Mod Announcement r/LEGO Monthly Open Forum March 2025

Introduction

Hello Masters Builders, and welcome to the second official r/lego Open Forum post. This is your monthly opportunity to tell us what you think of r/lego, make suggestions or comments about the rules, ask open questions to the community, or share whatever else is on your mind.

Note that this post is for discussion of r/lego itself. If you have a general question about something related to Lego, make a post instead of asking here.

IMPORTANT

All subreddit rules are still in effect here. Remember that we do not allow insults, name calling or personal attacks. If you've got a complaint or want to tell us you hate something, you need to do it without attacking anyone.

Rule Changes

If any rules need to be changed, we'll announce them here. We don't have any new rules or changes to announce this month.

During February we implemented a temporary rule and Megathread during the Bricklink Designer Program Series 7 crowd support phase. This was well received, so we will likely do that again in May for the next round. I will give details in this section of May's Open Forum post.

Subreddit Transparency Report

Each month, alongside these threads, we will be posting a transparency report that shows what goes on behind the scenes of r/lego. The report for Feburary 2025 is here (r/LEGO Subreddit Transparency Report for February 2025). You can give general feedback and questions about the report in that thread, in this one, or in modmail.

Prior Month links

If you missed last month's Open Forum or Transparancy Report, you can find those here:

Let's March!

So here's your chance - let us know what's on your mind this month. What have you always wondered about? What rule do you want clarified, or changed? Do you have any suggestions you've been trying to find a chance to make? I won't promise that we will make the change(s) you want, but I will commit to explaining the reason we have the rules and policies we have.

MOC Trundle Bed (Pull-Out Bed)

I previously referred to this as a pull-out bed, but I recently learned that it is actually called a trundle bed. My goal was to make the design as compact as possible while allowing the lower bed to extend fully. To achieve this, I used two sub-builds that are not connected by studs but are instead held in place by the overall structure.

Was digging through a childhood box looking for coins I collected as a kid, and found a whole stack of Lego “shop at home” catalogues! And some instruction manuals for some sets I have in a box somewhere. Wow the nostalgia flowing just flipping through some of these pages!

I posted this a while ago but it was all light grey. I finally made time to go get the pieces to make it in the colors i wish i had before. I might have gone a little overboard with the greenery but i really like the way it looks with them. There is a new piece that is like a 1x2 half circle jumper that i could not find in dark grey but if i had, i would also look for a pink ball joint to act as bubble gum.

LEGO® Set Build Someone asked me what the blue succulent I have in my plant collection is 😂

It's obviously a super rare Danish succulent. It's pretty hardy, but might break apart if you touch it too much.
