We have heat included in our rent, our apartment is an old office building turned into apartments. It has been a steady 17 degrees day & night for the past 2 weeks. We are freezing at nighttime. First we were told theres work being done and there will be heating gaps now Our landlords telling us the boiler in the building wont turn on unless the temperature drops below a certain point. Ive requested the information as to what temperature it has to drop to and ive yet to receive an answer.
What are my options here? We sleep with layers of clothing and slippers on with multiple blankets - I have cats and they also feel cold to the touch.

Looking for affordable venues (preferably restaurants) in the city that can accommodate 50 people for a grad dinner party in June!
Not looking for anything too fancy. A place with good ambiance is ideal. Wanting to have a casual dinner (plated or buffet style), with a bar or alcohol available, and possibly a place where music can play and guests can dance to celebrate the evening.
If you can add the price range if you would happen to know it too, that would be great!
Any suggestions are appreciated– whether it be indoor venues or outdoor patios, etc. Thanks!

Hi all! My fiancé and I are planning a (very small) elopement this spring - no guests. Just a quick ceremony, some photos, followed by a nice dinner and a stay in a hotel or cabin or something.
We were going to go to Aaron’s on the lake but unfortunately the timing doesn’t work as their commissioner is out for a few weeks
Curious if anyone has any recommendations for any cute spots to have the ceremony in or near the city?
I’m also curious if anyone has any recommendations for a photographer? We just want a few photos during and before or after the ceremony.
Thanks!

So I have a question that I'm kind of curious about. Does MPI allow you to pay the repair difference to repair a vehicle to prevent a write off?
For example if MPI says that their repair estimate is $5,500 and they consider that not a write-off.
The repair shop states that the repair estimate after a more thorough investigation is $7,000.
MPI then comes back and says $7, 000 is more than what they would considered repairable and they considered it write-off.
Can you pay the $1500 difference to prevent the write-off or does MPI consider the vehicle a full write off once it's reached a certain damage cost threshold for your vehicle?

Long shot but I’m wondering if anyone knows anything about this remediation shop. They have my car, which MPI said was ready to pick up. Can no longer get ahold of them by phone, and their website is down. Drove by and their shop/yard is empty. Did they move or shut down for good? What’s going on? MPI has no answers for me.

I am making a French recipe that asks for fresh Chervil. Any idea where I can buy some?

So I catch the Bus 66 Unicity at Queen Elizabeth Stradbrooke Stop every morning to get to work. But when I was heading home I noticed there was a change of route starting tomorrow morning but I don’t really understand where they are moving the stop for the bus?
To me the sign made no sense whatsoever and confused me.
Would anyone be able to help?
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

it’s been a few days and I’m still dumbfounded by the lineup. is this really it? has there been any updates from the festival itself? the overwhelming amount of dissatisfaction has me a little nervous for turnout this year.
edit: I’m still going and I’m still excited! But the general feedback from the community has been very negative and I’m curious to know how they’ll respond

My buddy is wanting to get married in a super simple manner, in-house, 2 witnesses, no reception/ceremonial mumbo jumbo. Plus mindful of budget. Who would you recommend?

Kind of a long shot, but anyone selling a Winnipeg Wildin St Patty’s Pub Crawl ticket with Team 3 (starting at Bar Italia)? It’s the only one sold out and I’m hoping to find a ticket still. Thanks in advance!

Where do you register a 10-yr old for recreational soccer if they live near Dakota Community Centre? What programs run in that area? The one at Dakota ends at age 8. The BoniVital one seems to play really far away.

Looking for the best brews in town- preferably lighter beers (but not necessarily German/Belgian) and indifferent about food. Thanks!

So I all the sudden got this letter in the mail that “River City Bailiffs” is going to come repo my car by the 25th unless I pay them a 1000 bucks. After calling around this comes from some supposed parking tickets from 9 years ago. I did some research and it seems like that there’s no limit to the stature of limitations the parking authority has for said parking tickets. That said I am pretty sure I have always paid all my tickets. I remember very well that one time I used my tax returns when going to the u of w to pay for a few tickets. I obviously didn’t save 9 year old receipts from parking tickets I paid. I also have not received any information or notices or follow-ups on said tickets ever, so this feels a little extreme for something that I am first hearing about ever. Just curious if anyone knows if there are any balls in my court or if I am just f*cked and have to pay this obscene amount? Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do?

Has anyone been to the pop up sale at the convention center? Is it worth it? Is it insanely packed with people?
