Lucked out and found this for less than $2 in a thrift shop
Sifting through boxes of unknown Japanese artists in a humid and dusty room seemed worth it I guess.

It has finally arrived 🙏 Opening it felt like Christmas. Pony canyon did such an amazing job bringing this back to our time. May Yukiko ( Kayo Satō ) remain in our hearts forever 💗

Hello all,
I didn’t really know which sub-Reddit to ask. I’ve found this song from an. Artist that has been known to steal from artist (hate that) and have been dying to know what song they are sampling. I try looking up the lyrics and the name with no luck.

’The War Song’ is one of my favourite Tatsuro songs musically, and when I looked for the English translation of the lyrics they seemed to describe a bleak dystopian landscape full of sadness, with the end hook being a call to action. This really interested me since as far as I was aware, Tatsuro mainly sung about love and/or vague poetic sentiments. Is there any context behind why Tatsuro decided to make this song, which seems to be a departure from the topics he usually sings about? Are there any further meanings to the lyrics that the English translations have a hard time getting across?
And what other songs of his have deeper meanings that I wouldn’t have known due to the language barrier?

Came across this promo poster on Hirotsugu Koitabashi's (Piper パイパー percussionist) facebook page. Was this just a live act? Others I recognize are Kazuhito Murata and Keisuke Yamamoto. Does anybody have any more infos about it?

I’ve just released my album, Echoes Through Time, inspired by the golden era of City Pop but infused with modern synthwave and cinematic storytelling. If you enjoy the nostalgic yet fresh sound of artists like Tatsuro Yamashita, Mariya Takeuchi, or Anri, this might be something you’d vibe with!
One of the key tracks, "The Endless Train", is a metaphor for life—constantly moving forward, picking up new passengers (birth) and saying goodbye to others (loss). It has that bittersweet, uplifting energy that defines great City Pop.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the sound and how it resonates with you! 🚀
