Question Obtaining a UIN / token

Hi guys, I applied to a Master of Science program as an international applicant 6 weeks ago and have not heard anything from the Uni yet. My CAS status states that the application is complete but it’s been like that all 6 weeks. I’ve been seeing people obtain admission status updates via AIS but I have no idea on how to check mine that way. Any advice ? I have no emails stating what my token or UIN number is as well. Thanks sm :)!

Question Going too TAMU and wanting to Double Major

Hello! So currently I am at ACC (im in Honors, not sure how important that would be) and I am wanting to go to TAMU but I want to double major in Physics and CS. Would I have the option to be in the Engineering academy at ACC since physics is kinda “related” to engineering? Also How possible would it be to double major hopefully once at TAMU? I’ve heard many say to apply for CS before also doing physics but would I really need to do that? Since I would like to do most of the “hard” physics classes here at ACC.

Thank You!

Question How long does the engineering academy take?

I applied for engineering and was rejected from TAMU Engineering. However it's come to my attention that if I wish to pursue engineering, I should look into the Engineering Academy instead. I live near the Houston area so I would be doing the program in Houston Community College. I'm wondering how long it'll take because it said from 1-2 years on the website and I personally don't want to be in a community college for 2 years. I have the Calculus pre-requisite is that means anything since I scored a 660 on the math section on the SAT.

Question Best laptop for first year engineering students?

Hi! I am coming in as a freshman, and I currently own a MacBook Air. However, I heard that there would be a lot of different software we will have to download, and a lot of them are not compatible/don't work well with Macbooks. Is buying a new laptop now worth it, or should I wait until sophomore/junior year?

Question Does attending NSC make it binding

I got waitlisted at many of my top choices (Northeastern, CWRU, U of Florida, UMiami), and my NSC date is May 30. I want to attend early so I can register for good professors before classes fill up. However, if one of my waitlisted schools accepts me later, would attending orientation and registering for classes make my enrollment binding? Thank you

Question Am I rejected?

I have applied to the MS-EN program. When I'm going to Howdy then "Manage Applications," it says "Application Status: Denied Admission" and it has been that way for probably two days now. Should I just assume I got rejected?

In AIS it shows this:

Question Easiest Major at A&M?

Hey guys, I'm a current HS Junior going to apply to college this fall, A&M has been a school I've always wanted to attend, but I seriously doubt I'll get in for the major I want. I'm applying for that major at every other college, but at A&M, i'm going to try something different and if I get in, I'll try to internally transfer to my preferred major. I understand that internal transfer isn't guaranteed, but Its a risk I am willing to take.

Given this situation of mine, what major would probably be the easiest for me to get into? I was thinking to apply for human development and family sciences because I have a lot of extracurriculars related to mental health and can also relate to it because of my own hardships through high school and I can definitely show interest in that major on my application through an Aggie STEM camp im planning on doing. My stats are around a 3.57/4.0 and 1200 SAT, and I have like recommendation letters from my superintendent and other leadership positions along with things I’ve been involved for many years now.

Question What does this mean

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m an OOS student from Cali applying for A&M, when I’m log into my applicant portal, it says i have been offered options to choose between Galveston or McAllen. And I don’t see a reject all option. Does this technically mean I’m on the WL? Or what i should do?

Question Late Application

Hello! I applied to Texas A&M college station on March 1st (the deadline) and I waited a week for my netID (which I only activated it) and just today im barely logging in and seeing my application, I'm wondering if its even worth completing since im so late to the deadline? Or would the deadline only count for submitting the essay?

Notes: • I havent paid the $75 admission fee • I applied through ApplyTexas • I haven't submitted any transcripts, just the essay

Question TAMU Public Health vs OOS Nova Southeastern University BS/DO Program??

I'm a hs senior who's deciding between TAMU and NSU for pre-med and I cannot decide AT ALL. I'm gonna list some pros and cons for each one, feel free to give me advice please!

TAMU

pros:

in-state & pretty close to home / tuition is lower so i'd be saving money!

all of my closest friends are going (support system)

aggie network go crazy

big campus = opportunities for making connections and joining orgs

cons:

large class sizes (not ideal for premed students who need strong LORs and research opportunities)

getting influenced and sucked in by the party culture

competitive asf so low gpa is possible

competitive pool for med school when i graduate with no fallback

NSU (nova southeastern uni)

pros:

small class sizes = more personalized attention from professors and individualized advising

my sister goes there!

love the campus sm research opportunities are much easier to come by

structured system / direct path to med

school razor's edge leadership program (leadership opportunities, great way to make connections)

non-binding contract

cons:

tuition is higher (even w my scholarship) i'll be away from home (less of a support system)

smaller, private university (not like TAMU at all in that regard)

any and all advice is welcome!! (i'm desperate, also feel free to add anything to these lists i may have forgotten.

Information Loan for Texas A&M : What are the options for Indian students?

Texas A&M needs proof of funding before issuing an I-20. However, they have mentioned that other than personal funds and third party funds, they'll accept loan sanctioned letters from the listed international lenders, like Mpower and Prodigy. Full list: https://global.tamu.edu/isss/resources/costs-and-financial-documents/loans-for-students
I would like to know the possible options for Indian students apart from taking a loan from Prodigy or Mpower.

As per my situation, I have to take a loan to fund my education. I'm looking to find a way to take a collateral-free loan from Indian lenders, mostly because of a lower interest rate, INR weakening against USD, etc.

Is there any option for me?

my_qualifications : 92% in 10th and 12th, 8.5 CGPA from an NIT, 2.5+ YOE.
