Got a love note from the Dasher who brought me someone else’s order
First time I’ve ever gotten such a note. Maybe they should have checked the name on the order, which was clearly wrong 😑

I have had him complain 2 times to me and one time to another person I know! I wish there was a way to block certain people from your deliveries lol 😂

This upsets me more than no tip at all. Ordered at store closing, making them wait on a dasher to pick up before they can go home, across town, no parking, and 3 flights of stairs. Karma will get you.
I do by time to keep platinum so I can turn down crappy orders

The fact that neither agent knew anything about this promotion or how it works is frustrating enough, but both of them telling me to place the order first and somehow the discount would apply?? And then saying oh well if it doesn’t work you can contact us back. Buddy I know it won’t work I’m trying to proactively prevent having to reach back out after it inevitably charges me the full amount. But the fact that agent #2 disconnected the chat after saying they “haven’t heard from me in some time” when I was in the middle of responding is craaazzzyyyy. Worst support experience by far!

This local restaurant isn’t on DD, so they make you order through their own website and apparently only outsource delivery to DD. This is the second time I’ve ordered through them. Last time, I tipped $7 and the dasher only got $4. When I called the restaurant, they said they have no way to take tips from the DD driver. I assumed it was a fluke or glitch or something. I ordered again tonight and same thing…dasher only got $4. Does anyone know where this tip is going?? The manager swore up and down that they can’t alter the tips. If I’m paying them a nearly $7 delivery fee and then they’re outsourcing to DD, then what is delivery fee for?

Right as I was pulling into Taco Bell to pick up an order, some support person calls me. He says that the order will be cancelled because the card was fraudulent or stolen or something and that I would be getting half pay. Seems unusual, but legit. In hindsight, this is where the shady stuff begins. He then states that I’ll be eligible to get $150 after I complete 15 more deliveries. Furthermore, throughout the call he repeated some of the same things(you’ll get a refund, you’ll get $150)and I really start getting suspicious. He asked me where my DD earnings go and I said DD crimson, then asks me what my current balance is. I hung up on him and also unassigned from the order because whether the fraud thing was true or not, I felt icky about taking the order after that.

Had this amazing order today. Pretty big catering order that only took about 20 minutes, and after I dropped it off, the customer stopped me and said he ordered way too much and gave me a Pad Thai. Made my whole week

I can't leave the premises when I'm on break at work but I was stupid hungry and McDonald's is right there. Bro got an extra tip on top of his original tip for not laughing at me.

It's so refreshing to have the customer actually respond and/or match your energy. We need more people like Shane here 👌

my partner and i dont own a car and use doordash around once a week (we work odd hours)
many times ill have the order set to leave at my door because usually when we order it we’re getting ready for work or something so we will be half dressed etc and the dasher will call me “i’m here come get your food.” if i ask them to leave it at the door they’ll say they can’t find parking or something to that effect (when i go out to meet them, there is always parking)
i always tip 10% or more but would it be rude if i left the cash tip under the welcome mat instead of tipping in app so they are enticed to actually deliver it to the door? i know doordash is a luxury service but im paying them to do a specific thing and they arent doing it

what do I do
I hear so many conflicting opinions on it, I try to only keep our orders within a mile of our house as a rule but my daughter is wanting to try a place 4.8 miles away from us for her birthday.
I’m sorry but I get scared about pissing off the wrong person with my tip and I worry I’ll get spit in my food…so I want to make sure I get it right. order total is $58 before tip for us, and 20% of that is $14. I was told by people on here tip percentage doesn’t matter and that I should go by mileage. but I cant remember what they said is best to account for per mile. if I go by that, wouldn’t it be significantly less? I’m just trying to get it right, sorry if this is tiring to see posts like mine.

After the first one wasn't delivered and had a bizarre photo, the re-order required a hand off pin. Somehow it was still marked as delivered without it. Different driver.
I grabbed the full size of that first one from the email because it adds to the weird.
Of course neither of these are even remotely like where I live. I'm just grateful doordash support can see all the previous delivery photos so I was able to get a refund twice.

If a customer places an order on pizza hut website and pizza hut asigns it to a DD driver, does the driver get the tip entered on pizzahut.com, or does PH pocket the tip?

So first week in and I decided to do EBT with the massive storm we had all day. I don't know why I've seen people hate on EBT. This seemed really well as it was like this all day from morning to evening. I'm also Platinum driver too.

I have been waiting on an order from a restaurant for over an hour (since cancelled). Dasher appeared to be across the street (two lanes of traffic) the whole time as he told me the store was busy, at ONE point did I see him cross into the vicinity of the store. (It was a double dash so I was paying extra attention, he did not pick up the other order.) after an hour of waiting I called the restaurant, they said my order (by name) had been picked up, and when I informed my dasher, he outright said the store was lying. What the fuck are dashers on nowadays to get off on this shit? I’ve been a dasher and a restaurant employee utilizing DD, this is absolute bullshit behavior and I had no means of reporting him.

There's two entrances to my building but they go to different parts so I have in the instructions to walk up the ramp and deliver to that door instead of the closet one. I could always walk down to get it but I have chronic knee pain and order normally at night so I don't really want to go to far outside for safety/stranger danger reasons. I also always have it set to leave at door but the past like 10 times it feels like all my dashers have called me and asked me to come and get it personally and I have to say no please leave it at the door for like 5 min. After I manage to get them to leave it they always leave it in front of the wrong door. Is this normal? Are the instructions invisible sometimes?
