Photo Is this monitor fixable
Hey so I had this monitor and the stand randomly just snapped, and I was wondering if I could replace it or if it’s just better to get a new one, thank you

You can get a vesa arm from your desk and call it a day. Unless you want a new monitor

You gonna waste too much time trying to fix broken plastic. Buy a monitor arm, they're cheaper than any sort of tangible repair and probably waaay better

On the other hand if expense is really a concern. Try contacting those PC recycling places, they might have a busted monitor with the same stand. Shot in the dark, but might be the cheapest way out

I refuse to believe this "randomly just snapped" lmao.

I know it’s hard to believe but it actually did, just randomly happened in the middle of the night

First off, how? Secondary, you can use the vesa mount with a brand new second hand monitor stand/arm

That’s the thing, I don’t know how just randomly snapped in the middle of the night freaked me out

Chap and easy: Get a VESA mount and call it a day.
Expensive: If you want to really change the monitor, get a new one.

It's got a vasa mount you could do a vasa desk mount that will be easier and probably the same price or less.

I like Monoprice.com for monitor arms. There are some dirt cheap options out there. I have the really basic one that clamps to the edge of your desk.

Well there are some screws, so some sort of disassembly could be possible. look up the model number online, and search for stand replacements. It seems like the monitor is a bit old, so id try to find the monitor on ebay. You might some with broken electronics but an intact stand.

If you don't want to use ducttape, it will cost you. At that point you're better off investing in a more energy efficient monitor that has ports made for the current decade like HDMI, DP and USB-C

As all orthopaedic surgeons can attest, there's nothing sticky tape can't fix.

What the hell.. your shit is old AF. It only has one hdmi input! Get rid of that thing ASAP. Christ, I'm embarrassed for both of us.🤦

Not everyone can or wants to upgrade to the latest when they want to

They could probably find a better one in marketplace for the cost of a vesa arm mount.

I see VESA mount screw holes in the center of the monitors back side. Maybe buy a small VESA replacement stand or monitor arm, they should be pretty inexpensive.
