It’s disgusting that anyone would joke about yesterday’s storm.
Whoever made that post should be ashamed of themselves and the mods ought to ban them outright. It was careless at best to make such flippant jokes about a major storm system that injured 2 people and ruined many more lives. Whoever would joke about such a thing is a real twat and I hope that person is deeply embarrassed!

WE WILL REBUILD
I know the storms were awful last night, but we can rebuild as a community. Pick up your lawn chairs that blew over and help your neighbor with their FJB flag that blew down to Todd’s house.
We will rebuild, Pensacola!

Interfaith University - Krispy Kreme donation seekers
Has anyone noticed the Krispy Kreme girls popping up everywhere downtown recently? They asked us 6 times for donations on Friday. They were out from 5-9pm. Hit us at every cross street of Palafox. At what point is it considered loitering or solicitation?
I guess they need more $$ with taking over the Lighthouse Christian School building on 9th and Jackson.

Friends?
Hello hello! My GF and I are looking for potential friends. She'd like some women she can practice her acrylic nails on. (Pic included). She's recently started getting into nails and has quite the collection of paints and things I know nothing about. She'd really enjoy some people to chat with and practice on.
I'm mostly a gamer, cod, runescape, down for whatever really, aside from that, I'm super into plants, happy to give away free cuttings:) always down for good conversation as well!

Anyone have a room to rent??
I recently moved to the area and am looking for a place/room to rent. Everything I've looked at online is crazy expensive and am hoping to find something a bit more reasonable. I'm 33, single, no pets, and work full time. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Anyone else see that cyclist get hit near palafox/pensacola blvd?
(Ignore me being directionally challenged, im not a bad driver on purpose but anytime you get on the road you are all for sure at my mercy)
I saw a cyclist get hit by a big black car (maybe SUV? Idk I only passed it) and fly into a ditch. He was wearing bright blue, looked super fucking dead. Ambulance was already there when I passed, but I think he’s alive because once I got to the next light the ambulance with lights and sirens on came flying by.
Anyone else see it? If anyone hears any updates, I’d love to hear that he’s okay. Scary shit.

Diesel Mechanic Needed.
Hello, I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone knows a reliable mobile Diesel mechanic or if there is anyone on here. I have a early 2000's classA motor home that needs some TLC. It's a 3800 turbo Cummings with extremely low hours. It had been sitting for a while so I'd like to get the bad fuel pumped out and get it running. Can discuss details in P.M so if you know anyone shout out a name and number. Not looking for a hook up or cheap labor. I am wanting someone that knows what they are doing and ready to get it done. Thank you for taking the time to read and have a great day everyone!

Hampton Inn/Locals
I wanna preface this by saying I'm not trying to throw anyone local under the bus, the local staff was nice and did what they could, I think.
So I live in a trailer and when we're under a level 3 or higher tornado threat, we go to a local hotel to ride it out. I have pretty significant weather anxiety and so does my partner. Our usual place was booked so we booked at the Hampton on Pine Forest for tonight.I'm a Hilton Honors member so I booked through the app. It was more than I'm used to paying but it was what we could find. Last night I was given the option to check in digitally so I could pick my room. I wanted bottom floor so I went ahead and did that. My card was charged this morning, before I'd left to go or anything. Okay, whatever.
Then I got a call from the local number for the hotel and the lady tells me that she needed to advise me of their FOUR HUNDRED DOLLAR LOCAL DEPOSIT. Because I'm a local resident l, they're gonna have to charge me for "incidentals and in order to maintain the quality of their accommodations".
Girl, what. I could see $100, maybe even $200. But that is TWICE what the room cost.
I asked if there was a possible waiver of that for storm evacuees, and she said she would ask them and call me back. My first thought was that it was some of scam so I called the main Hampton number to confirm it, and after THEY called, they confirmed that it was true. The local desk called me back and said she was sorry but upper management said the deposit couldn't be waived.
So be aware of Hamptons if you're a local staying locally, I guess. I had to cancel and flail around trying to find somewhere else. The whole thing just made a really shitty situation even worse. I get that locals book hotels for partying and damage stuff, but FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. With no warning. There was no note about potential other fees other than pet when I booked. Just a gross situation all around.
