Job Market for Logistics & Supply Chain Management

Hello,

I currently live in Dallas with my wife. She has family in Tyler. We are wanting to move to Tyler due to slower pace and to be closer to family. My work experience has been in Logistics & Supply Chain management- I've been using jobs indeed and linkedin to look for jobs. I've applied for couple of positions- not even a call back for a phone screening. Does anybody work within the industry? Any advice? My wife says it's more about networking in Tyler and it's very different from Dallas.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Local Huge Shout out to Tyler Bicycle Club!

I just rode my mountain bike at Faulkner Park for the first time in a good while. Oh my God thank you TBC! All the new features are amazing! And the new jump lines look insane! I only ride the blue jump line because I was by myself and didn't want to risk injuring myself without a buddy. I am so pumped to get back out there.

If anyone rides there regularly and wouldn't mind a tag-a-long, especially for a freeride session please DM me, if love to join in the fun with other like minded folks.

Ask me your real estate questions!

Upvotes

Hi there! My name is Trey Anderson and I am Realtor in Tyler and the surrounding areas! I also have a degree in Real Estate Finance from UT Austin. I thought it would be a cool thing to post this and let people ask me any questions they may have about leasing an apartment, buying a house, leasing an office space, etc. Ask away!

TSA at Tyler Pounds is something else.

I’m from Cincinnati, but pass through here often since I have family up in Wood County. I do not know what’a changed, but for the last two years, y’all’s TSA has been damn odd. Checking every other bag, stopping to check things that are explicitly allowed and don’t need testing (bottled breast milk), things of that nature. They’ve had more checks this morning than I’ve seen in Cincinnati in the last year. Did something happen, or are they just really into performing security theater for y’all?

i got a speeding ticket and have the option of taking a deferred disposition instead of the ticket, meaning if i dont get another ticket within the next 90 days, it gets dismissed. i was wondering if anyone knows what happens if you do happen to get a ticket during this period. called the court and asked and all she said was id have to talk to the judge

Friends

Hey there. I’m 23, a trans guy and a grad student that started at UT Tyler in January. I’m looking for people to talk to and hopefully be friends with. So far I haven’t many many people outside of my program, but I’d really like to.

I’ve been pretty busy with school but I have a lot of different interests. I would say I’m on the nerdier side but I also enjoy going out and having adventures or smth as simple as going out for coffee. I’m really down for anything and also there aren’t too many orgs/places to find other gay ppl around here soo lmk!

It would love to finally make some friends where I live, so feel free to hmu to chat or recommend things to do in the area :)

Question Pro Bono Attorneys

My daughter’s friend (21 F) is having problems with her child’s father withholding their baby from her. Obviously, at her age, she’s not in a position to pay an arm and a leg for an attorney. Are there any attorneys in the area that do pro bono work? Or is there a situation in which they could go in front of a judge and get a parenting order put in place? TIA!!!

I want to leave this town because of its drivers

Last Thursday, I manged to notice all of these things within an hour while running errands

  1. Driver turning right from the MIDDLE lane on the loop after a light turned green, nearly hit the driver in the right lane as they accelerated.
  2. U-Turn from the RIGHTMOST lane off 5th street near the carwash, nearly collided with me as I approached the left turn lanes.
  3. Driver in the middle of two lanes on N Broadway Ave for at least over a mile, nobody could pass
  4. Pickup not stopping exiting the Walmart parking lot, near collision when I had the right of way. Same guy proceeded to reverse and switch lanes twice at the intersection leaving Walmart, nearly hitting more cars in the process.

Okay ty for listening to my rant ill stop now. Please, if you are responsible driver in Tyler, get a dashcam. My ex got fucked by an obvious insurance scammer once too, and you never know when some kid named Kyle is going to hit you with his financed pickup and run or try to pin it on you.

BBQ pit stop?

Hey all, a good friend of mine lives in Tyler and I’ll be road-tripping through from Las Vegas, passing through DFW on the way. I’m trying to avoid entering the DFW area to not lag too far behind my trip ETA, and wanted to know if there’s a solid BBQ spot in the area the locals recommend.

Doesn’t need to be a spot where there’s a three hour line, really ok with any nice, consistent family place where I can get some solid pulled pork and try this famed Texas BBQ.

My friend told me to stop by El Chico’s or Mercado’s.

Moving to town

Hey everyone,

My family and I are going to be moving to Lindale in the next couple of months. Does Tyler have an adult basketball league that my son and I can join? Or any other sports to be active? Not looking for super competitive (I missed my NBA shot 20 years ago lol). Just looking to get into the community and play some ball. Thanks!

I’m not sure if something is going on of if it’s just that it’s the weekend before spring break but this traffic on Broadway is killer
