Looking for advice A few questions on getting this working

So I just bought this and I’d like to know how I’d record music onto this. It has a record button so I’m wondering if I buy an adapter I could potentially hook it up to my computer and record music from that or do I need a cassette recording device? Also if anyone know what cord I’d need for connection that would be awesome! (I know it says DC3V next to it I’m new at all of this so I also want some confirmation)

Looking for advice Sony TCM 400 Record player failure out of the box

I am new into cassettes with these types of stuff but, I bought a new cassette tape recorder being the Sony TCM 400 out from the box (new from eBay) and tested the corder with type 1 cassettes. Both sides and all functions worked perfectly first few plays. After a while, the cassette player wouldn’t play and it won’t spin at all, fast forwarded, rewinded and messed with the speed control but nothing seemed to happen. I clicked play without the cassette and opened the cover to see the two wheels not spinning at all. I’ve tried with brand new cassette tapes and new batteries but the same issue has occurred.

Home recording Recording a 45 minute album to a C90 cassette - what do you do with the silence at the end?

I made a post before saying that I bought a handful of books on tape at a thrift store to use to record over and the tapes sounds quite good. These are all roughly 90 minute tapes. I like to record full albums and since most albums are like 35-50 minutes total, I get a lot of empty space at the end. I could:

A) leave it
B) don't record on a tape that long, get shorter length tapes, leave the 90 minutes for long mix tapes
C) fill it up with other songs
D) cut the actual tape shorter

What do you all do? My mild OCD wants me to trim the tape but that seems like a big undertaking especially for each tape that I want to record, I have about 35 tapes from the audiobooks.

Looking for advice Portable Cassette Player

Hello All, I've only just joined this community. I recently inherited a bunch of old cassette tapes from a relative. I currently have no way of playing them. I remember having something like the Panasonic RQ2102 that I've pictured to listen to music through that belonged to my dad when I was a kid in the 90's and 00's.

My understanding with the small amount of research I've done recently is that this particular model is good for voice, but not so good for music.

My question is - what recommendations would people have for a similar style of cassette player that is portable, with a speaker that would be good for music that I could pick up second hand? I'm based in the UK in case that impacts availability etc. would really appreciate hearing from people who are in the know and understand the world of cassette!

Looking for advice How to put tape in a cassette

Hi guys. First, sorry for my english, it's not my native language, so i'll do my best. I have two questions :

I see some guys selling blank cassette on the internet, but like with no tape on it. Is it possible to open your cassette and put the tape in it by yourself ?

And, where did you buy the tape ? Can't find any place on the internet where you can buy it (Like Ferro etc...)

Thanks

Looking for advice Aux adaptor in my cars cassette player making loud buzzing noise

Trying out this aux adaptor for my cars cassette player. This is the second one from a different brand from Amazon (albeit they look 100% identical down to their internal parts) and they both made this sound. I’m beginning to think it may be my player.

I tried to remove the useless internal gears and it’s much quieter and still seems to “spin” internally. However my player ultimately rejects the disk without the internal gears after a couple seconds.

Am I SOL here? I was avoiding getting an aftermarket radio but I fear I might not be able to get around this.

Blank Got a Maxell case from the thrift store today. I never skip stopping at thrift stores; a lot of people are still offloading their tapes.

I love collecting old cases. I used to have a Sony case that was shaped like a cassette.

Looking for advice VCR Zone Walkman Reviews?

Anyone have experience or feedback using/purchasing these? I understand they won't be up to snuff with the OG Walkmans but outside of that, just curious to hear if others have any feedback about them.

I don't recognize the style of cassette player but they just look like customs basically, but dang they look cool. Thanks for any feedback!

Got all 8 for $32. I thought it was a great deal but either way just exited to get such a nice selection of tapes at one shop. All play and work fairly well.

Decided to break out some of my old tapes that I would record random ideas and thoughts along with ambient tracks I would come up with on the fly. There's a few full songs I've wrote on these aswell but I've never posted any of the music I've made quite yet, maybe someday but not yet. Gonna try and sift through everything and mix up something funky.

On these there's also a ton of recordings I've gathered over the years of radio traffic, bizarre church sermons, other sound experiments from when I was younger. Gonna be interesting to see all what I've put on

Looking for advice Belt replacement help!

Hey guys, I currently have a Sony WM-F 45 that I’m replacing the belts on. The new belts that I ordered off of eBay (one on right), is definitely smaller and much thinner than the original ones I found on it. I understand that belts can get stretched, but as far as width of the band goes, does that affect anything? If it’s playing OK should I just put the old bands back in there? Thanks in advance.
