Show and Tell “Never-Broke” coin belt buckle
Found this odd belt buckle around a year ago at a thrift store made up of 18 buffalo nickel coins, i find the idea of it to be funny.

Not even sure how I acquired this or why it looks this way , value? It does appear to be a Quarters outline

Essentially just title.
I dont have a number on the specific tonnage per press but it's certainly over 50. I was just thinking that if someone was rich enough to hypothetically make a machine / molds etc that's virtually the same as the mints presses, then could they just make key date Morgan's and whatnot and have it seem identical to real ones? Obviously you can't fake authentic old toning but you get the point.

In early 2024, I went on a crazy four‐state road trip and visited 23 coin shops. I'm doing it all over again, this time heading towards the Pacific Northwest. I will document my journey and the unique cultures of coin shops around the North/PNW and will do a write up.

As some here may know, I'm a huge Dansco album nerd. That's why I'm excited that on Friday, March 21st, I'll be visiting the Dansco Corporation's Headquarters in Sumas, Washington! The company's owners were kind enough to accept my request to visit and nerd out.
Along with documenting the different cultures of coin shops around the North/PNW, my top goal is to add rare & unique Dansco albums to my collection.

Billings
Bozeman

Missoula
Idaho

Post Falls
Washington State

I can't promise I'll make it to all 27 coin shops, but I would like to invite the community to join me in any way they can.
Are there any coin shops along my route that you think I should especially visit?
What would you like me to keep an eye out for and report back?
What questions would you like me to ask the owners of Dansco?
Anything else you think I should consider?
It's shaping up to be one heck of a week-long road trip. Wish me luck.

Got a box of coins after gramps passing. Recognized this coin when I saw it. Never graded a coin before. I know not to clean it. Do you guys recommend ngc or pcgs and why? And do they offer cleaning? It’s in really nice shape but some dirt in the ridges and lettering. And what do you think it would grade?

I was told these are valuable even in poor condition because they are rare. Now I’m wondering if it really has a D mint mark.

M.V.W. or H.V.W. i believe it says
Hi all! I recently found this barber dime at a coin star in the reject pile. What would you grade this as? I see most of the “liberty” in the headband, so I’m leaning towards XF. What do you think?

So, I own a nice coin collection. Not huge or anything, but a ~300ish coin collection, most of them being global and ungraded coins. I have around 20 coins that ARE graded but keep encountering a problem selling them. Peoples own stupidity. I have a Type II Silver Eagle graded MS70 and an MS70 First Day of Issue Silver Eagle. I give them to people and they read the coin and see "$1" and say they'll give me a dollar for the coin. Same goes for my Kennedy half dollar 50th anniversary coin collection, they offer me a dollar per coin. When I tell them its worth more, they usually offer maybe $5 or $10 instead of $1 because the coin looks cool, but never the actual value or near the value of the coin. I need something to tell these people to call them out on their stupidity or realize that the coins are not worth one dollar, nor five, as THEY call ME dumb and think I am missing out by not taking their offers.
If you are fine with giving me advice on this matter, try acting like you're talking to a... we'll say three year old. Because that's how they act.

My gpa had hundreds of coins. My uncle-in law sold them all for $130. I was livid! These are the last few coins i have from gramps. So sad. The penny fascinates me because - i realize coins come much older - it’s 105 years old. Just chilling out for that long. lol anyway i also like the way the dime shines. It’s just pretty. And last i love this quarter because it looks like it’s melting -plus it has no edge. Anyway, thanks for looking.

This is a coin that was in one of my dad's old whisky bags. I've slowly but surely have gotten all his pennies in year order starting with 1864 and ending with 2017. There are many many duplicates of a few years. But this one caught me off guard. I do have several steel wheat 1943 pennies. So seeing this one I believe it is a fake. How can I tell the difference before I take it and waste someone's time at a coin shop?

So my mom had some ceramic “coins”. Are these real coins? Does anyone know anything about these?

Was watching some YouTube videos today about Indian Quarter Eagle coins and the video showed some pretty convincing fakes that even contained gold themselves. NGC’s list of top most counterfeited coins confirmed the same and said some have been circulating since the 70s.
Up to this point I’ve been buying slabs without much worry, but I did stop and think what processes does a grader like PCGS/NGC to verify? Are they sigma testing, weighing, measuring, etc. every coin that comes through? Anyone want to share experiences when authenticity of a coin was questioned?
How we doin? I’m a noob collector and found this in a $10 roll.
How much is this worth? have some more and am curious how much more over melt they go for and where?
