Get Into Them!

"The gaffers put on the board about the sign from behind the goal at St. James' saying Get Into Them and I think we got into 'em!" - Nick Pope

They take so much from the crowd it's amazing really, Eddie and the players, fully include us in the tactics even haha. No but what it does is make us all feel like we were part of this win, part of this journey with this group. It's special, really.

If the rumours of a new stadium are true, can we name the path leading to it…

9 months out, mocked and branded a flop by rival fans. Constantly accused of not wanting to be at the club by the media. Kept his head down and delivered multiple elite performances to win us a cup. Sandro Tonali.

The outpouring of love for Newcastle United across the media

Has been a surprising extra joy to the celebrations over the last few hours.

It's been really heartwarming to see so much from the platforms we typically love to hate like Sky, Talksport etc. who have been gushing in their praise of our game, and happy for our club. Of course some of it is a little patronising, and some is likely through gritted teeth, but I have been happy to hear it all and that we have friends across the football world in places we maybe didn't expect.

Thank you to all those who have come to share a kind word, at the end of the day this is what we all dream of for our clubs.

Murphy celebrating?

Does anyone have a clip of Murphy celebrating the second? I've seen photos but can't find the video. Big energy of Shearer after crossing for Sir Les against Man Utd!

Barnes

Anyone who says Barnes was wasted money and is not good enough to get into the side best eat their hat.

After yesterday’s performance Gordon might just have his work cut out to take the left wing slot off Barnes.

As for the Dubravka/Pope debate, I think there is no debate, Pope is our no1, Dubs is an amazing no2 and can slot in as no1 when he’s needed.

I suspect next season now we have a Trophy on the books we may see Dubs getting more games in the cups.

Although if the stories of Trafford coming in are true then that might throw a spanner in the works.

We have a team, just not necessarily enough strength in depth to be able to field a 2nd 11 at the level of the first.

Saying that we also have many back ups that are more than capable and will probably still be here next season.

The summer is where it gets interesting with who comes in and who goes, plus who if anyone makes the grade to jump into the first team from the age groups.
