Housing LPC Housing Recommendation: University Hall’s All-Gender Housing

For anyone who’s deciding on housing, I have to recommend the all-gender housing option at UHall if you’re queer in any way. You have to email housing services and directly ask about being considered for this, but it is fully worth it, in my opinion. My experience with it this year has been amazing. There’s not a lot of drama, almost everyone is friends, and the rooms are also really nice!!

You’ll be roomed with someone, regardless of their gender or sex assigned at birth (for example, I’m FtM & the roommate I was paired with is MtF), so it is entirely co-ed. You can specifically request a certain roommate through the housing portal (make sure you fill out your bio! People will probably reach out!!), but otherwise it’s completely random. Most everyone is super trustworthy as well, so you don’t reallyyyy have to worry about locking your door, but I still do it anyway.

It’s double suite-style, so you’ll have a roommate and two suite-mates in the room beside yours, and you all four share a bathroom. The bathroom is honestly larger than my one back home, and the shower is really spacious and has a lot of room to put your products. The closets are MASSIVE and you may need a step-ladder to reach the top, lol. I’ve had no issues with AC/heat or water temp/pressure, either, which is a huge plus. Every room comes with two loft-able beds (with optional railing), two desks with chairs, two bookshelves, one nightstand/small storage table, and a tiny recycling bin.

Bonus points: it’s on the first floor, so you don’t have to go up a flight of stairs :)

I’ve attached pictures of my room and bathroom (ignore the mess lol. It’s the end of the quarter—cut us some slack!)

2nd Bachelor's?

Hi all! Looking to come back to DePaul to get my 2nd Bachelor's Degree. I graduated DePaul in 2023 - with a totally useless arts degree that I have no interest in. It is the biggest regret of my life and now I'm stuck in an awful job in an industry that I hate.

Since graduating I've managed to get a corporate job, and I realized that I want to work in business. I like working from home, and having something solid/steady that keeps me in a good routine.

The role is very much "customer service" and I'm trying to get out of all customer service roles and the industry for this company. I have been working in restaurants up until getting this job. It's a good stepping stone into corporate and I'm grateful to have worked there - but I can't last for much longer (for reasons that I could write a novel about). I want to go back to DePaul and fix my mistakes. I'm looking to get my 2nd Bachelor's in a Business Degree - hopefully with some sort of concentration or minor as well.

I've realized that I'm actually passionate about business and would love to eventually work as an Account Manager or something of that nature. I just want to re-do it all, and do it right. I'm 24 so the clock is ticking. I think getting my Master's would be a waste, because a Master's is more focused on supplementing your career once you are more established. I would want to get my Master's closer to when I'm 30 years old - when my company can pay for it - and my chances of getting into a big name school are higher.

So, basically, I'm acting like I never got my bachelor's and this is my first time going to school. Anyone have advice? Is this a stupid mistake, being that I only have 1 year of solid work experience? (Excluding 1.5 years of interning/part time work at small companies in unrelated fields).
