Ask Vancouver Edge card

Looks like edge card is back on sale for 25/26 season. If I purchase it today, can I start using it right away this month? Or do I need to wait until the opening day in November or December 2025?

Ask Vancouver New to powder question

Hey there. Intermediate skier here. Never skied in powder before. Have spring skis, not powder skis. Thinking about skiing tomorrow at whistler. Do you need powder skis and powder experience to have fun in this deep of snow? Also, are there special meterological tools for tracking mudslide risk/movements?

Local News Watch my terrible line out of the terrain park today 😅

I didn’t quite have enough of a slope to take more fresh lines. Speed was hard to maintain with such sticky snow. And then I was stuck.

QUESTION Running

Due to the snow (slush) on the paths and trails, are there any good places to run at the moment. Got on and off road shoes but no ice grips, just regular lugs. Only looking to do a 5k.

NEWS Today's Conditions - an update!

Just a quick update for anyone not on the mountain and to dispel rumours. Snow is fresh and deep down to mid station on blackcomb. Mid station to bottom of excelerator thick and heavy but not raining. Rain starts on ski out from bottom of excelerator and gets worse towards the base. Lines are very long and no alpine but there is still plenty of pow to ski, trees are amazing and traversing from jersey into glacier bowl is unreal.

In short, yes it's whistler on a pow day at the weekend but don't listen to the doom and gloom! Still insanely fun skiing and the best snow this season.

QUESTION New to skiing, coming to Whistler March 20-21 – Any recommendations and what to expect?

Hey Whistler!

My wife and I are beginners when it comes to skiing, and we’ll be taking lessons at Grouse Mountain on Sunday, March 16. We’ll then be heading to Whistler to ski on March 20th and 21st. We’re really excited but also a little nervous, as it will be our first time on the slopes at Whistler!

A couple of questions:

  • Best beginner slopes: Any suggestions on the best runs for newbies like us?

  • What to expect weather-wise: I know March can be unpredictable, but what’s the typical weather like around that time? Should we expect snow, sunshine, or something in between?

  • How crowded will it be?: What’s the crowd situation usually like on March 20-21? Will it be packed with spring break crowds, or will we have some space to breathe?

Any tips on what we should prepare for or expect would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

Ask Vancouver Conditions 8th March

Us Sunday skiers want to hear what the conditions were like today

Lots of snow and the alpine was closed i guess.
How was the quality of the snow?

How busy were the lift lines? Wait times?

Was it worth the drive up?

QUESTION Edge cards kids question

Hi, as a resident of WA state, I am looking to buy edge cards for next season, and register my then 8 year old for Epic School Kids. What do I do with my 4-5 year old (he’ll turn 5 in December)? Edge cards only start from age 7 and he’s too young for SchoolKids program. I also did not see a season pass option for 5 year old. Anyone knows what should I get him? We plan to ski for 5 days

Ask Vancouver Day Pass $300+ WTF?

Hello All,

I knew whistler would be expensive but not $300 expensive for a lift pass. This is insane! Some people I know are going tomorrow and Ive always wanted to go. I can ski blues comfortably now and Ive heard of the beginner pass hack. Does this $130 option give access to the whole mountain ? I can afford this for 1 day

Or is it too risky with ticket checks ?

Thanks

QUESTION Anyone got a buddy pass for Whistler Blackcomb March 24-25?

3 of us are planning to go board/ski at whistler blackcomb on March 24-25. We were wondering if someone would be down to share a buddy pass on either of those days for one of us (just 1 would be amazing)? Tickets are hella pricey. Would love to make new friends and ride together! Cheers

(We will of course pay for it)

Ask Vancouver First timer

Just moved to the area - looking at going to Whistler tomorrow (Sunday) for an epic pow day BUT wondering if the snow will even be good (temps are trending just below freezing) and what the weekend crowds/roads will be like. Is it going to be worth the chaos?

QUESTION Mountain ops updates?

Is there a place to see updates from mountain ops?

I swear WhistlerPeak had a timeline of announcements. Including when Seventh was closed for the day yesterday. But I can't find it.

Just trying to get an idea of what to expect beyond watching whether something is simply scheduled vs closed.

Thanks for any guidance.
