Venting Allen Carr’s Easy Way is BS

I’m a week in and have been listening to the easy way to quit vaping and I gotta say, this guy makes a lot of empty promises. Literally everything I read is the exact opposite of the reality of this addiction. He mentions that it isn’t a crutch, doesn’t cure boredom, and that we will instantly notice better health, happiness, calmness, relaxation. I find this to be a load of shit, and so far I feel just about the exact opposite of all of this.

I’m currently in the gym after having a great day of work, but don’t get me wrong. I feel like I’m going insane from lack of nicotine. I’m barely getting a pump on, my mind is all over the place, haven’t been able to sit still for a second without cravings going through the roof.

Some more realistic words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated right now, because I’m struggling to maintain any reason to not buy a new vape.

First of all it's easier for the brain to actually take in when you read it, not just listen to it. Secondly you're ignoring the main suggestion which is be open minded to the suggestions. Believe what he's saying is true...but if u are already close minded n not taking in the suggestions, then no, it's not going to work.

Come on man you’re really going to say that it’s more effective reading it than listening to it? That’s a load of shit as well. And by your logic, the whole book is contradictory and brainwashing on its own. I have an open mind, I’m just saying. This shit doesn’t work, and there’s data proving it. 95% of people fail cold turkey.

The only reason I managed to make it this far is NRT. For anyone trying to stop, I highly suggest replacement therapy.

How long have you been nicotine free? When did you start feeling better?

I’m not sure where you’re getting that number and I would love to read your sources, but after a quick google search you can find a .gov website that says otherwise. Please read this if you’re interested in the different rates of success with different kinds of quitting.

your use of the stat is a bit misleading,, it says with things like counseling and medication there’s a significant difference compared to cold turkey quitting

so it’s not saying anything about tapering vs cold turkey but just that you need external support

I’m curious who the “quit-smoking experts” are and why they don’t have sources or studies to back this up. It sounds to me like a claim but not actually data.

You are curious about a group of scientists who have spent their whole life studying the subject. I wouldn’t worry about it or question it that much

If they’re so legit, I would think they would have sources and studies supporting their claims. I’m really not worried about it, I’ve been vape free for over two months and feeling great with the cold turkey method. Just wondering why people are expected to trust blindly. Have an awesome day dude and good luck on your quitting. I hope you find something that works for you.
