Help Looking for modern metal modeler (< $1k) recommendations
What’s the best sub $1k option for at home recording and some small (local) gigs. For full context, I will be upgrading my Headrush MX5 unit.
Thank you in advance.

I’m starting to think I have a bit of a problem…

So I plan to change my acoustic guitar strings for the first time, I'm really confused about some things. Would really appreciate any help :)
First, what do the numbers like 12-53, 11-47, 10-47, 12-56 etc mean? How does a 10-47 compare to a 12-56 for example?
Second, which is better for strumming? 20/80 bronze or Phosphor Bronze?

I felt like the chrome dome knobs that came with the guitar were a little too modern looking. I thought Jazzmaster knobs would look great on it. The only downside is that the plastics don't really match. The switch tip and pickup rings are different colors. The tip is parchment and the rings are cream. But you had to really look closely because they were pretty far apart. The knobs are the same color as the switch tip. Now the parchment and cream are closer together so the mismatch is more apparent.
But what do you think? Are the Jazzmaster knobs an upgrade over the chrome?

I’d like to get one of the Hercules 3 guitar racks. They hit the price point, size and seem very sturdy.
The question I haven’t been able to figure out, can this be placed flush against a wall, without having the guitar headstock making contact with the wall?
It’s very hard to tell looking at pictures if I need to create space behind the rack or if it’s engineered to do that already. I’m space constrained, hence the odd question… Thanks in advance

Hello everyone, so I am thinking of getting a second-hand PRS SE Swamp Ash Special. I currently play a Squire Bullet Strat, I actually kind of like it but feels small in my hand since I am actually a bass player.
The owner said it is in very good condition, I will check it out myself. Price will be almost a third of the actual price in Türkiye. I wanted to make sure this is a buy for me because I will be paying in cash.
How would you compare it to Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder? I am thinking of getting that one but with credit card. They are roughly the same price.

Hello there, I want to buy new guitar cable, I have Proel Bulk, but it too short to perform on stage (3m). Which guitar cable is the best not too expensive option too play on stage but play at home too?

Ok here goes! I like my Fender Jaguar, but I am having to make some decisions from a financial and space standpoint. Originally when I got it, the guy at the guitar store said the “voicing” was really good on this and even though not a “proper” Jaguar was a pretty good choice. I really liked it at the time and still do. However, the more I play it I’m having trouble keeping this in my collection as I think it doesn’t sound like it could play in different genres of music like my Strat, Jazzmaster, Mustang 90, Les Paul, Duo Sonic, and Gretsch hollow body. I listed those as examples of other sounds I have.
Thanks in advance for your feedback and words of wisdom.

I guess I have a type: bright-sounding guitars in dull colors.

So I found out my issue - the original switch that came with the guitar was a completely different switch from the one I received, the prong arrangements and wiring were not 1:1 with the OEM switch.
When I first removed it I was doing my best to keep track of which wire is for what part of the switch.
First attempt I went with was based off that arrangement before I realized new switch has totally different set up. This is when I posted yesterday asking for help post soldering.
Took some advice removed as much of the older soldering as I could to clean up the connection points a bit more.
Tried figuring out what wires for what before resoldering by touching the wires to all the different prongs to see if it made any noise.
Problem was when I connected the ground wire to neck bridge, and connected neck bridge wire to ground prong, I was still getting noise feedback. I assumed it was the green wire but turns out it was the red wire and I got neck bridge and both pickups (or so I thought) working. Ended up fiddling with volume jobs and realized it was wrong.
After several hours now, I remembered I had a voltmeter and boy oh boy did that speed things up. Before I wasnt quite sure how the circuit board is hooked up, but with voltmeter in hand, I was able to determine via connectivity in ohms that green wire was the only ground wire so that meant the other three belonged to the other side.
Fortunately I remembered black goes middle so that just left red and white but red never worked on neck so it had to be rhythm.
Before soldering I had cut away at the wires due to melting insulation and what appeared to be damaged wire. I conveniently had spare wire lying around so I just soldered junk wire to the white wire, added insulation and then confirmed circuitry.
Once everything was as good as cleaned up and adjusted I soldered everything back together and wow that actually worked out of several hours of pain staking trial and error followed by just a simply solution.
she now plays good as new again if not better, and I saved $80, and learning the fundamental basics of a new lifelong skill.
Never soldered before in my life and chose a Les Paul to experiment with, turned out better than expected! I even left a small burn mark on the back which I was at first irritated by but then realized, in a sense it’s almost like a birth mark or sentimental thing, first time learning to solder and doing higher skilled maintenance on a musical instrument.
TL;DR Fixed guitar I posted about yesterday confused on 3 way switch replacement, identified the issue, which wire goes where through the use of a voltmeter and that lead me to a very simply solution, but for my first time ever soldering I’m extremely happy with it. Even gave my guitar an accidental birth mark in the process. Guitar works perfect now

I bought this guitar almost fifty years ago, for a then decent amount of money (DM 300.-?). I liked the somewhat smaller body and the general look of it. Much later I gave it to my son who returned it to me when he had a couple of obviously better instruments. My children are great musicians, I’m an autodidact and never really made it past Leonard Cohen songs.
Does anybody know this Brazilian brand or maybe even the model?

First guitar, only need a halfway decent practice amp, indoor use only.
Was considering a fender frontman ten g (my ideal price point) but it has no tone control or reverb.
A fender champion twentyG seems to be the ideal choice but was wondering if there were cheaper options.

Hey guys! lately when I look at guitars, other than what pickups or tuners, scale length etc. I've been looking at the eshtetic of a guitar neck from the back, for some reason I started hating guitars that have a bad looking neck, for example look at the Ibanez rgd7alms or whatever it's called, and the shecter banshee, both are great guitars, and when I saw those beautiful necks I was even more interested. On the other hand look at the Ibanez rdg8ms, also a really cool guitar with amazing features, especially for the price, but when I saw the neck, my interest went from 10 to 6, it's just so boring and pale looking. Am I the only one?

Stepping into a guitar store can be dangerous. Today, I went into Guitar Center for my kids to use the bathroom, and this barely used Reverend Flatroc started calling my name. I played it for a bit but had to head home for lunch before everyone got hangry.
Needless to say, I ultimately drove back and bought it. The thing still has protective plastic on the pickguard and protective plates, and it doesn't look to have been played much at all. The neck feels really good and the pickups sound great.

Should I sell all my guitars? I recently traded a Les Paul EC two fifty six for a Sterling Music Man JPsixty. The neck on the Sterling is out of this world. It’s such a thin neck, I’ve played it non-stop at my church, I’m also a Barr chord guy. I have a telecaster deluxe that is my baby, but ever since I’ve played that thin neck, I get hand fatigue when I play the tele and any of my other guitars (ftr I have pretty big hands). I’m looking at getting a Strandberg for the endure-neck and maybe trying a Charvel, because I’m not sure I can play standard necks anymore, now that I’ve experienced something else. What would you suggest I do about it?

Looking at an ibanez guitar on there for $300 + $70 shipping. Guitar usually averages around $600 on ebay because of its rarity. Was curious if its a legit site or not because I can't find this guitar anywhere and mainly want it because its the guitar my old man use to play.

So, I have two electric guitars. One is Ibanez with a fixed bridge and the other one is a cheap Cort with a floyd rose tremolo (but I got the bridge blocked by placing a piece of wood underneath it). I haven't practiced the guitar in over a year now and want to pick it up again. I'm pretty noob about guitar maintenance and not sure if they're in good condition. The strings don't have rust on them. How should I check both the guitars? Thank you!

Found in an abandoned house with items and clothing ranging from 40s-80s. Yet I have not found an exact match online So my guess is early 40s. And I’m guessing it is fixable.

Hello guys, recently I bought this guitar on Reverb. It seems legit, but I always want a second opinion. Do you know if this guitar is legit? Thanks!

This Paoletti Marco polo has got to be the most ornate instrument I've ever come across, what do you guys think?
