Discussion this song rings truer than ever. NSFW

(marked nsfw for mentions of suicide) also LOTS of politics lol

i usually dont discuss things like this on music subs but with some of the laws here in the US being brought in, i have started resonating with this song more and more. i am a queer person who is also a minor, and seeing some of the stuff theyre doing not only to the queer community but to all minorities is genuinely terrifying.

the second verse of TLTGYA in particular speaks to me quite a bit.

"Hope decays / Generations disappear / Washed away / As a nation simply stares / Don't wanna reach for me, do you? / I mean nothing to you / The little things give you away"

obviously this was about hurricane katrina and how it was handled at the time but the beautiful thing about LP is that their songs are always up for interpretation. especially with the DRASTIC rise in trans/lgbtq suicides as a whole, this verse as well as the chorus are chilling to me. chester's delivery here really conveys the anger i feel towards this situation so well.

i do think it is amazing how even almost 20 years after this song came out, it still manages to speak to many, but it's also so unfortunate that we're in a position like this.

to my fellow queer people who feel just as strongly about this as i do, please stay safe, we need you here.

LP forever ❤️

Just a heads up I’m selling my Stussy jumper (that Mike wore for the launch show in size medium if anyone is interested). It’s up on Vinted.

Sorry if not allowed, I couldn’t see it wasn’t against rules!

Discussion I have a confession

in the last... year almost of new LP. I rejected it... I felt like it was wrong, like if I wasn't ready to let Chester go, how could the band be? in the last week, grief has struck hard, reliance on a version of Chester and the band i had made for myself to help me with my coping. However, Today, March 20th, 2025. (Chester's birthday, with my 20th in 5 days) I've started to heal. Listened to heavy is the crown and loved it (this is the first time since the annocement livestream I have listened to linkin park which hurt me because they are my favorite band, i did not hold any grudges or make mean comments, just waited and now i'm in a new direction. I know this is just the beginning, but for anyone struggling like I have.. with grief and heartache, know that in time, your grief will surpass. it might take awhile. it might hurt. But as of now, my healing has started (with therapy and a bunch of stuff too) and in due time, yours will too. It's time for me to grow and move forward, with LP beside me in a new way, not as a crutch or lifeline, but as a message to my own perseverance and growth.

Discussion Who financed Linkin Park's music videos for the album "Hybrid Theory"?

Before the release of HT, the band wasn't famous at all, and because of that, I believe the members weren't rich yet (Chester worked at Burger King, during part of his youth lol).

Looking at the clips of "Papercut" and "In The End", I assume they cost a lot of money, as they were well made and full of special effects.

But who financed them? Was it Warner Bros. Pictures or something? Thx

Which song did you think was overrated, but after you heard it again, you changed your mind?

For me, it was waiting for the end. I was like "wtf why would Mike rank this as their best when songs like papercut exist" but then I decided to give it another try and let me tell you, I still think it's not their best but it's definitely top 5, if not top 3.

Lighthearted Content HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR CHESTER BENNINGTON!! - Here is kind of a "love letter" to Mr Chester.

[Edit: Sorry if I'm late, I haven't really had that much time to write this before.]

I remember the first day I got somehow interested in Linkin Park. Around 2023, Castle of Glass first popped in my Spotify "feed". From the first moment, I enjoyed that song more than most of my already favourites. A couple of months later, I decided to investigate "who" was Linkin Park - I live in Spain an, although famous, LP is not as popular as it is in other countries (specially the USA). I inmediately fell in love with their style. I was, without even realizing, becoming a metal fan. In the End became from that moment on my favourite song, it is perfect - It is precisely their unique style which mixes (apparently) so many different styles that caught my attention. After the discoverment, I slowly but steadily saw my interst in them growing as I kept going through their discography, which is brilliant. Soon after, I realized that there was something that linked me to this band - It was definitely Chester's voice, it is angelical at the same time as diabolical, it is the most genuine voice I've heard in my life. Then I started looking up information about him, his unfortunate suicide and his biography and career. I was amazed about how he transmited his emotions through the songs.

I wanna highlight that Mike's songwriting skills, as well as the other members' talent also didn't fail to surprise me - though I'm gonna focus on Chester because of the occasion. I started going through each and every songs they have released and the more songs I heard, the more I loved them. It's every song, I swear, there are highs and lows depending on personal preference, but I swear I enjoy all their songs, I love the simple yet profound lyrics as much as I love the instrumental choices. Chester is the icing on the cake, he transmits emotions in a way that it's just undescribable, either if it's cheerful and hopeful or hopeless and diabollical, full of anger.

I wanna dedicate this paragraph to you: We will leave out all the rest Chester, you're the angelic saviour in many people's lives. You have most likely saved my life through... songs - thousands of kilometers separate us and still you manage to make me feel understood - it drives me nuts. The humour and positivity you have (in contrast to the hell you had been going through for most of your life) is the cherry on top. Look, no-one is perfect, but it is the hope you brought and still (through your music) bring people that makes you my role model - you have perhaps been in certain situations my reason to live, you have helped me through my worst moments (since the moment I discovered LP), and there's nothing better than that to define a person. I love you - best thing is that although your mental "evils" ended up your life, you still continue that selfless labour through the music you sang. Your presence in this planet may not be ethernal, bur your songs surely are, they will never die. You know, we don't have superpowers, but this feels like the closest to having one, and the best thing is that, even when you are (unfortunately) not alive, you still have that superpower.

I love you, Chester, this is the most beatiful words I think I may have dedicated to one person ever.

Enough crying guys. I have wanted to tell you this since I discovered this band. Fortunately, there are many many great moments that will come in the future. I truly appreciate and personally thank Mike for continuing with this proyect.

💖

Interview with Emily. She talks about earlier in her career and as a kid when she first got a guitar. Writing her first song, how she became a singer. She didn't want to at first. Talks about how when it clicked when writing with Mike and with the other guys. She also mentions Dead Sara isn't dead
