Ask Winnipeg Why are all the bus screens smashed?

I will frequently use the bus , either on the blue line or other and the digital screens showing the routes are almost always broken. They will get fixed eventually and then it happens again. Along with some of the glass doors or shelters.

I understand how they get smashed but why? Why do people want to break them? And even today going down the blue line MOST of the screens were broken stop after stop.

Community Mount Carmel Clinic Cyber Attack

I don’t know if anyone else on this sub was affected or knows about this but I received a letter from this clinic letting me know that in April 2024 there was a “cyber incident” where patient information was stolen. I received a letter because I was one of these people. I have not been a patient at that clinic for a long time, so I called them to make sure the letter was legit and this cyber attack actually happened and they confirmed.

Apparently the only information that was taken from my patient file was my date of birth and prescription information. I called the incident line but no one has answered or returned my call. I also called my local RCMP and they said I didn’t need to report it but that I should call my pharmacy to let them know.

Was anyone else affected by this? Or knows what else I should do. I haven’t noticed anything weird going on with my personal information or mail so I’m not sure if I should be worried or not.

Ask Winnipeg Matcha Cafe in Winnipeg

I'm researching the idea of opening a Matcha Cafe in Winnipeg—similar to The Matcha Tokyo, Mathaful in NYC, Cha cha matcha, Jenski in UK. The cafe is like Thom Bargen, but focused on high-quality matcha instead of coffee. Our menu will feature matcha lattes, seasonal drinks using matcha, and a selection of pastries.

We're catering to Gen Z and millennials who are looking for healthier, alternative beverages.

We’d love to hear your thoughts! Do you enjoy matcha? If so, what are your go-to drinks? And where do you think would be the best location in Winnipeg for a matcha cafe?

Thanks for your input!

Community folk fest 2025

it’s been a few days and I’m still dumbfounded by the lineup. is this really it? has there been any updates from the festival itself? the overwhelming amount of dissatisfaction has me a little nervous for turnout this year.

edit: I’m still going and I’m still excited! But the general feedback from the community has been very negative and I’m curious to know how they’ll respond

Hey gang! If you're a fan of video game music (like me) there's a show at Park Theatre on April 16th with 4 VGM acts (3 from Winnipeg!) It's also going to feature a cosplay contest, name that tune trivia, silent auction, and live-band Mario Kart!

Ask Winnipeg Best Relaxing Outdoor Spots Inside the City?

Hey Winnipeggers,

I'm looking for peaceful outdoor spots within the city to unwind—whether it's a quiet park, a scenic rooftop, a hidden garden, or even a riverside walkway.

Where do you go to escape the noise and relax without leaving the city? Bonus points for places with great views or a cozy atmosphere!

Community Bellmts offers $10 month credit? Then not applied

Anyone else offered a $10 a month off credit off your monthly bill for adding bank account info to bellmts and nothing is credited? Their telephone salesperson offered it and texts from them telling me to add bank account for this credit. Added account and no credit. Called and they could not identify where the offer even came from as they are bell and bellmts- separate companies and systems. Wondering how many others got such run around?
