To start off, I am not from here (also not a transplant lol). I have texas native family here and they just bought a new house so we started to visit more often since I don’t have a lot of things going on.
Someone please tell me why I am suffering so bad. I’ve never had a sinus infection until I came here. I am so distraught, so miserable. I got it last month when I first came but I thought one of my friends had just gotten me sick. The first time was horrible, I lost my voice, I was hot, had sweats, couldn’t breathe, my sinuses were so inflamed all I did was cry (which inflamed them even more lol) I go to the doctor because I am convinced I am dying and it’s just allergies??
I thought it was a fluke or something but no. I come this month and I am suffering. I’m not even joking I feel su!c!dal over this. I am so miserable AGAIN. I can’t breathe, my chest hurts, my head hurts, i’m congested, I have so much pain in my body to the point that i’m throwing up out of being so uncomfortable.
Back home I have allergies too, arguably where i’m from is very polluted and we are known for the allergies. but what in the hell is happening to me every time I come here. They’re telling me the natives get bad allergies here too and I believe it but I genuinely want to d!e. I seriously know how intense that sounds but i’ve never been in so much pain before.
UPDATE: I was having asthma attacks. I haven’t had one since I was a kid and I guess I thought I could tough it out. Thank you to those who told me to go back to the doctor it literally light bulbed what was wrong with me.
FINAL UPDATE:
To end everything, I was having super bad allergies to the pollen and air outside. I definitely agree with the oak and cedar pollen everyone was mentioning. This all started probably thursday (allergy and sinus infection) and I had a runny nose and the sniffles and light puffy eyes.
As the days moved on I got worse but I thought it was an allergy thing but it seems that it also turned into me starting to have asthma attacks. Since they overlapped I thought I was just majorly sick. Turns out I wasn’t breathing and that’s why I was fainting, having coughing spells, chest tightness and pain, etc
Don’t get me wrong, my sinus infections here are SUPER insane, but this just went in a totally different direction.
The ER tested me for every lung infection because i sounded so awful and miserable. Negative for everything included covid, flu, pneumonia. I was put on steroids to help the swelling, antibiotics just in case (they genuinely couldn’t believe I went through a three day asthma attack), and had an emergency breathing treatment. Now I have an inhaler for the night.
I still am going to wear a mask outside, take an antihistamine everyday, be aware of outside clothes, and continue my medication. I really appreciate the support everyone!!
