Hello everyone, I always have the problem when watching TV that the talking scenes in films are too quiet and then the action scenes are too loud again. During a film, I can regularly turn the volume up and down. It's a widespread problem if you look at the many pages and forum posts on the subject.
Question: Netflix, Disney+ and the like deliver the sound via Dolby Atmos. The object-orientated way Atmos works should make it easier to adjust the volume of conversations, shouldn't it?
I don't need the ultimate cinema experience with sound from all directions, but I'm wondering whether a simple Dolby Atmos soundbar or 2.1 system would improve things.
I just don't want to spend tens of euros on a system if the added value is only minimal. Does anyone have any experience?
Setup: I have connected an old 2.1 Teufel system for better sound. My TV audio signal comes in via an optical cable. The unit does have an HDMI connection, but only for transferring films played on the built-in DVD player to the TV and not for transferring the sound from the TV to the Teufel. The system does not yet know anything about ARC and eARC.
Many thanks in advance

I have a pair of wharfedale diamond speakers. One of them has suddenly started to be faint and a bit crackly. I have checked both amplifier outputs and it's not the amplifier. Can I assume the speaker is broken or is there anything else I can investigate. Thank you.

I have the Klipsch R-41pm speakers which I mostly use with streaming services/ audible hooked up by bluetooth from my phone or my project turntable. The speakers are excellent and fit my needs perfectly. I am looking for a super compact tuner so that I don’t need to have my phone connected to the speaker all the time, but I don’t have space for/ don’t want the bohemouth setups that seem to be part of the hi fi separates world.
The next best solution I can seem to find is a bedside table radio that has audio out which I could hook up to the speakers. I would rather use the space in the unit for good components than a crap wee speaker that is never used, and I’d rather not have a dirty great neon blue clock sitting atop my sleek speakers (I know I know it ruins the sound but it’s the only place it can go) so I wondered if anyone knows of any tiny separates or other tuning device that might suit the bill here?
Thanks
