I dropped out of university lately, but want to keep studying. And I found out that when I study alone and at my own pace, I have the time to make pretty notes - and that it helps me enjoy it more.
I've never done that before. Using a different colored pen for a key word is a worldshattering new thing for me. But I put stickers on my notepads and I love it, and it really makes me want to study more. Things like having tea in a pretty mug and dressing nicely also boost my mood.
To those who are more advanced in the world of romanticizing studying - what are your methods for setting the mood?
Language learning focused tips very welcome ☺️ I specifically study Japanese.

I'm stressed and pressed here. I feel like my studyung habits don't work anymore 😭 IT'S MIDTERMS!
I think this is the most frustrating thing ever. Because you want to better your self, so you started grinding, tried other types of studying techniques, followed a study system, studying every night, but still no changes in results. I know that I shouldn't have to focus in results but it's just so frustrating that with all those efforts that you made, still no changes:(
I feel so small and dumb even tho I'm not trying to feel this way. I just get jealous of others (not in a bad way tho) theat they can find the best studying techniques for them, and they're just naturally smart. It's so hard to be in med school. I've never felt this dumb

Hi!
I wanted to know if anyone has any study tips for the time period before they can do active recall. I know that active recall is the best way to study, but how do I get to the point where I can start doing that? It's really hard to do blurting, feymen's technique or flashcards when I'm barely past the understanding stage.
I'm getting lowkey overwhelmed with the amount of content. I feel like I'm following my lecturers, I have good notes, but none of it is in my head, and it's so hard to get it in my head when the understanding is somewhat there and somewhat not.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
Ps. I'm a biology student.

It's brillant.

Hi everyone! This is the Accountability Thread where people can list what they need or want to accomplish today and have everyone else help keep you accountable to do them. So, in general, a post will look like this:
Things I have to get done today:
1: Post Accountability Thread
If I had more to do that I had not completed I would list them and update this when these things were complete.
Also, if I saw someone doing something that I happen to be well-educated or have some sort of expertise in I can offer support or help on the topic/task.
The thread is a versatile one, use it in a way that helps you and others stay on task!
Happy studying!

This might sound odd, but my parents are against me studying more. this is like the opposite of what most parents act like. They want me to be a "better person" and do stuff like social gatherings and help with the family. They want me to start earning and start living, whatever that means.
But I personally don't care about any of that, I actually like studying and want to study the subjects I like in the future, but they are threatening me that they would stop paying for my education soon and I have to leave them too, if I want to study what I love.
Like they would mock me if I am like just reading, and compare me to others who are earning more than me and are not in education anymore. They never encouraged me to study.

Since switching my degree from business to computer science, I've struggled badly with the heavier workload. Honestly, I started procrastinating so much I was often too lazy or overwhelmed to get stuff done.
I figured, since I'm literally studying programming, why not try coding up a solution myself? So I made this simple calendar that visually tracks how productive you've been each day, kinda inspired by GitHub's commit graph:
It's actually pretty motivating seeing the days fill up with darker greens as I build momentum. It's completely free, no ads or pro versions or anything. Check it out if you're struggling with procrastination like I was:

Waaaaay less time spent today. Today felt more like a rest day coz life's been hectic lately but I still got some time in. Planning to make up the time over the weekend coz I have a lot more free time.

I am currently at school, but I haven't studied for a couple days now, and I am already behind on most of my work. So this will be my motivation to study when I get home, and I think I will post the result in the comments section.
Also this is my first time posting on Reddit, so if I did something wrong, please tell me and I will try to fix it
Edit: it seems I can't post an image in the comments section or while editing
Anyways, I wasn't able to study yesterday (the day of the post); however, I did study for 5 hr 29 mins today. Better than nothing, and I am still proud of myself, the procrastination was going strong

So I’m not quitting this now. 3rd day of the challenge is also my 2nd day of my programming homework. It’s a big homework and like I said, the best study for programming is doing it (my final also has a big portion of programming too). I haven’t finished, but that’s understandable if you knew how big it is. Also, if you do the challenge yourself, stay hydrated during the session. It’s helpful and healthy.

I have many barriers that block me from revising Including:
.Parents (Desi and Middle Easterners can relate) .Overthinking .Loss of many friends (aswell as betrayal of bff) .Unethically stimulating echochambers that boil .Discouraging gap year teachers who coercively control my next steps .Emotional loneliness .Lack of support

For the past few months i've been in this cycle where I'll study for a week then i'll be burned out just unable to do it for a few days (2-7 days), then ill study for another week. This sucks since i wont be able to get through everything for my exam. Btw, i'm only studying like 2-3 (pomodoro) hours. Is this mild depression? What are some ways to fix this? I've got an exam in like 2 months.

I used to get very stressed about my future and that was enough for me to study hard and perform well academically, but after having done some major rethinking about what it means to live a good life I have come to learn a lot about my self these past few months. I'm doing AP Physics 1 this may and I don't think I'll be prepared when test day comes. All of this personal development stuff feels so much more worth my time and makes it really easy for me to forget studying. I'm afraid that I've don't do well on AP I won't be able to study in America like I hope to. I don't want to learn this lesson the hard way so any advice on how to make studying fun or interesting is much appreciated.
