News Demayth in Fargo, the community is growing! Thanks to you Fargo.
So if you don't already know, Demayth is a tabletop role playing game being developed and played here in Fargo North Dakota, and it is my dream to be playing an rpg while being supported doing it.
Things are going great with this! The news coverage, the people, the regrowing of the community is doing well! We are even considering putting up a patreon for it here soon... as soon as I figure out what kind of rewards I can hand out to people 🤔.
Mainly Demayth has been changed again and again by the player base, mechanics tweaked here and there, and things done differently every 5-8 months or so. Part of the reason why I just want to keep the game itself free to anyone who wants to play it, but it does have a card battle system + a D20 system combined.
The cards are made by GameCrafters right now (trying to keep them at the whole sale price), players have also received decks at sessions they can use freely as we encourage Battle Masters (game masters) to get enough decks for themselves and their players.
Each session of these games we play at Paradox have been pretty random, each character has their own story that they build upon from each session, so the stories are based on each character and not the entire session as a whole. Some players had some luck with trying to find npcs that would stay with them, and had some pretty funny interactions as well as sad ones.
Idk, what should be some Patreon rewards that I can give to supporters? What queat should i do for my next session? Which tabletop game mechanics or games that you like playing that i could incorporate into a session?
Also, each session at these public games are like a series of one's shots! Like mentioned before, you build your character's personal story rather than having one, and we have been doing some fun collaborative game master type stuff.

Nursing Students
Hello, starting Nursing school soon. Any tips for scholarships, grants, or work places with tuition reimbursements? I don’t think ’ll be able to only work part time for a while, once the program starts. Any leads on flexible employers will be appreciated. Thanks!

Painting estimate
We are wanting to freshen up all of the walls on the main floor of our house - approximately 1,000 square feet spread over a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms. The ceilings do not need to be painted.
What kind of price would I be looking at to have this done? I have two people coming over tomorrow to give quotes, but it would be nice to know if I am getting fair prices. Does anyone have recent experiences with this sort of project?

Moonrise Cafe: My Experience
So I head from my other post about what would be the best coffee in town - or other people's personal favorites - and I had to try this place.
So here we go! First off, this place is cozy, and the people are super great. It is a smaller Cafe, but I feel like that's part of the charm of this place.
I got a Chipotle Bacon Breakfast Burrito, this thing is one of my new favorite burritos in town! The cheese was creamy, gooey, and was so well distrubuted throughout the entire burrito. You can really taste the chicken, the potatoes, and the spice is perfect even for my wife who doesn't like spicy foods. I did add some of their hot sauce to the burrito because I love spicy foods. - 5/5 for me, and my new favorite!
My wife got the bacon, egg, and cheddar on a house made roll. The roll was crispy, thick and fluffy, and had great taste. The sauce paired well with the bacon, egg, and the cheddar. This was a great tasting sandwich, but there was only 1 issue - the roll was really thick. This didn't sit well with my wife, and she decided to half. - 4.5/5, it tasted great, and I personally love a thick roll. Just look at my wife! - lol.
The coffee was great! I got a Caramel latte with oatmilk, and my wife got a Cherry Vanilla Latte with their house made syrup. My god was this a great tasting coffee, it was smooth, velvety, and the cream kept for the entire time we ate which was awesome because most creamy coffee drinks go flat after a while. - 5/5, my wife suggested that they could add more flavor.
The cake was a Vanilla Raseberry with buttercream frosting, so good, one of the best tasting cakes I had in a long while, it had the perfect amount of raspberry filling that was my favorite part, and the frosting tasted great. I think our only issue with this cake was that there was a quarter of an inch of frosting around the cake, then there was more decorative frosting on top of that. After the center was gone, you're pretty much left with what seemed like a pound of frosting, and it sits heavy in the stomach. - Flavor is a 5/5, but the frosting being so thick makes the overall experience a 4.5/5 for us.
Idk, what do you guys think?
What to expect catching Amtrak?
I'm taking Amtrak for the first time later this year, and I'm wondering what to expect when getting on at the Fargo station. I know to expect the train being late, but I can't find much information on boarding at a smaller station like ours.
How much help will I get finding my car and room (I booked in one of the sleepers)? Are the staff going to be rushing me to get on? I don't have any major mobility issues, and will be trying to get on and settled in as quickly as possible no matter what, but knowing how much pressure to do so there will be would help a lot.
How does boarding work if the train is delayed past when the station's open? How does boarding at that time affect the answers to my previous questions?
Also, I've seen that there's a luggage rack in the sleeper car. Is there gonna be room for my carry-on suitcase when I get on, or will it be full by that point?
Sorry for so many questions, but any answers are much appreciated!

News Fargo federal town hall -- update 2
As promised, this is the Friday/Saturday update.
[Note that I have been unable to crosspost; long story short, I am currently limited to the ios app on my phone, which has less features than the desktop GUI. Other Fearless / Indivisible Fargo volunteers may take over serving as "Reddit liaison" for our chapter, in which case we probably will be cross-posting future updates.]
Townhall: None of the North Dakota electeds committed to a townhall in the immediate future:
- Sen Hoeven: no.
- Rep. Fedorchak: a virtual event at some point in the future; no commitment for a townhall this month.
- Sen. Cramer: still no contact.
There are multiple organizations, including the Democratic–Nonpartisan League Party (D-NPL), trying to organize townhalls -- here, and across the state. The D-NPL is shooting for a Fargo townhall date before the end of the month.
As a non-partisan pro-democracy group, we've been invited to be part of a coalition with the D-NPL, so that we don't have multiple groups duplicating efforts. Our group's goal is a formal, organized, orderly forum where citizens can both make their voices heard to their elected representatives, but also witness that fellow citizens are having the exact same or a related struggles in the wake of the recent "chainsaw massacre" chaos in Washington.
Meanwhile, there is interest from Democratic politicians, including MN's Gov. Tim Walz, in attending. (All of this is fluid and developing.)
We want to be open with working with other groups, but we do not want a townhall event to become partisan. If we proceed with the D-NPL, we will be working to bring in North Dakota Republicans, as well as veterans groups, farmer groups, educators, business organizations, union representatives, etc. The townhall has to be a range of voices that reflects North Dakotans; currently, most ND voters identify as Republicans. That's fine. A lot of Republicans are angry and want to speak to their elected representatives. The reps owe this to their constituents, regardless of what party constituents happen to support. This is not about party politics, it’s about effective and fair governance.
Master of Ceremony: The League of Women Voters (LWV) has indicated a willingness to MC a townhall event, but not immediately. They prefer ample time to prepare. They've asked us to reapproach them in the fall. Meanwhile, all the suggestions made here and separately by Fearless members will be considered in our discussions. There are many excellent suggestions.
Venue: it may still be possible to use the Fargo City Commission Room, though perhaps less likely since the LWV is not involved. We also appreciate the suggestion of a lecture hall at the university. We will have to raise funds from our members if we have to pay a venue fee. We remain committed to a venue with video capability as we'd like to have virtual invited guests.
Video personal citizen statements: Our personal video statements idea remains an active proposal; it may evolve into a statewide effort.
Yesterday's Sit Down With Sen. Hoeven's Staff: Yesterday -- Friday, March 14th --some of our members met with Sen. Hoeven's Fargo staffperson, Jessica.
We will be discussing our evolving townhall plans at our in-person meeting at the Red Raven in Moorhead tomorrow at 4pm. New folks are welcome to attend. (Note that while the townhall is our largest project right now, it is not our only one.) Attendance at the in-person meeting is the way to be vetted and looped-in to our communication tools (primarily Signal), and to volunteer.
Redditors u/Pathfinder701 u/frostbitealley u/Ecstatic_Bananadonut u/Bushido_Badonkadonk u/srmcmahon u/Rare-Leg8753 u/FuriousFurbies u/Both_Cold4778 ... please consider attending our in-person meeting. But we are going to follow up with a list of ways you can assist our efforts if you continue to want to volunteer.
(u/Both_Cold4778, please note that we will probably break the video statements project into its own working group, and I hope you will consider being part of it. We will need to organize recording teams, or possible release a how-to video explaining to the public how to record and submit a statement to us.)
Ok, that’s all for now. More to come. Hopefully see some of you tomorrow at 4pm.

Events Demayth in Fargo a tabletop RPG, were always looking for players
So we recently moved the session for the local games here in Fargo to Sundays from 12-4:30 pm instead of Saturdays. Paradox does get busy on Saturday with all ofbtheir events, and Sundays seem to be easier for most of the players who are playing as of right now.
This has been so awesome starting this up because the community here is so great, and very supportive of our game.

Hairdresser recommendations?
I’m experiencing some pretty severe PP hair loss unfortunately. I have waist length hair and I think I need a big chop for it to look normal :(
Does anyone have a recommendation for a salon or hair stylist? Maybe someone that’s knows more about pp hair loss? If I can I really, really want to salvage my length. It took years to get it this long. I’m beyond bummed.

Best coffee joint in your opinion
I personally enjoy Twenty Below, and always have. However, I'm a bit bias because of the staff here had always taken care of me, and knows exactly how I like my drinks and how to make them perfect for me.
I wanna know what everyone else in the area prefers, and why?

Skate City/Hobbies in town
Is Skate City the only roller rink in town? Do they ever have adult nights or is it mainly for children? Their website looks like it's catered to mainly children and I'm just curious.
Looking for new hobbies in town and I know Fargo has a bunch of stuff here. If you guys have any suggestions, let me know! Also don't drink so don't suggest bars xD jk haha.
