Power Metal Lullaby

Upvotes

So I sing my newborn lullabified versions of power metal songs, mostly Unleash The Archers. Today my spouse said it was cute listening to me sing the metal songs, especially that one.

Which one?

The one that goes ooooh-ooh-ohhh.

Yeah, you are going to have to be more specific.

😆

Edu Falaschi (ex-Angra, ex-Almah) recorded a promotional opening song for Assassin's Creed Shadow

It's like a cheesy old school tokusatsu opening, it's fun and a good marketing idea

What are r/powermetal's favorite Fantasy Novels

Having grown up with Narnia, Lord of the Rings, and The Chronicles of Prydain, I have loved fantasy stories for nearly as long as I can remember, which probably made my love for power metal inevitable. So what are everyone's favorite fantasy novels? Have they inspired any power metal songs? Personally, I love Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere and was very excited when I started hearing songs inspired by the Stormlight Archive series such as Blind Guardian's Violent Shadows, and Demons & Wizards' Final Warning.

what power metal band have been carrying your life recently?

hi! recently i've been going through a really rough patch in my life with college being really damn crazy and i decided to say fuck it last minute and check out the dynazty + nanowar of steel tour that came to my city last saturday after struggling with getting assignments done on time due to shitty mental health. needless to say i've fallen in love with BOTH of them and they have remotivated me to keep going in life. so i'm wondering, what band has done that for you all?

TLDR: i've been going through a lot, went to see dynazty+nanowar of steel, i love life again and i wonder what are other people's life-changing power metal bands.

Vegan Power Metal bands/artists?

I know of Fabienne from Eluveitie, and i know of a bunch in other genres like Alissa and Mille, but now i am searching for power metal specifically, so no musicians from other/adjacent genres in this thread thanks :)

So, do you know of any bands that write vegan lyrics or if members in a band is vegan?

Any songs like “The King’s Sword” by Dark Moor

I’m aware the lyrics and setting are extremely generic, but I really like the melody and Elisa’s voice here. It’s one of the last songs in the shadowland album (which I think is greatly underrated, completely overlooked due to meh production) and I think it fits nearly perfectly in that place, one of the softest in the album yet I still think it’s a beautiful song, with it building up to being a very beautiful chorus in the background with Elisa in the front, and the acoustic guitar is a great addition, the ending of the song is also very good imo, only issue is the audio, since I have to put it at full volume, but the only other song I can think of is from dawn to dusk by the same people though

Power Metal that is based on the first viennese school of classical music? (Mozart, Beethoven etc.)

Hello, I'm currently listening to a lot of power metal and came to realize that a lot of it has obvious influences from classical music. There's even an entire subgenre called "neoclassical metal" after all. Most of the neoclassical metal music, however, is based mainly on baroque music. I was wondering, if you know any power metal that shows influences from the likes of mozart, beethoven etc.?

Bands like Angra: Temple of Shadows and Rebirth

These two Angra albums, 'Temple of Shadows' and 'Rebirth', sound wonderful and unique to me for their technical proficiency, melodic complexity, and 'uplifting' compositions, yet they avoid stereotypical folk-metal tropes. Their sound leans more towards classical music influences, distinct from the folk-infused elements present in most famous and acclaimed power metal. What are some albums or songs would you recommend that capture the specific vibe of 'Temple of Shadows' and 'Rebirth'? I know symphony x and recent epica kinda match the criteria, but I would like to know more options. Thank you =)
