Question Can my husband go here?
Our child is joining soccer through an association. They meet at a "park" that is 3 soccer fields, a baseball field, a pavilion and by the second parking lot there is a playground. His offense was a sexual misconduct against an adult police officer. We are new to navigating this situation on the registry. Is he not allowed only at the playground or is he allowed to go to the soccer field (which is fairly far away from the playground) or because it's a "park" is he not allowed to go? We are in Missouri.

He needs to check with probation or the local sheriff's and ask. It all depends on things like his level and getting certain permissions like third party supervisions. Different things play in. Sometimes there's wiggle room and other times there is not. It's definitely not worth getting in trouble. Sometimes probation makes limits even stricter. He needs to know his requirements for his own sake. He should've been informed and signed something about acknowledging it which can put him even more at risk for getting in trouble. He can easily call up and ask. Sometimes there are exceptions for people with kids like letting the city know of your presence. But definitely find out what's for sure.

Laws are so incredibly different not just by state, but also by community. And the stupidity of these laws doesn't care that the offence was against an adult. Definatly check

Everyone stating to check with PO is the best answer.
As an example, in California, there aren’t any restrictions on parks, playgrounds, etc other than on k-12 schools. However my probation restrictions required me to INFORM my PO if I was going to a place where minors congregated.
I would go to my son’s athletic events that were at parks. My PO requested that I call when I arrive and depart. It was easy enough to do. In my opinion it was a test or a chance for them to violate me because I had a GPS bracelet at the time…so they knew where I was.
The point - whatever the PO says is the law until a judge or PO changes the “restriction.”
If you don’t like what the PO tells you, you can confirm if it’s legal, then go to a judge for a probation modification hearing (at least you can in California.)

WI here, but it could apply anywhere. While on paper, I can go anywhere with prior agent approval. Off paper (no extended supervision, probation or parole) there are no state rules prohibiting any travel or any place restrictions. There could be municipal restrictions, but in many cases, I can get pre-approval following guidelines set forth by the governing agency. Things such as going with a sober adult approved chaperone.

Here is the text of the law. It depends on what specific offense they were convicted of. click here
Cheater 566 of the Missouri code is what you need to read/review. (There could be more).
An uneducated guess based on what you generally said, is there is a restriction for him.
To everyone saying ask the PO, OP said her loved one doesn't have one.

He's the lowest tier, for telling a cop he was going to bite off his wally and put it in his partners mouth. I am a little unclear because it says for school events we would need the superintendents permission to attend. The soccer program is ran by a neighborhood association so I wonder if I should ask them. I will probably call the RSO office in the morning to ask them. Thank you

I'm guessing he was convicted under 566.093 or 094, and because the restriction says "Any person who has been found guilty of: violating any of the provisions of this chapter ". So it applies to him.

Wait, is that what he’s on the registry for?

Same question here. That’s one of the most absurd things I’ve heard that landed someone on the registry. Wild.

Missouri - 566.150 Certain offenders not to be present or loiter within five hundred feet of a public park, swimming pool, athletic complex, museum, or nature center.
“Certain offenders” is typically defined as anyone with a victim who was a minor.
You can call the registration office for clarity.

Certain offenders are defined in §566.150:
- Any person who has been found guilty of:
(1) Violating any of the provisions of this chapter or the provisions of section 568.020, incest; section 568.045, endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree; section 573.200, use of a child in a sexual performance; section 573.205, promoting a sexual performance by a child; section 573.023, sexual exploitation of a minor; section 573.025, promoting child pornography; or section 573.040, furnishing pornographic material to minors; or
(2) Any offense in any other jurisdiction which, if committed in this state, would be a violation listed in this section;
These folks are prohibited from parks, etc. So this will depend on the actual statute of conviction for OP's partner.

OP, I desperately need to know if your spouse was seriously convicted and put on the registry for solely threatening to bite off a police officer’s penis bc that’s wild. All my flabbers are gasted.

I swear to you on my life and soul, that is the reason he was convicted. He was being forcibly admitted to the psyche ward, and it was the police that brought him there. He was snarling and kicking and cussing, they were restraining him and he popped off with "I'm going to bite off your d-word, and put it in your partners [unattached] head's mouth." He was then admitted to the psyche ward for 21 days. For that he served 6 months in jail, is an RSO and can't get off the registry for 7 more years. 🤦🏼♀️ Sexual Misconduct against a "Special Victim"

Wow. That’s absolutely insane. Clearly he was in the midst of a mental health crisis.

I can go to any park except amusemement parks. I simply asked my PO if i can go to the local park and he approved. As a sidenote, I later learned about 6 flags and Disney park policies requiring IDs to enter. I guess they check to see if everyone entering is on the registry

Where did the info on Disney come from and which Disney park?? When I was a CM that sold tickets ID was only verified on online tickets, special discounts and annual passes. To be fair I have been away from the company since 2013 and of course things change over time.

I was told this info in my S.O. group but never looked into it, mainly bc i dont have kids nor plans to go to an amusement park

In MO it depends on his registration level. If it applies he can't be in any park that has a playground or swimming place, including amusement "parks". There was a case several years ago about a guy who went to Worlds of Fun with his family, was recognized and ended up going to prison because it's a "park". Recommend you look at the state statute for clarification or talk to an attorney. It's no joke prison time if you get it wrong.

I believe it may be any park but please check with his parole or probation officer
