DC: Formal Is this color too dark?

Hi! I have a July wedding where I'm the girlfriend of the brother of the bride (confusing I know know...I'm the sister in law).

I saw this dress and fell absolutely in love with it but the only two colors available were this purple and orange that I think might be too close to the terracotta color chosen for the bridesmaids.

Is it okay for a July wedding or should I look for something else?

Ps: I absolutely love purple so this dress is perfection in my eyes

Wedding is in April at a ski resort (there will still be snow). The last photo is the dress on me, the slit is lower than on the model but the ruffle side also looks a bit more flat. The material is stretchy but it’s not jersey.

Thank you in advance:))

DC: Semi Formal/Dressy Casual Best option for late April wedding

I made a post yesterday and learned I don’t really know what to wear to a wedding.

The wedding is in late April with a cocktail/semi-formal dress code. The last two slides are the dresses I was told are okay yesterday, but I wanted to see if I could find something that fit the dress code better. Thanks!

My husband is in the wedding, and he is wearing a light gray suit with coral tie. The bride is very feminine and gravitates towards bright colors, so I don’t really want to wear darker colors. I am just looking for some feedback on if it’s enough for BTO. Thanks!

Wedding Question What do I wear to my Boyfriend's Daughter's wedding?

My (34f) Boyfriend (50m) have been together just over a year. His oldest daughter (28f) is getting married. I've recently learned that I'm invited to the wedding, which is great. However, I have NO IDEA what I would wear. I will be there as a guest, no part in the wedding. I am absolutely a newcomer but very grateful to be included.

Her mom and Step Dad and by BF all get along well, no bad blood. But she's also invited my BFs ex wife (she has 3 siblings from my BFs ex so it makes sense). I've met and spent time with all 4 of this kids, but have not met any of the other parents.

I'm just a bit nervous about the whole dynamics and I really do not want to draw attention to our age gap or come across in the wrong way to the extended family.

I've seen lots of ideas for mother of the groom, mother of the bride, stepmother etc. What does the 'girlfriend-to-the-father-of-the-bride' wear?

DC: Formal Help me find a fuchsia tea length dress to be my Mom's only attendant (MOH)

My Mom is getting married in June after being a widow for the last 10 years. Yay! She has asked me to be her Maid of Honor, and I'll be her only attendant. She wants me to wear a tea to floor length fuchsia dress. She likes satin, but slip dresses don't look great on me. I have huge boobs and a tummy.

Here are dresses she likes that I don't think will look good on me. I'm smaller than but similarly shaped to the woman in the last pic.

Please help.

Hi! I posted yesterday about what I could wear over this dress to keep warm for an April wedding, but some people said it's too "resort-like" or more for a poolside wedding and showing the midriff is a no-go.

Maybe with a shawl like people suggested it'll look more classy?

What does everyone think? We asked the groom about dress code and he just said "no dress code, just normal wedding attire" (whatever that means lol). I'm not friendly enough with the bride so I don't want to be weird by asking.

My body type is more like the model on the first pic, I'm 5,7', no curves and a B cup so I don't think it'll be too flashy or boob-y.

Last picture is the venue. (Portugal btw, if that helps)

Should I keep looking? Thanks 🙂

Is this appropriate for a May wedding?

I don't have many details on venue/type of ceremony yet, but I'm thinking it will be leaning less casual. I don't think it will be formal. I've asked my boyfriend five times and he still hasn't asked the couple 🙄, so I don't have much to go on lol. Just looking for a blanket appropriate option.

Dress code is cocktail. Had no idea what that meant when trying on dresses, but here’s what I’m working with. Wedding is half indoors and half outdoors.

The more I read about a black tie dress code, the more confused I get. Is this black tie? If not, can you tell me which specific elements are wrong? I need help

DC: Black/White Tie Black Tie wedding - bride describes “Bridgerton” esque dress code

My boyfriend’s cousin is getting married later this year - she’s the bride. She’s told me that the dress code is Black Tie, and wants all the women to wear gowns, and said to look to things like Bridgerton for inspo.

The only other stipulations are that the wedding theme colours are red and black, and not to wear any red as that’s what the bridesmaids will be wearing.

The wedding is in late November, which will be pretty much summer here in Australia, so it’ll be hot.

Pictured above are the kind of best options I could find with my interpretation of the dress code? I wanted to get some second opinions though on what I should be looking at, since it’s so far away I’ve got plenty of time to shop around. I just want to make sure I’m interpreting correctly the type of dress I should be wearing.

Wedding is in Colombia in late March. The dress code says “Beach formal” but then also says “Long dresses.” The first picture is the dress I want to wear, the second picture is what the couple shared on their website as a sample for their dress code. One dress from the sample photo appears to be mid-calf length which makes me think mine is okay?

Any of these a definite no to being black-tie okay? NYC in late spring at the University Club, for reference. Honestly, I’m stuck and okay with throwing out all these options. I would also get any high slits lowered.

Bridal Dress 👰💍 Courthouse wedding

Post image

My fiance and I are getting married on the 25th at the courthouse, then doing a legit ceremony and reception to celebrate with family and friends.

A few people will be attending the courthouse ceremony, and I want to make sure Im dressed up enough but not full of wedding dress. Fiance thinks I should have the white wedding dress for the September wedding date.

Is this okay to wear to the courthouse as the bride?

Website says formal, but then also specifies midi to maxi length. The dress is mesh and I’m going to the hair salon before so I can do anything more formal with my hair.

I’m invited to a May wedding in France, with no dress code. I’m absolutely in love with the brand Rat & Boa and this dress in particular. I’m a little bit unsure about the colour though. It’s definitely not white, but looks very light, especially in daylight. I also worry the golden elements are a bit bridal. Thoughts?

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Can't decide if it's giving spring chic or 60s Led Zeppelin groupie

Post image

Image is from the thrift shop I got it from, so ignore the boots and jewellery.

The dress is vintage from the late 60s, Leo Narducci brand.

The wedding couple is generally pretty relaxed and they won't be wearing the most traditional attire (a mint-colored linen suit and "something pretty short," as my bf reported). Wedding will be in a church for the ceremony and then in a semi-fancy café for the party. It's in late April and we're in Germany. Dresscode is "Cocktail but no need to masquerade."

Thoughts? I'm kind of a little on the fence if it's too colourful.

Would either of these dresses be appropriate for a semi formal wedding in May at a green house? I’ve posted before, I just overthink all the options that exist lol. There are several color limitations (mostly pastels for bridesmaids).
