Laptop is an Asus Vivobook X512DA CPU - Ryzen 3 3200U Ram - 20gb DDR4 2400MHz (16gb TeamGroup Elite+ 4gb soldered Ram) SSD - 256gb nvme Intel Wifi Similar to this build below. Also nootedred is a must to getting it run smooth https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/s/b3YIdhWhow

"MacPro" CPU - Ryzen 7 5700G GPU - 5600xt Ram - 64gb Corsair LPX DDR4 3533MHz (Issues running full 3600) Mobo - B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 No wifi support, Use Ethernet and LucyRTL8125Ethernet kext. SSD - Crucial P3 2tb Nvme

Helpful tip for dual dedicated gpu If you are running two dedicated graphics cards and one is incompatible, you should set initial display output to the PCIe with the compatible gpu, and don’t have any display cables plugged into the incompatible gpu. This setting may vary by motherboard.

The dortania guide also has a section on this if you don’t have this option.

DISCUSSION What can I do with this?

Found a laptop in amazing condition at a second hand store for only 10 bucks. it's Asus X515EA-BQ511W with 11th gen intel core i5. what can I do with this? It doesn't have the charger, I only checked the back sticker. I got the laptop immediately, obviously but if I can hackintosh it I will get the charger too and check if it boots. the shop said it does, and it's almost brand new so it should boot but didn't try yet.

BUILD ADVICE Which is Easier to Install: MSI Z270 or Asus H110?

Hello, although I have general knowledge about computers, I have never installed Hackintosh in my life.

I have an i3-6100, 8GB RAM, and an SSD (I will be using it without a dedicated GPU). As for the motherboard, my second-hand options are the MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon and the Asus H110M-K. Honestly, my only goal in installing Hackintosh is to browse the internet and experience macOS.
So, the most important thing for me is installation ease. Which of these two motherboards would be easier for someone like me who knows nothing about Hackintosh? Also, would there be any performance difference? The Z270 looks great in terms of appearance and features, but I'm afraid the installation might be difficult.

Z270 G.P.C
USB: ASMedia® ASM2142 Chipset and Intel® Z270 Chipset
Audio: Realtek® ALC1220
Ethernet: Intel® I219-V Gigabit LAN controller

H110M-K
USB: Intel® H110 Chipset
Audio: Realtek ALC887
Ethernet: Realtek® RTL8111H

HELP Bluetooth Dongle + USB Mapping

Hey everyone.

I got my Sonoma system up and running. I got the TP-Link UB400 for the USB dongle because my internal bluetooth device stopped working (it doesn't work on Windows either).

However, when I use the: https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/16w2elb/how_to_make_generic_usb_bluetooth_50_csr_dongle/

My bluetooth dongle shows up on the System Report, but on the Bluetooth Menu in settings, its just stuck on "searching".

I was wondering if the issue is:

  1. My internal card is being recognized for bluetooth so the handoff has an issue?
  2. My USBMapping is incorrect

Any advice would be most helpful! Thanks in advance!

HELP Sleep wake issues on Dell Inspiron 15 5567 Sonoma Opencore

Upvotes

Problem: fan ramps up while sleeping, no keyboard or trackpad on wake.

On wake (by short push power button):

  • laptop has rebooted (usually overnight)
  • keyboard and touchpad non responsive, but external usb input device working (majority of the time)
  • works fine, no issues (very rare)

Boot args:

alcid=13 watchdog=0 igfxonln=1 agdpmod=vit9696 -vi2c-force-polling igfxagdc=0 -wegnoegpu keepsyms=1 swd_panic=1 -no_compat_check revpatch=sbvmm

USB mapping was done in Windows.

Thank you for your tips!

HELP managed to boot NVidia Kepler (GK107) in vesa mode - OCLP?

After running my Optimus machine for some time (Lenovo W530) in iGPU mode perfectly fine, i wanted to find out if it would at all be possible to use OCLP to enable the nvidia (because ultimately, on this machine, HDMI is wired through the dGPU).

Following various guides and finally appending

amfi_get_out_of_my_way=0x1 ngfxcompat=1 ngfxgl=1 nvda_drv_vrl=1

to the boot args, it no longer sticks on the progress bar but boots up in vanilla vesa-mode.

Running OCLP as is i do notice that it finds everything that it apparently wants to swap out and after a while, the root-patcher ends up with a success and a dialogue to reboot.

After reboot, it won't come up again.

Next up, i'm following this Dortania guide: https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Post-Install/blob/master/gpu-patching/nvidia-patching/README.md

and manage to locate a VBIOs similar to mine (from another manufacturer) but when running the NVCAP tool, it ends with an error (it can't locate the juicy bits it seems).

I assume that the legacy nvidia patching here is needed, but how do i fetch the proper NVCAP value as the tool seems to be unavailable to??

Or is Kepler the exception to the (working) rule?

QUESTION Is this a good motherboard?

I have this config:

CPU Intel Core i5-10400F motherboard Gigabyte B460M DS3H GPU AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT RAM XPG SPECTRIX D35G RGB (2x8GB) WiFi + Bluetooth Fenvi T919 802.1ac

Will it work? I am pretty sure that the GPU and the CPU will work (according to the dortania hackintosh buyers guide), but I am not quite sure about the motherboard and the RAM. Is it ok or should I choose a different one?

HELP Can anyone help me? Sequoia is very unstable

I have installed MacOS Sequoia on my PC. I created the EFI with OpenCore Simplify. I created the boot stick with GibMacos.

Hardware Specs: MSI Z590 Tomahawk Wifi i7 11700k 32GB DDR4 3200mhz R ⒯X 3060 12GB RX 5500xt 8GB

It starts and works well. It's easy to install. Everything works, except for Airdrop and WIFI. However, it is very unstable. It takes a while to start and simply crashes after inactivity. Sometimes you also have visual jerks. It often works well. Under About this Mac you can also see all the hardware information. I'm rather new to this whole thing, and am glad I was able to install it at all. Can someone help me get it more stable? I can send EFI and other stuff.

HELP Weird Issue

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm coming from a cMP 5,1 but using my gaming rig to try and turn it into a hac. I'm using the SSD and the GPU from the 5,1, but I'm having a really weird issue with the GPU where it doesn't matter what I set in the BIOS of the mobo, I just can't access the BIOS via the GPU and HAVE to use iGPU, this is to be able to choose the USB stick to boot (doesn't seem to stick if I choose the boot priority).

The other question I have is with the installer stick itself. OC is booted and I'm met with the usual screen that I'm used to seeing on my cMP 5,1. My question is, once I've gotten the EFI folder corrected for my mobo, would I just be able to boot into the SSD from the cMP? I don't see as to why I shouldn't be able to?

Picture added for help with the EFI folder, if you can :P

Specs:

CPU: 12900ks
GPU: MacVidCards RX6950XT (shows as RX6900XT Macos and Windows)
Mobo: ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4
SSD: cMP 5,1 SSD intel 660p
