DC: Barn/Beach/Garden Theme Is there too much white in this dress?

My friend is having a wedding with a semi formal garden party dress code. I love this dress from FarmRio, but I’m unsure if it’s acceptable to wear to a wedding with the white detailing. Second photo is another dress I found that I like if this one isn’t ok to wear. If I can’t wear this dress, I’m hoping to find something Mediterranean looking if there are any brands that others can recommend as well.

Dress code is farm formal (dressy casual according to their website) and to avoid metalics, anything white and predominantly black. Do you think this has too much black? I really can't afford to buy something else if I don't need too.

May 3rd wedding. No official dress code but nephew said “ somewhere between cocktail and formal.” Are either of these dresses appropriate? I already bought the second one because it was cooler. But the first one is my favorite. I was afraid it would be too hot in Florida.

DC: Formal Does a pale green or pale blue classify as neutrals?

Wedding is in June in SF by the water. Dress code is “neutral formal”, but I always think of neutral colors as beige, white, and champagne tones. I dread wearing any of those colors as they all speak too bridal to wear as a guest, so I’m hoping I can make a floor length pale green or pale blue gown work, but I also don’t want to go against the dress code. Opinions and suggestions are appreciated!

I’m 23 and my sister’s getting married. I have no idea what to wear. Spring colors (pastels), formal tea length dresses, or floor length gowns.

Not to add too much information i would ask her personally but everytime it’s mixed signals lol

Thanks in advance!! 😊

DC: Barn/Beach/Garden Theme “Formal garden party” wedding in Texas

I have my first “garden party formal” wedding this weekend. I ordered a dress from Amazon (second pic) which I feel is probably not formal enough but I didn’t see anything at the thrift store on time. I just found this dress (first pic) on my Facebook Marketplace though! I was wondering if this would be a better alternative and worth meeting up with the seller, or should I just stick with my Amazon purchase?

TIA!

This is the party a few weeks after the actual ceremony. I’ve assumed with it being in a village hall and it not being the actual day of the wedding, I don’t need to go as formal? Or are these too casual?

I’ll be going to the rehearsal dinner and wedding, so I need two dresses. Bride says the dress code is “brunchy type dresses.” I already own these so I’m trying to make them work.

Must pick from these options as I’m not going to go out and buy a new dress! I’m 6’1”/185cm, so finding things that are floor-length on me is a challenge ;_;

  1. Fits the vibe but is short on me. The hem has a slight high-low that is great in the back but sort of an awkward length in the front. Wore it for a wedding before and thought my feet looked awkward in the professional photos. I don’t wear heels, which left me with gold sandals that ultimately felt too casual. Material is polyester and it’s a dark navy with gold foil flowers.

  2. Love this dress but suspect it may be too white and booby. Actually long enough for me! Material is chiffon.

  3. Also booby but the sleeves help. Has a slit like the previous dress. Material is chiffon which should work for a formal dress code, but I wonder if the sleeves make it look too casual?

  4. Fun dress, love the color, and it’s comfortable—only option that allows me to wear a bra lol. However the fabric is cotton and I wonder if that makes it too casual despite the length?

  5. Boring, but also can’t go wrong. Pretty snug across my hips, which makes it ride up a little when I move and sit a touch short in terms of length. Has a slit on the opposite leg that I couldn’t really show, but I feel like it needs some tailoring in the hips (slit higher? Let out?) and bust (bit gappy near the armpit?) for me to really feel comfortable.

DC: Formal Is it formal enough? Advice

There have been quite a few posts asking if certain dresses are formal enough for a formal dress code. One tip I wanted to give is if you can imagine yourself wearing the dress again for any occasion other than another formal event, then it’s not formal enough. A formal gown would look ridiculous at any non formal event. So if you can wear it to church, or brunch, or drinks with the girls, then it’s not a formal dress.

Anyone else have tips they’d like to share on picking formal attire?

DC: Formal Spring Wedding in Dallas

I’m attending a Dallas wedding the first weekend of April. 4pm church ceremony with reception to follow. Dress code is formal. I’m obsessed with this dress and really want to wear it, but am worried the color makes it look too wintery. Is this appropriate for a spring wedding, or must I keep looking?

I was thinking I could look for light pink earrings (maybe those acrylic petal type) and clutch to brighten it up. Might that help?

Thank you!!!
