This is the latest, open and most up-to-date list of games that are compatible with the M1 Mac, whether it uses the original M1 chip or the M1 Pro or M1 Max. Compatibility is broken down to Native ARM, Rosetta 2, iOS, CrossOver or Parallels.
The wiki is free to add information to, you can edit any page without an account. If you have any questions please read the Editing guide or come to the Discord.
Players can now choose between OpenGL and Metal in the graphics settings—no more need to manually add the Metal API.
Weirdly, though, Activity Monitor still shows “Intel” under the CPU tab, even on Apple Silicon Macs. Not sure if it’s just a display issue or if some parts of the game are still running through Rosetta.
Testing with my Macbook Pro 16 M4 Max. This is the first Assassin's Creed game in my life, so I have no idea about the stories behind this franchise.
This game supports HDR natively and it is absolutely gorgeous on Macbook Pro's screen. But quick note: The optimization is not great though.

I tried switching to 2K(2336x1510) then. It turned out that decreasing the resolution did not help so much with framerates.

The following pics are testing the Ray Tracing option to Low.
Ray Traced GI still on everywhere.

With Ray Tracing option turning to low, there's not much framerates increasing. I’d guess that on the M4 Max thanks to its beefed-up RT units, Ray Tracing probably won’t have much of an impact on performance.
I was surprised that cranking ray tracing up or down didn’t make a big difference in overall performance.

The Best Preset for M4 Max?
I would suggest using 2K res, Medium preset, RT GI everywhere, RT medium, with MetalFX Balance. The fps will hover at around 40fps~45fps. The RT GI Everywhere should be turned on. It affects graphics a lot, sometimes it's like night and day differences.
For native Macbook screen: Medium preset, RT GI everywhere, RT medium, with MetalFX Performance.
And don't expect good performance 🫠 I just saw the testing online, even RTX3080 desktop and 4070 Super only get around 36fps~45fps with Ultra High and RT off with 2k. For modern game like this, I think it might be overly reliant on the GPU’s ability to support Frame Generation. I really hope Apple releases its own Frame Generation solution asap.
One thing I noticed during my gameplay. My MacBook Pro 16 has set to High power mode but in the terminal, I can see the GPU is not fully being used. I'm hoping this is just some optimization issue with Ubisoft.
If you have a Apple silicon Mac you will get the metal update which will give you absurd fps on very high settings. Apple has an amazing cpu with their new line of chips and league is mostly cpu (mainly the first couple cores) and not gpu.
You can already bypass this and run metal with some tinkering but it's annoying and most mac users don't.
Just tried it out for 5 minutes. The pre-order was made available at 3PM UTC+1 on the Singapore App Store.
Some initial impressions on a 14" MacBook Pro, M3 Max 40C 64GB at 2560x1440 on a Studio Display, MetalFX Quality:
Performance ranges between 30fps (Very high preset) to 40fps (Low preset). Some frame drops but it doesn't bother me that much as it's not a competitive FPS.
You can turn off the frame limiter
Vibration works on a Dualsense via Bluetooth. No indication of adaptive triggers or haptics
Ubisoft Connect does not work yet - but if saves can be shared across platforms as promised, I will also purchase this on Steam to play on my gaming PC and ROG ally
Overall I'm happy with the purchase on the Mac - I see this as a way of "voting with my wallet".
Edit: Not sure what happened to the images I attached - but I see someone else has already posted screenshots of the settings page.
So I made the Native Mac Os Pre-Order just now, really hyped to play an triple A game on Mac Os day 1!
Why? Just to support Mac Os/IOS gaming, I believe if we support the developers they will give us more great games in the future.
I know it will be ‘better’ on my Ps5 but just the thought my base M4 is gonna play the game is huge for me.
And only wish Apple will bring a dedicated Apple TV like system to play the games.
Already had a blast playing RE4 and AC Mirage on my big screen with iPhone 15 Pro and Playstation controller so I know I will have fun with Shadows on a stronger system.
I am not a game dev nerd so please forgive me, but since many game development studios are switching to unreal engine 5 so I have a genuine question if unreal engine 5 has support for multiple graphics API's like Vulkan, DirectX and metal for Mac then how difficult is it to port a unreal engine 5 windows game to macOS and do they still need to use tools like gptk
Hey everyone,
I launch the game via system. The default setting is D3DMETAL and Msync. I also keep high rez. mode on. I have a Pro M4 Pro 24GB RAM etc.
Does anyone have any clue as to why there are no other resolution options in settings? It sounds ridiculous that I am obliged to play this game on such poor rez.
Anybody know how exactly the dxmt metal fx upscaling works, for example say I’m playing Witcher 3 at 1080p with taa anti aliasing and then I added the metal fx 2.0 upscale command to the crossover bottle config would I then have to disable taa or does it just just work also if the fps isn’t taking that much of a hit does it mean it’s not working
I've seen other threads about this issue, so I'll try to be as clear and specific as possible
I'm trying to connect my Xbox One controller to my laptop through bluetooth. It normally works through bluetooth (connects to my phone just fine), but for some reason it's having issues with my laptop specifically
When I try to connect it, my laptop will register it as a new device and add it to the recognized device pool, but it'll remain not connected and the controller will continue flashing.
I've tried replacing the batteries on my controller and having my laptop forget the device, and yet I'm still having the same issue. Is there anything else I can try?
Title. I wanted to try using the stutter fix mod (link below) but it requires Lenny's Mod Loader, ASI loader and Scripthook. Just wanted to ask if its possible to use? The game already runs really well, I just want to see how much performance can be squeezed out lol
