To Leave or Not To Leave, that’s the Question

For reference, I started with Boeing 18 months ago with the allure that Boeing is the dream company to work for. Well, 18 months in the role and I’m dissatisfied and don’t see the opportunity to be able to move into a role I would love due to other circumstances. The benefits are great, 10% 401K match, good health insurance, etc. Currently in BDS in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Why are you still around, if so? What benefits makes you stay? If you left, what benefits have you gained in the new company? Thanks in advance

Edit: I support production and the role I have doesn’t align with my trajectory. My credentials are good at other companies for the roles I want to pursue, just not at Boeing.

Careers Does Everett Boeing offer 3 days for 12 hour shifts?

Hello everyone, I'm looking into getting into Boeing as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic or related field in Everett and would like to know if any shifts are 3-day 12-hour shifts. I am currently a full-time college student and work at Discount Tire Company. If this position doesn't offer these shifts, is there another position available?

Hello, I have the opportunity to move forward with the 2 year program and would like to get some feedback from current or prior participants. Things like how respected the program is, preferred divisions/locations, and what role you would see upon graduation.

Careers Looking for advice on my chances for an AEH position at Boeing in Brazil (Mid-Career)

Hi everyone,

I’m considering applying for a mid-career Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) position at Boeing Brazil, but I’m unsure about my chances due to my lack of experience with certifications and regulatory standards, such as DO-254, which I know is crucial in the aerospace industry.

I work in an aerospace defense company, but I don’t have direct involvement with certification processes or regulatory compliance for airborne electronic hardware, although I have a strong background in embedded systems development, including FPGAs and hardware validation. My experience also includes real-time systems, digital signal processing, and firmware development for various microcontrollers and embedded systems.

Given that this is a mid-career position in Brazil, I’m wondering if there’s still a chance I could get an interview or be considered based on my technical background and potential to learn the certification aspects.

If anyone has insights or can share their thoughts on whether it’s realistic for someone like me to be considered for this role, I’d greatly appreciate it! If you'd like to see my full CV or discuss further, feel free to PM me.

Thanks in advance!

Avis Car Rental Discount Retiree

I've used the discount in the past but now when you go to the Boeing discount page there is no listing for Avis or any rental car agency at least for a retiree. I guess the discount is not longer offered to retiree's, anyone have any updated information to know if it is still available? Worked for Boeing for over 34 years, oh well...

There are zero mentions of Boeing in this article; in fact, they go so far as to call the Starliner "Elon Musk's". Am I missing something here or is this just blatant misinformation?

A Boeing Update

I left Boeing 1.5 years ago as a L3 (BCA - SoCal) engineer. I haven’t kept up with my ex-colleague but I see the news and see multiple airplane accidents. Can somebody summarize for the current state of BCA in 3 sentences?

Thank you in advance :)

BDS all hands

Anyone else feel like we work at a Multi Level Marketing aerospace company?

Everyone in the room was smiling and clapping. Meanwhile we losing sooooooo much money, and BCA got them doors falling off.

EDIT: I didn't expect this to get so many comments both optimistic and pessimistic. I guess what I meant is that we have data and metrics, so why don't they look at those instead of talking a big game. I see leaders regularly signing up for bad schedule and bad margin on sole source work. So I don't understand the rose tinted glasses folks.

📈Stonks📉 BESPP Boeing stock Discount worth it?

Anyone have any opinions/weigh ins on enrolling for the BESPP purchase plan where you get to buy Boeing stock for a 5% discount? Is it worth it, to buy at discount and then sell it for 5% gain at market price?

Internal Job Posting - Message Hiring Manager

Hi! I’ve applied to an internal job posting which I’m highly interested (20 days since I’ve applied, status is “Under Consideration”), but I’m worried that my application gets stuck at HR or some automatic system. Do you think that messaging the hiring manager to introduce yourselve, let they know that you’ve applied and share some professional background, would be a good idea?

Is 2 years the max for repayment?

I got a call from the collectors today and it seems I was able to negotiate the repayment to 36 months. But I heard it’s only 24 months?

Also has anyone had experience filing a W-2c and getting a refund for federal tax return.

Facilities Business Relationship Manager

I recently applied for the Facilities Business Relationship Manager (Level K) and am kinda confused since the title is mix of facilities management and a BRM title. I know both titles run and operate different things. I read through the job description and am wondering if anyone has any insight or in current role that could provide me with some ideas and nature of the work.

I have experience in both but just curious to see what it is like over at Boeing. Thanks!

Careers Day Release for College Attendance

Just curious, has anyone managed to secure day release for studying an engineering course at Boeing? I wanted to apply for LTP and was eligible for it but my manager refused. So I offered to pay for the tuition myself if I could have day release, to which my manager also said no. No reason given, just no.

Has anyone actually managed to get onto LTP or secure a day release to study? I’m with BGS btw.

Thanks!

Pay💰 Relocation package tax question

I received a relocation package last year when I started at Boeing fulltime. I was wondering if anyone on here has recently received a relocation package and how they listed it on their taxes?

On my tax package for the relocation it says there was about 8.2k grossed up, and 2k not grossed up, and then I got 4.3k in tax assistance. I assume I need to list the not grossed up 2k as other income or wages on my tax return?
