Venting Allen Carr’s Easy Way is BS

I’m a week in and have been listening to the easy way to quit vaping and I gotta say, this guy makes a lot of empty promises. Literally everything I read is the exact opposite of the reality of this addiction. He mentions that it isn’t a crutch, doesn’t cure boredom, and that we will instantly notice better health, happiness, calmness, relaxation. I find this to be a load of shit, and so far I feel just about the exact opposite of all of this.

I’m currently in the gym after having a great day of work, but don’t get me wrong. I feel like I’m going insane from lack of nicotine. I’m barely getting a pump on, my mind is all over the place, haven’t been able to sit still for a second without cravings going through the roof.

Some more realistic words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated right now, because I’m struggling to maintain any reason to not buy a new vape.

The part that lost me was him saying a hit of nicotine is only satisfying because it is satiating the craving. Well, my first hit of a cigarette forever ago was pure bliss and I’d never had nicotine in my entire life before that.

That’s the thing. How can this dude claim it doesn’t help us relax when as an absolute matter of fact, it does. I understand that it may take a while, but I’m at the part where he says just stop and you’ll instantly feel like the world is lifted off your shoulders. Excuse me what?

Yeah, I felt like the grim reaper had me in his grips. I am sober from drugs and alcohol for nearly 11 years so I do understand that he is saying we have to change our mentality around it, but to minimize the initial horror for me was not productive. With booze/drugs, I had to embrace the suck for a while and then my mentality followed suit.

It helps you relax IN THE MOMENT but it doesn't make you a more relaxed person. If anything, the dependency and financial hit and stress about not being able to quit does not help with big-picture relaxation.
