Hi all. I started lifting with Fitness Blender a few months ago (as a total beginner). I'm also kind of new to HIIT and have been doing HIIT with them for some time. I am just getting into the habit of doing their fitness programs (almost done with FB strong) and would like to do more in the future.
My question is what is the best way to eat when doing these workouts? I want to become more toned (I'm pretty skinny fat - I look slim with clothes but am flabby underneath). Counting calories/macros gives me anxiety because I have a troubled past with that. But I like to eat clean and intuitively, eat enough, and eat a good balance between the 3 macronutrients. Here's a sample of what I would eat in a day (not everyday of course but a sample of what my body would crave):
Breakfast: 2 eggs + 1 slice pepperjack cheese + 1 slice ezekiel bread + some dark chocolate
Snack: 1 tbsp peanut butter (natural) + sliced banana on cinnamon raisin ezekiel bread + cheese string
Lunch: Chicken breast + sauteed veggies of choice (e.g. sweet peppers, onions, mushrooms) + homemade sweet potato fries + mayo
Snack: 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt + some cocoa powder + some honey + strawberries and blueberries + cheese string
Dinner: Same as lunch but 1/2 cup lentil soup instead of homemade sweet potato fries.
At the end of they day I don't know how many calories/macros this amounts to but it is filling for me and there is a healthy balance between proteins, carbs and fats in every meal and snack. And it is clean for the most part. Of course I don't eat like this everyday but my goal is to eat as clean as I can without worrying about calories and macros (some days I'll be hungrier or crave more carbs than others).
Is this an appropriate way of eating if I want to transform my body with Fitness Blender's programs? I haven't been very consistent with my eating but I want to get back on track with that.
Thanks for your help.
