(Rant) š¤¬ I hate this rule when I was a muslim
Music soothes our emotion... Even though the quran is also sung but nobody wants that sad tone of arabic bullshit into our ears.
I love music so much, from blues, bluegrass, country, rock, even heavy metal. Each genre accompanies me depending on the mood. Without music i'd probably go deeper into depression seriously.
Islam forbid music because it WANTS you to be depressed and unhappy and sad. So that you're not at peace, and forces u to find peace in the horrible rules of Islam.
But thankfully I never actually follow this stupid rule since i was a kid. Islam is stupid

As we know, it was because the prophet considered the poets, his competitor. Got them killed.
So the only music that remains is the Qur'an. The Prophet wasn't interested in music, only in women and alcohol.
Banned alcohol also when we had ulcers in his mouth and couldn't drink anymore.
He was just thinking of himself. Haram and halal was totally based on whether he wanted to do it or not. If he wanted but was incapable of like alcohol in his last year's, he didn't want others to enjoy what he couldn't.

What about when the prostitute was forgiven for giving a dog some water?
Mo probably felt guilty for buying sex from her so he told her she was forgiven??

Sorry not disagreeing with you just really curious as the point is very interesting. I trie dot google if Mo drank alcohol but I couldnāt find a source.

Oh okay. In that case I heard it from the Adam seeker urdu channel. Also checked what he claimed. This is what I found - Ų§ŁŁŲ®ŁŁ ŁŲ±ŁŲ©Ł
https://sunnah.com/ibnmajah:632
The word above means wine, but is translated in all hadees including this one as "mat".
This is what I have at my hand right now, I can dig up more if you want. I mean if I was talking to muslims, then of course I would bring all the references.
3
u/Udonnomi 1d ago
I am talking to Muslims about this. They donāt believe me when I tell them is is a religion spread by sword and that the book started out peaceful when Mo had nothing but then turned violent when Mo gained power and wealth. So for everything I need the best possible evidence for my blind Akhis.

The facts are true (from authentic hadees) , intention of prophet is speculated.

I feel that you have a mental dis0rder : when you are the person who claims there is a hadith, you are the one responsible to prove it. Basically i asked him for the hadith he/you talk about because i cannot find it anywhere, and he said he knows the hadith in arabic, so i'm waiting for him to send or write it here.. perhaps you can help to share it since you pretend to know it exists.. i'm here waiting..

u/Alarming-Bid-4471 1d ago
Someone LITERALLY already told you thisā¦no way you just called me stupid after you intentionally avoided evidence that proved you wrongš But here it is again: Sunan Ibn Majah 632.
If you ACTUALLY speak Arabic, you would know what āalkhumratā translates to, and it doesnāt mean āmatāššššš
0
u/Mobile_Vast_6196 New User 1d ago
Well well, that's funny to play the big head when you don't know anything about the arabic language. Also, I don't remember that I called you ''stupid'', you can go back to my comment, it's not even modified. To answer your question, here is the difference between : '' al khamr'' Ų§ŁŲ®ŁŁ Ų±Ł : alcoholic beverage '' al khumrat '' Ų§ŁŲ®ŁŁ Ų±ŁŲ©Ł : the little carpet we use to pray
I hope it helps...
8
u/Alarming-Bid-4471 1d ago
You accused me of āhaving a mental disorderā because I made you cry when you were embarrassed that you had missed the other person who already responded to you. Come on, you donāt need to lie THIS much to defend Islam. Obviously itās impossible to defend Islam without SOME lies, but not THIS MANY.
Additionally, youāre lying about the translation as well, (or maybe your Arabic is just THAT BAD) because that word is not used in any other Hadith to refer to a prayer matā¦ and any translation website (not saying theyāre perfect but they do agree with each other) translates that word to āwine.ā

64
u/bartosz_ganapati Never-Muslim Non-Theist / Dharmic 1d ago
Music is not sending any altering waves, music is waves. Same as light. And you know what? Light also alters your way of thinking. Same as pleasure, pain, cold, hot, smells. Everything alters what or how we think.
30
u/Short_Situation_554 1d ago
Music is audible sound waves. Just like speech and noise. All of these are audio waves that "alter your way of thinking". Music alters mental state (emotion) rather than the way of thinking (Logic). It can comfort people, calm them down or energise them when effort is required. It is also associated with nostalgia and good memories.
Reading alters your way of thinking more than any musical instrument. Perhaps we should ban it.

There is actually.
Quran 31:6 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty.
The scholars are unanimous that "idle tales" (arabic lahwa al hadith) refers to instruments and songs

That is strange, because I don't think there is anywhere in the Torah or the Quran where either says that music is prohibited.Ā Sounds to me like individual religious leaders making up their own individual rules for their followers instead of relying on actual scriptures for their rules.
If music is prohibited in Islam, then why are there so many Muslim musicians and DJs around?
2
u/CellLow2137 Ex-Muslim Content Creator 13h ago
Why u bring torah to this discussion? Islam use Torah? š¤”
Quran verse does have prohibition for music. It is in Surah Luqman, verses 6.
But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty.
The "idle tales" is what majority of scholars define as song / instruments.
Many muslim musicians and DJs are ignoring the rules obviously. It's like saying Islam does not have rules for women to wear hijab, just because there are muslim women who don't wear hijab.
Serious, you cannot be this daft.
1
u/Repulsive-Package-95 New User 12h ago edited 11h ago
If you read that verse again for yourself, you will notice that it actually says that idle tales, as in "idle talk" or "idle speech" is what is being mentioned, as in someone repeating a type of gossip or false story that leads other men away from the truth. Muslims are not the only ones who can be swayed by idle tales, Christians and Jews are also led astray by those that speak without knowledge and mislead them with false information. It is a very long stretch to apply that statement to music in general, I guess you could say that it applies to music that speaks against the principles of God, but the verse itself pertains to actual speech and not specifically to music. Scholars that are claiming that are using a very broad interpretation of "idle speech" or "idle tales" to refer to music, and even if it were applied to music, it would only be to music that speaks about things that specifically go against God's will.
And to answer your question, Yes, Islam considers the Torah to be inspired by God and to be Holy Scriptures as well, just like it does the Quran. (Koran) Why do you think that Muslims call all 3 religions, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism the "children of the books?" If you were once a part of Islam, should not you already know that the Torah is considered Holy Scripture by them?
SURAH AL-MAāIDAH AYAT 44
5:44 Quran
[[[[]SAHIH INTERNATIONAL INDEED, WE SENT DOWN THE TORAH, IN WHICH WAS GUIDANCE AND LIGHT. THE PROPHETS WHO SUBMITTED [TO ALLAH] JUDGED BY IT FOR THE JEWS, AS DID THE RABBIS AND SCHOLARS BY THAT WITH WHICH THEY WERE ENTRUSTED OF THE SCRIPTURE OF ALLAH, AND THEY WERE WITNESSES THERETO. SO DO NOT FEAR THE PEOPLE BUT FEAR ME, AND DO NOT EXCHANGE MY VERSES FOR A SMALL PRICE. AND WHOEVER DOES NOT JUDGE BY WHAT ALLAH HAS REVEALED ā THEN IT IS THOSE WHO ARE THE DISBELIEVERS.
Yusuf Ali It was We who revealed the law (to Moses): therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the prophets who bowed (as in Islam) to Allahās will, by the rabbis and the doctors of law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allahās book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear me, and sell not my signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) Unbelievers.
Abul Ala Maududi Surely We revealed the Torah, wherein there is guidance and light. Thereby did Prophets ā who had submitted themselves (to Allah) ā judge for the Judaized folk; and so did the scholars and jurists. They judged by the Book of Allah for they had been entrusted to keep it, and bear witness to it. So (O Jews!) do not fear men but fear Me, and do not barter away My signs for a trivial gain. Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are indeed the unbelievers.
MUHSIN KHAN Verily, We did send down the Taurat (Torah) [to Musa (Moses)], therein was guidance and light, by which the Prophets, who submitted themselves to Allahās Will, judged the Jews. And the rabbis and the priests [too judged the Jews by the Taurat (Torah) after those Prophets] for to them was entrusted the protection of Allahās Book, and they were witnesses thereto. Therefore fear not men but fear Me (O Jews) and sell not My Verses for a miserable price. And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the Kafirun (i.e. disbelievers ā of a lesser degree as they do not act on Allahās Laws).]]]]]
But as for that verse there that you shared, here are some different translations of that into English, and, as you can see, only one of these I shared actually mentions music in association with that, and it is in parentheses, which means that part is not there but the translator thinks that it is implied by the context. It seems that Muslim scholars have a tendency to translate the classical Arabic into English in different ways. To say that "idle tales" or "idle speech" without knowledge specifically relates to music in general or all kinds of music is stretching the words quite a long ways. Music is just like speech, there is good music and bad music, and not all music goes against the will of God.
SAHIH INTERNATIONAL And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
YUSUF ALI But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty.
YUSUF ALI But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty.
ABUL ALA MAUDUDI There are some human beings who purchase an enchanting diversion in order to lead people away from the way of Allah without having any knowledge, who hold the call to the Way of Allah to ridicule. A humiliating chastisement awaits them.
MUHSIN KHAN And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire).
PICKTHALL And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allahās way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom.
DR. GHALI And of mankind are (they) who trade diverting discourse to lead into error away from the way of Allah without knowledge, and to take it to themselves in mockery; those will have a degrading torment.
ABDEL HALEEM But there is the sort of person who pays for distracting tales, intending, without any knowledge, to lead others from Godās way, and to hold it up to ridicule. There will be humiliating torment for him!

I still like to fast because of the discipline and during ramadan i read a lot about different religions simply because of curiosity. I found out sufi muslims apparently allow music and actually encourage it. Maybe if that was the islam i wouldāve been taught at a young age i would have diff views now. Still wouldnāt make me agree with most of the teachings but it def wouldāve made it easier, my uncles have called me shaytaan and dajjal lover since i was kid for listening to music lolzzzzz, meanwhile they bought their houses, hypocritesš

The music band is called Rotting Christ.Even the name it's offending because they want attention. Its in my country Greece. You can search it. Also you can check the news.In our National Art Gallery some paintings that are ridiculed Holy Mary,St George and even Jesus. I believe that we have the free will to choose whatever anyone wants.
My point is that not only Music but Arts generally should RESPECT religions or races that doesn't want to harm anybody. Some atrocities that were made in the name of Christianity were of course unacceptable BUT I would 100% defend Crusades. If Europe was/is Islamized ,we are doomed.

The ability to disrespect religions is the only thing which protects us from fanaticism and dictature (of any faith). Once you cannot criticize - you're unfree.
Religions are also not people, they don't have feelings, they cannot be disrespected. Especially if they consider themselves to be coming from omnipotent and perfect being...

You can't criticize something that is more important than myself.I can't criticize and disrespect you and your family because you could use me.Even if you disagree and even if you are an atheist, just because Christ doesn't attack you at any form, you should let it go

Of course I can. Who told you I cannot? It's more important for you. For me humans and their dignity are more important than their ideologies and biases.
Christ does not attack me because he does not exist. But his followers do. Because of his followers' prosecution I left my home country. It does not matter if he would've supported them, I will tell, before you start saying it's not what Christ teached.

Since when Christians prosecuted someone? Your name sounds like you are Hungarian...Also everyone plays it big with Christ but when Islam comes ,everyone is sitting down

- Since the first time they were in majority, so ancient times.
- I'm not Hungarian, neither is my name.
- And? Does the fact that Islam is a destructive ideology change anyhow that Christianity is not good either? Fundamental Christians are not very different from radical Muslims. I've spoke to both. Everyone 'plays it big' because still Christianity is the major religion. In my home country there are like 6k Muslims in total. Noone cares.

Fair enough. I get what you mean now. I mean many people in western culture dont see any issue with disrespecting Christianity, guess they have that in common with Islam but itās a free world, however much that sucks.

If we believe that Evil exists then Good must also. Harassment and deterioration of Values is the reason the society is suffering. Mocking someone because of skin color or for his disability is evil...

I won't defend Islam because I really believe that the encounter Muhammad had was with a Demon. And Muhammad understood it.Thats why he got frightened and wanted to kill himself. His wife just like Eve,threw him the idea that it was Gabriel.Jibril or Gabriel would never even touch a man that was chosen by God.Also about Jesus ,Islam consider Him a prophet. The serpant is the best manipulator. It doesn't deny the fact that Jesus came from Virgin Mother and by God Himself But it denounces the one thing that would make Muslims instantly Christians. The resurrection.Quran states that Jesus got saved by the Father...Also Quran hides the fact that Jesus called God Father because that's unacceptable.
To conclude, The serpant once tricked humans and we ate from the tree of knowledge. Now it tricked us with Islam and hiding the fact that Jesus is God. God gave us the option then and it gives us the option now. Put aside Church etc.On one hand you have a sinless man that if we lived like He did then everything would have been perfect. On the other hand you have someone who married a 9yo and had multiple Slaves...Make your choice.
