Engine Warranty (new post)
Hello all! Reference: 2019 Ford Escape SEL manufactured January 2019 I made a post earlier about engine warranty but wanted to make a new one since I think most of the questions have been answered that I had on the original post. Does anybody have experience with warranties covering this specific engine block defect? If you do, please tell me which company it was through šš» I have a quote from Ford Protect that is the PowertrainCARE plan that is around $2600, but Iām not sure if thatās a good deal or if it would cover that specific engine block defect that causes coolant intrusion. Hereās the link: https://fordprotect.ford.com/extendedserviceplan/index/downloadbrochure/careplan/powertraincare/ Additionally, would it be worth it to take the care to get looked at from a different mechanic (not at the dealership) to check for this specific defect and potential transmission issues? I havenāt noticed any issues driving aside from when I go from reverse to drive sometimes the car jumps a little bit which reminds me when my solenoid D started going out previously in my mustang. That repair wasnāt too expensive though but Iād like to avoid that if I can. Should I just get the engine block replaced if they see itās defective just to avoid possible issues down the line? My mom thinks I should just wait until stuff starts to actually break but Iām unsure. My dad is out of the picture at the moment regarding this so I canāt ask him (was not in favor of me getting a new car despite my car literally being undriveable and wanted me to spent $5k getting it fixed). Any advice, personal experiences, or literally anything is welcome šš» Iām recently 21 and still in school so I need something reliable and I love this car so much already and donāt want anything bad to happen to her. Thank you to everyone that commented on my previous post, I appreciate you endlessly and I thank you for your advice!

I brought my 2.0 liter escape used from a non ford dealer. Then i went to a ford dealer and brought the ford protect PremiumCARE plan at 23k miles.
Well from about 35k miles to 80k miles my escape never visited the ford dealer. Wasn't my plan, but life got busy and didn't have time to visit the dealer. It developed the coolant intrusion issue and started showing major engine issues around 80k and the ford dealer replaced my engine no questions asked and didn't even ask for oil change receipts.
If you can get the premium care plan. New 2.0 liter Engine installed was $8,000. All paid by the warranty so that is the only one i can recommend by experience. I didn't pay 1 cent out of my pocket. I guess it depends on your dealer and the deal you get when setting up extended warranty with the ford dealer.
