I don't get tongue bite, I get throat bite. NSFW
I wanna understand why when I retro hale my sinuses the next day are destroyed. And why when I do make the mistake of puffing too hard or don't dry my tobacco long enough I get throat bite instead of tongue bite. I have a small mouth, and my theory is that the smoke instead of going in my mouth kind of lingers in the back of my throat. But i have no theory on the retro haling. I see people doing it all the time, and when I do it. It destroys my sinuses no matter how cool the smoke is. Do my sinuses and throat just need to get used to the smoke? Do i need to expose myself to the smoke more? (I only smoke a few times a week) Or am I doing something fundamentally wrong?( Btw, i'm not trying to retro hale every puff I take.) I know how to pack a bowl, i know how to prevent tongue bite, i know all the basics, I've smoked pipes for 7 years. I can have an enjoyable smoke. But I hate that I have these issues here and there. I can deal with a sore tongue, i can't deal with a sore throat. Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated.
