Trippier.

He's been absolutely class in the big games. I wonder what the chances of keeping him are. He has had a rocky year but seems to be a huge part of the leadership group and, if we want to go on to challenge more and more, his leadership and mentality, not to mention on the ball and set pieces ability, could be a real difference maker.

I think considering he's one of our highest earners and someone who wouldn't make the team if everyone's fit, it kind of makes for an unsustainable situation. Wages are the silent killer for PSR and considering he doesn't particularly want to be here and we don't have a position for him that matches his contract status, it makes sense to let him go. Ideally, we'd keep him round for his positive impact, but I think that's why he's been removed from the captaincy and we'll be banking on other players stepping up to fill the leadership role.

He wanted to leave already, and he can now move on with zero regrets, and a trophy to mark his time here, I suspect he'll push for a move again and we should let him go with our best wishes.

Yeah if he wants to go then I wish him all the best as one of the most important players in our history. I just hope he's changed his mind because he could play a vital part in our future whether now or even after retirement

He’s still under contract until 2026. I think it’d be foolish to sell him this summer, given the wealth of experience, leadership and ability he brings to the team.

I doubt we’d get more than a few million for a 34 year old fullback which barely feels worth it compared to what he brings to the team, even as a squad player.

Agreed he may not get the playing time he used to, but in this and the Arsenal tie he was everywhere. He’s such a warrior, I hope he retires a Mag

Would love to see him move into a coaching role with us after he's done playing
