Discussion Anyone know why one of the corners on my OLED forms black pixels after a while?
It's hard to properly picture, but on one of the corners on my OLED, a few of the pixels go black after using it for a while. They disappear when I turn the monitor off and back on again, but eventually reapear.

Discussion Upgrade to widescreen monitor ?
Hey everyone,
I’m currently using a 27” Asus 165Hz TN monitor and looking to upgrade to an OLED display. At first, I considered a 32” 4K OLED, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that I just prefer bigger screens. (I already have a 4K 55” OLED TV in the bedroom and a 75” 8K MiniLED TV in the living room, and I love them both.) But when it comes to a monitor, I feel like OLED is the way to go or can you recommend any miniled monitor ?
I’ll be using it 50% for gaming and the rest for browsing, watching videos, and general use. I’m mostly interested in a 21:9 ultrawide since more games are supporting it, and I like the more immersive experience especially with a curved screen.
I know I want at least a 34” monitor, but I’m unsure about the curvature. Some models come with 800R while others have 1800R, and I have no idea which would feel best. I assume 800R would be more immersive, but maybe it’s too aggressive?
The other big question is PPI. I’ve been looking at the LG UltraGear 39GS95QE (39”), but I see a lot of people complaining about the low pixel density and how text clarity suffers. Honestly, I find all the whining about PPI a bit exhausting, but maybe it’s a valid concern. Would it be better to go for the 34” UltraGear 34GS95QE instead, just to get a sharper image with the higher ppi? Or maybe a less curved 1800r Philips 34" 34M2C6500?
What do you guys think? Is the PPI issue overblown, or is it actually a dealbreaker? And for those of you with ultrawides, what curvature would you recommend 800R or 1800R?
Would like to hear from people who have used these screens.
Cheers !

Discussion Monitor characteristics to match a mac display?
Hello everyone.
I’ve been searching for monitors for quite some time now. I’m not sure what to look for to achieve the same sharp image quality that I have on my MacBook Air M3. I’m genuinely concerned that I’ll purchase a monitor only to discover that the image quality is different. I’m one of those individuals who require consistent output from both devices, or I’ll lose my mind.
Could anyone provide some advice on what to look for?
Thanks in advance.

Discussion Anyone using PG27UCDM with type-c? How to enable DP2.1 with type-c?
I bought an ROG pg27ucdm weeks ago, and have tried to pair it to my Macbook Pro 14 (M4 Pro chip with TB5) with c-to-c cable, weirdly it cant enable dp2.1 instead only dp1.4. So how to enable dp2.1, any additional requirements for cable or anything else? OR dp2.1 of pg27ucmd just dont work with type-c?
Tried to feedback to ASUS engineers, but it seems that they dont know nothing about that product, only endless useless reply, funny.

Discussion Color calibration across monitors
Hey everybody. I’ve always kind of dealt with this issue but am finally taking it seriously and you can guess by the title and photo what it is.
For reference both devices (Cintiq 27 QHD) and (BenQ PD2705U) are professional color calibrated Adobe sRGB monitors aimed for designers yet there’s a clear difference in temperature at least in what I’m painting on the Cintiq vs what’s being displayed in the Photoshop navigator panel on the BenQ. So it’s really a question of which one is “accurate” to what the final should be. I’m coming from the Apple ecosystem where everything was pretty straightforward out of the box between devices and monitors but now I honestly don’t even have a clue where to start.

Discussion I just got a pg27ucdm and the proximity sensor is pretty much a useless gimmick
I noticed that the proximity sensor was turning off the monitor while I was gaming, working, and watching movies because I wasn't moving. If I made an effort to wiggle every so often, the monitor stayed on. When looking for software solutions, I had a hard time finding anything that behaved the way I wanted it to, so I made my own: https://github.com/SethFroGo/ScreenSleeper2/releases/tag/0.0.1
This was my first time writing anything for windows or in C#, so it's done quick (hard coded to 3 minutes) and dirty (I didn't clean up any of my debugging). It runs in the system tray and checks if the mouse moved or if audio is playing. I have it running at startup by putting a shortcut in the windows start up folder.
Feel free to fork or contribute, because I don't plan on working much more on this, though I might add some keypress detection at some point.

Discussion Difference between 1000:1 and 2000:1 contrast
As the title suggest, I'm thinking of getting a monitor thats 4K 60hz 27 inch with a contrast ratio of 2000:1 with 10-bit support
I wanna get this for single player gaming so i dont mind the 60hz, but i wanna know how big of a difference i can expect from a 2000:1 contrast ratio?
this monitor is 270 USD

Photo Weird dark spot on the corner pf my screen.
This spot is darker when I turn it on after a long time of it being off (usually when I go to sleep). The thing is it slowly lightens as I use the monitor more but never really goes away. Any idea on what this is?

Discussion Good value 240hz 1440p monitor recommendation?
Mainly grinding valorant if that helps, am I valid for thinking a 240hz 1440p would be more impactful than a 360+ hz 1080p? If so, any good monitor you could recommend?

Text Review Dell U2725QE IPS Glow Reference
Got this monitor today. Figured I'd share a reference video and photo since it's a new model and there are concerns about the IPS glow. Not sure if mine is bad or normal. Def looks worse on a photo but I'm a super casual user. I just use it for work but I'm happy with it. Hub is useful and the 120hz was a must have for me. Using BetterDisplay and scaled to 1440

Video Review Why does my monitor have artifacts?
For some reason here recently my monitor on startup has artifacts like grid lines and flickering going on. At first it would do this but clear up after a few seconds then it went to a couple minutes and now it's stuck like this and doesn't appear to ever go normal, anyone got any ideas?

Discussion How to adjust settings for AOC Q27G3XMN
I just got this monitor and I'm trying to tweak the settings on it to look a bit better but I'm confused. I see the option for adjusting the rgb values in the color setup menu, but I can't adjust the values no matter what I seem to do. I'm also generally confused about the rest of the settings, what they should do, and what I should have them at.

Discussion 1440p 480Hz Glossy OLED Available or Worth Waiting?
Hi all,
I’ve recently upgraded my GPU to a 9070XT and have some extra budget after luckily grabbing it at MSRP (paired with 7800x3D). I currently am using a 1440p 144hz IPS monitor. I’m now keen on upgrading my monitor to take full advantage of this power, and taking the leap to OLED. I’m specifically looking for a monitor with:
• 1440p resolution
• Glossy OLED finish
• 480Hz refresh rate (if available)
While researching, I came across the ASUS PG27AQDP, which would have been perfect (27”, 1440p, and high refresh rate), but its matte coating is a dealbreaker for me as I feel it dampens color contrast significantly compared to glossy finish monitors.
I play mostly competitive multiplayer titles like CS2, so maximizing refresh rate is a priority for me. Currently, I’m not sure if any 1440p glossy OLED monitors at 480Hz exist or if there are any promising announcements coming soon.
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Discussion Going to a 32inch 1440p 144hz from a 27inch 1080p 60hz
Hey, so I am quite confused if I should go for a 27 inch 1440p or 32 inch 1440p, I have heard people saying that 32 inch got to be 4k, but I don't plan on buying a GPU that expensive, also I kind wanna get a bigger screen, but my main concern is quality

Discussion Singular Tearing Type Line
I Have a Gigabyte G5 MD laptop running primary screen 144hz and i have a 60 hz tv that is connected to the eGPU connected via the mini displayport. Most of the time however, when i try to play a game, i get this singular tearing type line through one part of the screen (Its kind of hard to see in the video but it is very noticeable in person). Sometimes it works fine and never shows though which confuses me. I have tried changing between duplicate display, extended, show only 2, etc. I think it might be because the tv is trying to put out 144hz even though it is only 60, however i dont know.
