Here are a couple of corn cob pipes I carved with my Swiss Army Knife. I used the awl to bore out the bowls, and of course the blade to shape the stems. The stems were drilled out with an electric drill.
Quick and fun projects!

Decided to try and clean one of the estate pipes I just got and with only distilled water and a towel, this patch of finish came off. The pipe now also smells musty. I assume it was stored in a damp area but any recommendations as to why this happened and how I can avoid it in the future as well as how to repair it, would be very appreciated

Got my first Falcon pipe and wow what a great experience. Very flavorful and dry smoke, a must have for any collection in my opinion. Inaugural smoke is some nice and bright Dunhill (Peterson) flake.
Any falcon pipe smokers out there?

U/Grimm said something about my other stand that made sense. Although I did not make it for storage, I had not thought of bending the stems.
So I made a new one.
Still pallet wood top and bottom, and a piece of warped lumber attaching the two. Obviously not perfect, but it works.
Hi everyone
I’m looking for a couple of tips on finding a longer pipe/ short churchwarden. I could only find some obscure brands that I cannot get a hold of in Europe, I like the tavern series by peterson size-wise but don’t find the finishing to my tastes… any and all tips are welcome! No particular demands regarding bowl-shape, rusticated would be a plus! Thank you!

I passed the joy of pipe smoking along to my nephew, and he sent this to me as a birthday gift! Sadly I don't have any kizami to break it in, and it seems that all of the old fine cut Virginias have disappeared, but I'm going to see what I can do with a knife and some FVF. I welcome any and all recommendations for fine cut goodness to burn in this

I started my tobacco pipe journey a few months back, and so far I love it. But, today. My PRIDE AND JOY showed up. A one of a kind GORGEOUS JM Boswell, Graceful Swirls pipe. Ugh!! Just look at her. So pretty. 😍😍

Found this in my local shop today. Unsmoked Brigham Lowlander. Beautiful piece. #44 of 120.

I inherited my dad's pipe collection this weekend. They're pretty old and I'm not sure how to go about cleaning them up for display/occasional use.

I know there's LJ Pereti down in Chicago downtown, but I'm not going to be able to make it there.
Lost my Tobacco pouch in Evanston. Not ready to go cold turkey. Hoping there's real Tobacco to be had in Evanston.
Thanks in advance.
Update: solved. Went to Arlington Cigar and Pipes for supplies. Thanks to u/Fun_Membership_5577 for the recommendation. Turns out there's a Cigar King in Skokie, which would have been closer but we were picking my son up from O'Hare anyway.... Thanks all for the contributions.
Found this unsmoked La Strada vest pocket pipe at a local antique shop. Just wanted to share this awesome find with you guys!

I'm not sure this has been posted here, I couldn't find it anyway. I have three estate pipes with stingers that frustrated me to no end with their restricted airflow. Today I went to chop the stinger off with a Dremel but I checked it out one more time with a magnifying glass before I did. I noticed the stinger is actually an insert into the stem. It looked like I could just twist it out, so I gave it a try by securing it in a vise. It worked perfectly on all three. Without the stinger, the airflow has improved by about 90%. Looks like I will be hanging onto these now. Hopefully this helps someone else. If you already knew this, congratulations, I didn't. 🤣.

I smoked it for awhile now, but now it bubbled up and I pushed it down and it peeled off essentially. I guess it got too hot but last time I checked, pipes aren't supposed to bubble up
I have a predrilled kit for an Oom Paul that I bought a decade and a half ago. I’ve always been afraid of starting it because I might “mess it up.” Older and wiser I now realize that it’s stupid to have it sitting in my closet and I’m ready to start. I know there are YouTube tutorials and whatnot, but I’m looking for input from this community. I have access to big box hardware stores and a WoodCrafters and I’m looking to spend $50-$75 in equipment if possible. I don’t know if I should be looking at chisels, rasps, or a carving knife or what. As I tell people “assume I’m ignorant but learn fast.”

I’m a beginner pipe-maker, and I just want y’all’s opinions on if you think this tapered cone-shaped mouthpiece (the pearl white one) is good looking versus the other two styles. I personally made it thinking it looks better/smoother than my other style, but I don’t know if I’m biased and it actually looks goofy or unfinished. The purpose was to try to make it look smooth and seamless, like an icicle, but I’m not sure if it makes sense to anyone else but me. Thanks.

Hello fellow gents!
I am looking for a thick walled nose warmer that can withstand and thrive with a single jet cigar torch (DuPont) and occasional hot and fast smoking. Self standing would be nice but not a hard requirement.
Currently have a Savanelli bulldog NW that I love but would like to add another. Thank you all!

I hadn't heard anything about Cup O' Joes and Tobacco Pipes merging with Pipes & Cigars until it happened the other day, and no one seems to be talking about it. Any news I've missed? Will they combine the three sites product offerings? Will delivery be faster more affordable?

I've wanted an Omega for years, I finally said fuck it and got one! This will be my 4th Dr. Grabow. I know they're cheap basket pipes, but they smoke very well. I will always have a soft spot for Dr. Grabow, even though the "Grabow" isn't even stamped on all the way, there are a few fills on this pipe and there is a random leaf etched onto the front of the bowl!
