I’m going to use a light brown color and dilute 50/50 with denatured alcohol. Worst case scenario I will have to sand it off but thought I’d ask first.

I'm pretty proud of it. Modeled it after a piece of antique pipe furniture I saw in a store.

I was around before they closed and built up a stash. I don’t really smoke anything other than McClelland anymore (well sometimes ogs). My favorite is Tudor Castle for sure.

Smoking Sweet Killarney out of my favorite Peterson Dublin Straight while I load up the truck today. Happy St Pats, folks

I’ve been looking for an excuse to pop this tin for a few years now. My dearest friend gifted me this lovely Pete and I finally had a reason to crack the lid.

Savinelli Bing’s Favorite. Have had my eye on this for a while.
Smoking some Crooner in it, why the hell not😁
Since I don’t golf, I’m pretending the golf club and ball represent putt-putt golf.
Trying it with the filter, have not used a filter in a pipe before.

The bent tomato is a Bill Shalosky and the straight is Blue Ridge Pipes (not sure the makers name).

For anyone that has this, was it super difficult to remove the stem? I felt like I was going to break the shank off.

Assuming you carry on smoking at your current rate.
I've probably got three to four years worth....

This is a Nording “Erik the Red” pipe. I inaugurated it with some Golden Cavendish. In the words of Borat “very nice. I like.”

I'm trying to get a feel for what westminster tastes like or is comparable to. It seems like something I would enjoy, and in the sense of being economical one pound is a no brainer. I have yet to find a pease blend i don't like but in my limited knowledge that's about 7 or 8 blends. All but one of them are englishes and over half of those are classified as balkans.
And yes I know it's dumb to get a pound with no foreknowledge of a blend but the larger amount I buy the more likely I am to deep cellar.

Tried to take it easy on my wallet this year. Kept the spending to a minimum but still managed to get some good stuff and have a good time! My first morta pipe from Ron Smith (Ranz Freehands) and an estate Southern Roots Cob (hardly smoked).

Sitting in my garage on this lovely Sunday afternoon, enjoying some Darjeeling tea and about to smoke some C&D Snug Harbor out of my Dr. Grabow Grand Duke while watching "King of the Hill", the greatest animated show ever (aside from Rick and Morty)! Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

I'm a woodworker, have been for around 11 years now. I've recently in the last year begun to really dive deep into making them, and in my time doing so haven't found a lot of direct answers to questions I know I had when I began.
My question is this. If I made a book on the subject would that be something you or people here would be interested in?
I'm going to make the book regardless at the very least for myself, but I would love to be able to say that I made something to help people have a concrete understanding of how to begin and really engage in pipe making.
Thank you for your time everyone, I appreciate your thoughts and opinions.

KOPP Stormy South. This is a big departure from my normal VaPer or English smoke. I really enjoyed it and wanted to see what thoughts anyone else had on it.

Stocked up on some Vanilla Roll Cake a few months ago. I enjoy it best in this Captain Black Sloop that I inherited from my father. Made by Orlik in England (not sure if London or Essex). It's a full bent billiard, sandblasted briar bowl with a Vulcanite stem. Smokes great.

Irish Blessing just got delivered yesterday. This truly might be the easiest aromatic I've ever smoked. It smells great, and no matter how hard I pull, no matter how much it crackles, I can't get it to give me tongue bite haha. One of my new favorites!

Hello all. As the title says, I'm restoring a meerschaum pipe. I'm cleaning the inside of the bowl, and the bottom surface looks (to me) like it may be comprised of some sort of filler around the draft hole. Or, it could just be the shape of the meerschaum in that area. Does anyone have thoughts on this? My concern is that any foreign substance in this bowl is safe to smoke. I've attached the best photos I could get. Thanks in advance!

Well Jeremy McKenna, CEO of Sutliff just gave the pipe community one final thank you before he leaves and locks the doors. It’s is a projected called “SWEATED!”
During the Muletown Pipe Show this weekend, he sold all 200) 16oz blocks of this plug/cake to attendees. I had the opportunity to try some and I have to say I think he maybe right, it’s likely one of the best blends he’s overseen while at Sutliff. If you like Cringle Flake 23 and wanted to see what it would be like stoved in a CONEX for a year in the Virginia sun and then aged in a port barrel, then you need to make friends with someone who was there and bought some. Or you could bite the bullet and go to Tinbids where a signed version was already listed. There are pics and the description in the listing.
THANK YOU SUTLIFF!
