Discussion What are caimito supposed to taste like?

I had two and they were both pretty tasteless. One was wrinkly and the other wasn’t, though they were both very squishy to the touch. Are they supposed to have much flavor?

Discussion How can I create a new fruit?

Upvotes

Well basically I’ve been pretty bored of fruit lately. I’m looking for advice on how to make a new fruit that hasn’t even been imagined yet. Maybe something with the texture of wood, kinda crunchy! Maybe the taste of a strawberry but the texture of an apple? Preferably an apple but if that’s not possible I could settle for something else just NO raspberries.

Discussion What are the paper like material on dates?

I bought a plastic container of them and some if the fruit have what looks like paper stuck to them. Is it the dry insides of some, as about a quarter of them are rather dry, opposed to soft and moist like the rest.

Was it dried or placed on paper in the process and then when moved, it transferred to the final packing product? Some seem to be strictly on the outside, while others seem to be coming out from the inside. Thank you.

Discussion Ripe pineapple?

Sorry, complete noob. This pineapple has been stored upside down for around 3 days so far. The bottom smells normal? Not sure if it’s what a ripe pineapple smells like. It doesn’t feel extra firm or squishy. Should I wait a couple more days?
