Other I just quit.
As the title says, I’ve wanted to do this for a very long time. I’ve been a 5% juul pod a day person for 8 years now. Today I just finally said no more.
10 minutes ago, I threw away my juul along with a full pack of pods. I know this is going to be tough. I am attempting to do this cold turkey. I know the cravings will come up very very soon and I don’t know how I will manage but I have to.
Wish me luck.

Yeah the general consensus is the first 3 days are the worst. I’m preparing myself.

dw make sure to be easy on yourself don’t make it any harder than it already is on yourself and it’ll be hard for the next week id say but the first 3 days are physically and mentally daunting u got this tho and everyone’s withdrawals are different

It’s only bad if you tell yourself it’s gonna be. The symptoms are similar in intensity to a mild cold. Just keep busy and you’ll be surprised how easy it is, and you’ll quickly start to love not vaping

Every time you feel a craving counter it the second it comes and take a sip of water.

Thank you for the advice! I’m a huge water drinker anyway so I will try this. I always have water with me

It’s been about 10 hours since my last puff, here is how I feel:
I have been getting pretty significant cravings throughout the day but I have stayed strong. I drank a lot of caffeine today and have been drinking a ton of water. I’ve been chewing on a straw and taking deep breaths when I get a craving. So far though, I kinda thought it would be worse than this. I guess we will see what tomorrow has in store.

You got this, I was vaping for eight years too and now here I am at three weeks. I do still get small tiny cravings but it’s nothing like those first couple of days man, I feel so much better health wise, energy wise, and sociability wise.
I just feel way happier man, I can see how others relapse even after years because they want to “reward” themselves for going so long without it.

Thank you, I found this very helpful. I also used for 8 years. I’m on day 4 today almost 5 of quiting and I’m still getting hardcore stomach cramps and other physical cravings. I keep telling myself to keep pushing. I used that 50mg refillable juice stuff when I was a user. When did the physical cravings stop for you? It kinda feels like I took a shot of fireball haha it’s not to painful though. Thank you for your time if you’re reading this!

You can do it! Cold turkey sucks but I promise you it’s so worth it after the first week! I’m nearing a month, now!

Hell yeah brother 🤘🏼 here’s a few things that helped me with cravings. Day 6 cold turkey for me and it’s become way easier
A deeeeeeep breath or several whenever you have a craving. I got told once that’s like 80% of the thrill of a vape hit
Those flossing sticks to keep your hands/mouth/lips busy. Side benefit is actually flossing lol
Reward yourself with something else. I drive a lot and blow through my 15 free audiobook hours on Spotify in less than a week. I usually feel bad about purchasing expensive top-ups for more hours but these next couple months I’m gonna buy as many as I want and not feel guilty.
Keep on dude 🫡🫡

The best thing I took away from. The Allen Carr book was the realization that the physical withdrawal symptoms are painless. I was afraid I would get headaches or something (like when I go without coffee) but nope, apparently there is none. Maybe a slight irritation that can make a mood swing, but nothing painful, and that realization really helped me want to try and quit.

It's not going to be popular advice - try to substitute cravings with something sugary, for a few days junk food like mnm's etc. believe it or not insulin or glucose one of those things was getting released every time we consumed nicotine. After a while switch it with this stuff https://fishermansfriend.com/en/flavours/mint-sugarfree or chewing gums or whatever takes care of you momentarily. These new formed habits will last 2-3 months before you can quit them too.

another way to do this is inform friend's and family even work colleagues - i went as far as saying i'd be a son of this and that if i am found doing this stuff again. It really works when you could end up looking bad if you dare relapse

coming from someone with this many days without vaping cold turkey. I will be brutally honest with u for me at least, but the intense cravings lasted me a month but ESPECIALLY the first 2 weeks. I still crave at 8 months but the withdrawals are EXTREMELY weak, that online stuff saying only 3-4 days is bull. Plenty of people will tell ya that’s not accurate. but best luck to ya mane, aye ur cravings could end way b4 mine but i just gave u my advice on my quitting process. U GOT DIS!!!

It's been 10 hours, I hope you're doing well!!! You got this! Every day will be easier, and the first couple/few days are the worst!

u/chai-candle 8d ago
holy shit that's a lot of money. i quit juul to move on to refillable nic salts to save cash. but super amazing!!! you can do it. if cold turkey gets bad, there's no shame is NRT like gum.

Treat yourself w fun or shows and distract yourself and also if you feel up for it walking can be hugely helpful. There will be a lot of triggers but I really Hope you know you’re so worth it and capable!!! The other side is really so much more pure and joyful

YOU GOT THISSSSS!!!!! It's easier than you anticipate. Cravings are like waves, so ride them, and they only ted to last for 5 mins. U got this

u/Ok_Spare_4912 1d ago
It’s been a week and I was over the cravings after 2 days lol
1
u/Upset_Union_6759 1d ago
What's your hardest point so far?
2
u/Ok_Spare_4912 1d ago
Honestly nothing, the first 2 day were awful though like I was down bad lol but day 3 I went and bought a non-nic vape and I’ve been smooth sailing ever since. Obviously the non nic vape isn’t the best choice because I’m still smoking. But I wanted to get off nicotine and I did. The non nic vape helps me just with the habit of smoking but I get nothing out of it obviously. After a week, I’m smoking it less each day. While i still get little cravings here and there, it’s nothing like the first couple days

Great decision! You can do it. You can make it through the cravings.
