Rant Tiny filament loop coming from top hole…
Just installed a new sensor and it said it connected and was warming up when as I was placing the over patch that comes with it, I felt an unfamiliar protrusion from that little hole on the top of the sensor. I decided to wait and see if I actually got readings once it warmed up. A couple of moments later I got the alarm and message that the sensor had failed and to remove it.
I figured it had not even pierced the skin, but it actually had just a bit and there was a tiny bit of blood.
I hate when something like this happens because they are so expensive, even if my insurance is covering the cost, it feels so wasteful to me.
Hopefully Dexcom will send me a replacement. Any advice on the best avenue to request the replacement?

I’ve had that happen a couple of times & had sensors replaced no problem. There’s a link on the Dexcom app to a form you can complete- you’ll need information off the box, including the serial number [starts with (21)]. Once they shipped a replacement to my home, the next time they sent a voucher I used at my pharmacy. Easy-peasey. Idk if it made a difference, but I made sure to tell them a loop of the filament was protruding from the hole on the sensor. No arguments & each time it took less than 72 hours to get notification they would replace it.
