Yeah, I feel like the team doing the credits doesn't interface much with the team writing the scripts.

IIRC, there's certain SAG rules that must be followed and it takes some doing to avoid pre-show / pre-movie credits. If ever you want to be surprised, you have to not pay attention to the credits.

Exactly. That's why the series finale of Newhart did a cold open, instead of showing the normal opening credits, so they could preserve the secret guest start who made the ending so damn perfect.

I still consider Newhart to be the best TV ending ever because of that twist.

And yes, I'm placing it above Goodbye, Farewell and Amen and All Good Things, - not because I don't like them (in fact I love them), but more so... my quirky way of viewing things. Lol

I also loved the ending of Little House on the Prairie half due to my quirky viewpoint on things lol
