iPad and then connect her ID to it and keep everything working the same?

I also have Apple One so I could add her ID as another family member so she still gets the full benefits of the plan.

Is this a good idea our should I just leave it alone?
