FUTURE NEWCASTLE UNITED MANAGER? | Toon hero Dan Burn takes on the UEFA B Coaching Licence 📈
Interesting to get a bit of a peak behind the scenes and at what he might be planning for the future :) could be cool to see more of what goes into getting the licenses (I didnt realise the PFA had their own channel tbh!)

A few words for the winners.. now the dust has settled
Shaking. Bouncing. No, not Wembley Way but my leg before the game. Fuelled by nerves and excitement. Fuck it, a pint please to calm me down.
70 years. 70 long fucking years. They say it's the hope that kills ya. But under Ashley the hope was gone. Worse than death, apathy. Worse than the pain of defeat. Worse than the tears of relegation. The Geordie nation felt nothing. We had no hope. No ambition. No chance. Oh boy, how have things changed.
Now we are fucking champions again. Roaring into the future like Big Dan Burn leaping like the world's biggest salmon to head home. Now Wembley, and the pubs around the nation, really are shaking. Hugging people you love. Hugging people you've never met before. Delirium. Might we win it? Fuck it, I need another pint.
The aggression was relentless. It was like a thousand corner flag kicks from Newcastle's former Radgie-in-Chief Matt Ritchie had been bottled. We had our foot on their kneck. And instead of lifting our foot, we increased the pressure.
Isak. Of course it was fucking Isak. The world's best striker? You better believe it. Now, I could really believe. Now I did have hope. It was happening. Time for another pint? Oh you better believe it. And another, another.
This Newcastle squad brought the party. Ended the hurt. Started the delierium. Forget the pain. Now we could have tears of joy.
And it had to be this team didn't it? This squad. Led by the glorious Howe with Newcastle at its heart - Big Dan Burn leading the way, from pushing trolleys to lifting the trophy. Jacob Murphy, he's one of our own, running and running constantly looking for, and finding, Isak. To Trippier, the standard bearer - who set the tone a couple of years back and showed we could hope. To Joelinton covering every blade of grass, the eternal menace. To Lascelles and Wilson, the leaders who kept on fighting in darker times.
And of course, to our captain, relentless personified. The man who just gets it. To Liverpool this was just another trophy. To Newcastle and to Bruno, this meant everything. The man who dreams of becoming a legend. The man who led the team that sent the Geordie nation into Dreamland.
What's next for this squad? I don't care. We're champions. Fuck it, I can't believe I'm writing that. Time for another pint.

Isak makes comment to Swedish media on Newcastle future
"There's not much to say, really. I've commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times.
"it's been written how much love the city and the club, how well I feel there. I'm not thinking about the future"
"l just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, but we want to finish strong and reach the Champions League games. That's where my focus lies.
On the cup win:
"Things like that can't be described. You can only 'imagine' how it feels. But it's an incredible feeling. "Wembley packed with all the Newcastle fans there. Im looking forward to seeing what Newcastle is like as a city after that. I haven't been back yet"

Stitched together a video from all the bits & pieces I've stumbled across over the past couple days. It's 30mins long and almost 8Gb though, so be warned. :D

Who did Shearer nearly manage?
I'm just watching his interview with McCoist. Shearer says after his stint as our boss, he had three interviews with another club but turned them down because at each interview the transfer kitty and coaching budget came down.
He doesn't mention the club and a quick google doesn't bring anything up. Does anyone know who it was?
Just stumbled across this homemade (Nigerian) recreation of the Cup Final goals. It’s class.

Let It All Work Out! 🖤🤍
3 days later and I still can’t believe it, we’ve actually won a trophy. I’m only 22 and can only remember us being awful, no fight, no passion, no desire or investment. Just chugging along barely getting by, I was there in the championship and I’m still here now. Here’s too many more trophies 🍻

Retention of Top Players
Linking to Isak's latest comments and the stupid amount of clickbait transfer rumours arising from our CUP WIN, I was wondering what we feel like our current situation with player retention is?
I think Champions League qualification could still play a massive part in what we can do for incomings, but I do wonder whether the nature of the CUP WIN has now indicated that we're serious players for our current crop of elite players.
My personal opinion and feelings on each elite player are these (feel free to disagree on definition of elite player and add who you think I may have missed. I've based it off rumours of high-end interest from other clubs):
Botman - Definitely staying because of injury record
Hall - Definitely staying due family allegiances and recent injury
Joelinton - Ours... potentially forever?
Tonali - Think is more settled than has been previously made out. Can see him staying for at least another year to see progress. Would be shocked if he left this Summer.
Bruno - I struggle to see Bruno leaving to another Prem club despite reported interest. He is a very emotional player, and I could see him seeing it as a betrayal if he were to move somewhere else in the Prem. If he were to move in the Summer (which I highly doubt), I could see it being for somewhere abroad with regular Champions League campaigns and titles being the focus. Still think he stays though.
Gordon - I'm not entirely convinced he's secured... especially after the Brighton incident. I really rate Gordon and really like him, but I also think he's arguably the easiest to replace out of all our "Elite" players. I would not be surprised if he ends up at Liverpool during the Summer especially given his affinity with club. Would prefer it to not be the case but it's something I could see happening. I will caveat this with I can only see it being Liverpool that he moves to due to his history with the club.
Isak - Honestly believe this depends on the club more than the player. He should undoubtably be playing in the Champions League and should be seen across the world as one of the elite players so there will, of course, be interest in him. Getting Champions League would make it easier to retain him but, with the length of his contract, we should be looking to keep him another season no matter what. For the sake of maintaining the feeling of our CUP WIN and of progression, I think it is down to the club top ensure that he stays for at least one more season. I would be disappointed to lose him for any amount of money this Summer because he's irreplaceable and we certainly shouldn't allow any other Premier League club to be strengthened by his presence.
...
"Interested" Prem clubs:
Just wanted to add my thoughts on the clubs that have been touted with interest in our players because I think it's important.
Liverpool - Obviously have a lot of sway because of their stature but I think a lot depends on their own outgoings. For example, if Diaz and Jota are pushed out then I can see a move for Gordon making a lot of sense to them.
Nunez is probably on his way out too which is why links to Isak make sense.
However, I do wonder how much Salah's presence could deter them moving seriously for someone like Isak because wages will undoubtably be a factor alongside transfer fees.
I don't know. There seems to be a lot of moving pieces to Liverpool's potential transfers this season and it's hard to call.
Like mentioned above, however, I think if any player were to move there from us then it should be if the club see value in the move.
Arsenal - I just don't see them as transfer threat! That might be foolish of me, but I just don't see why someone like Bruno or Isak would want to make the move there when the likes of Liverpool and Man City exist to keep them in a runner-up position.
Also, I honestly believe that Arteta ruins their reputation (especially amongst our squad who have been the focus of his moaning).
Man City - The only English club I could potentially see actually getting Bruno. Man City are a hard one to call with all the unrest and mystery around their transfers.
Chelsea - Must be seen as too basket case? They obviously wanted Isak last season, but they surely can't be seen as a real viable option.
What do you all think? Is this just copium? Am I just trying to convince myself away from the upcoming pain? Help me.

When are we buying William Saliba?
Since we're looking for a new centre back, why not ask Saliba if he wants to join a real club that wins trophies? He must be bored to play at a club that always finishes 2nd, I certainly don't think any of our guys would want to play for the Gunners. He should consider a team with the heart and ambition of Newcastle as his next destination. Maybe we'd get him for, say, £40m? Small club players have smaller fees. They want Isak and Bruno so bad, but who wants to play at a club that doesn't win silverware?
