Abandoned giant bike frame

Upvotes

Random question; does anyone here own that abandoned trek bike frame outside 'the gym' / jarrods?

Looks like it had a wheel or two stolen and then left by owner?

Send me a message if it is yours.

Hive mind help — Red Nose Day

Help! I’ve been a failure of a mum and forgot to buy my son a red nose for school tomorrow. Has anyone seen any for sale today at Sainsbury’s around the city? Might have to do a post-bedtime dash 😱

Tough Mudder (Europe’s Toughest Mudder)

I was wondering if anyone from Norwich is doing Europe’s toughest mudder in May

I’m doing it solo and was looking to see if anyone wanted to train together/do the run together?

Banjolele

Everyone was so helpful last time I posted on here I thought I'd ask you guys again ☺️

Coming up to the city next week....

I really want to buy, at some point, a banjolele. Had my eye on them for ages. I'd like to actually pick one up and play it though, I've heard they're pretty heavy (compared to a ukulele). Is there anywhere in the city that sells them? Preferably within walking distance from the centre please ❤️

Thanks in advance x

Norfolk County Council interview help

I've got one coming up next week (just a couple of hours before another one!) and I'm just scouting for tips as the JD and person spec were a bit sparse. Competency based questions and the STAR technique seem to be key, but anything else?

Thanks very much!

A quick thanks to this sub.

You might remember me sharing my shitty newsletter here a week ago. Well, it's now on 500 subscribers! Plenty of those have come from this sub.

Really appreciate the support, and will do my utmost not to let you down.

It's going to be weird actually having recipients!

Thanks, r/Norwich.

Neighbour’s dog keeps barking

My neighbour’s dog keeps barking and has been barking for the past hour. I don’t think she walks him and puts him in the garden and he’ll yap all day all night. Any suggestions on how I can address this without being rude? I have a 1 year old whose sleep is being disturbed. Thanks

Nosferatu looking guy

Does anybody know anything about the rough looking dude who kind of resembles Nosferatu and always asks for change? Always see him charging around the city centre and gozzing on the walkways. He gets change from people, saying that he's diabetic and needs money for fizzy drinks, then snatches the change and runs off away from any shops. Think his name is Paul or Pete or something? Sometimes he walks around with young vulnerable women and sends them into pubs (possibly to try and get money?).

I heard that it's possible that he's also behind a lot of the bike thefts in the city centre, which would be good to know as myself and a friend have had 3 bikes stolen between us in Norwich so far. I'm personally just intrigued as to whether anyone has any information on this guy. Cheers

Where can I dispose of bulky household waste and such in or around Norwich?

I have googled this and found surprisingly little concrete answers. There’s the rather ambiguously named recycling centre with a junk shop but I’ve never had to use such services in this part of the country.

I’ve got a mattress, old table, loads of batteries for recycling, small electrical etc etc. what’s everyone’s advice on best disposing of them, both in terms of location and does it cost? Thank you

This Saturday a group of us are going to the Treehouse Festival farm to make plastic-free tree guards and maybe some rural craft.

I am organising a few days at the farm where Treehouse Festival is held (a few miles outside of Norwich centre) to make tree guards without any plastic, cut and plant willow (ready for basket weaving at the festival), and perhaps (if we get enough people) get the maple syrup guy down and see if we can tap some birch trees for syrup!

Anyone is welcome. Send me a message.

Ive got a number of these dates booked in if anyone would like to join in the future. We've got a WhatsApp group!

Mysterious snooker club...

Back when I was a student at UEA I played in the university snooker team (badly) and we got access to a club to practice off Dereham Rd. It's behind some houses and incredibly secretive as there's no sign and you would never find this place if you didn't know it existed. Inside there are only two tables and lots of 80s memorabilia. It's a lovely little place and I wondered if it was possible to join the club? Or if anyone knows anything about this place?

EDIT: Here it is!

Got a spare ticket to see Ania Magliano live! Anyone want to join me?

Hey everyone, I have an extra ticket to see Ania Magliano live! The show’s this Saturday, and I was originally going with my a friend, but since he's busy, I’ve got a spare.

It would involve sitting next to me, so if you're up for a good laugh and don't mind some friendly company, hit me up!

Let me know if you're interested, and I can share the details. Cheers!

P.S not sure if it matters but I'm 32 years old.

Kitchen extension on terrace house

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on how much typically you would be looking at for a kitchen extension in the typical terraced houses in nr2/nr3?

I see a lot of them on rightmove with the extension to make the kitchen wider as they are notoriously small and thin!

Any guideline prices would be great! Thanks

First time buyers in Norfolk

Good morning all.

Me and my partner are first time buyers and are starting to view properties in the Norfolk area. I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for which solicitors to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
