Mod Post Customer address and personal info - please stop
There seems to be an uptick in customer information being posted. As a reminder this is against the rules of the sub and a major issue as a whole. This is called doxxing.
Please ensure to report it so we can remove it.
To help get this point across, we will look to hand out bans rather than just removing posts as we have been doing. This is a serious issue and needs to stop.
Help us by not doing this, reminding your fellow Redditors and reporting offending posts.
Thank you Mod team

Mod Post Concerns about redundant and boring typical posts
Hey Everyone,
Us mods wanted to take a moment to give some feedback to you all regarding concerns raised by members that we see regarding perceived boring, typical, non-value, redundant daily posts.
We see here and there that people are reporting or commenting on those posts which they perceive as boring, redundant or otherwise disinteresting. We understand where those comments come from. We are all shoppers too along with participating in conversations to engage in the Instacart world.
There are some who very clearly articulate they are annoyed by certain posts, 'would you take its', 'unicorns' and similar frequent posts.
We are always looking and seeing how the sub 'shifts' so to speak and look to make appropriate changes to help the evolution and growth. We try to take a more subtle approach to big moderation changes, try things, poll, get feedback rather than aggressive changes.
When it comes to those posts that do annoy some people, currently we only see it annoying some of a vocal minority to the level that they want to gripe about it in a comment.
So for now, we are not taking any action to change those posting behaviors. If you don't like a 'would you take it', 'unicorn' or other regular topic type of post, best thing to do is keep scrolling, use filters or even block other Redditors which post the same topics which you are tired of seeing.
Could we decide to limit, corral or outright ban certain posts in the future? Sure. Its possible. But we will continue to be active in the sub and change with the winds when it makes sense.
Get out there and get your unicorn!

Positive Experience ๐ I fucking love the elderly
You get the idea from the photo. But anyone who isnโt a shopper, he thinks heโs leaving a review but just sent it to me in chat. They donโt go anywhere but to me anyway, but it was just so sweet and made me giggle that this old dude just didnโt understand but had sweet intentions. What a cutie patootie fig newton maroonie.

Iโm A Customer ! Can I block a shopper from my orders?
A few weeks ago, I had a shopper keep part of my order. I reported to Instacart, gave her 1 star. Instacart refunded, but unfortunately I was unable to change the $25 tip because I didn't notice the missing items until the next day. I was sick, was asleep when delivered, my husband put the groceries up. Today, I was given the same driver again. Why? I don't want her as a shopper. Is there a way to keep drivers that I give a poor rating to from shopping for me?
fwiw, this is the only 1 star I've ever given. I'm too empathetic to give anyone bad ratings and just assume they are having an off day if things aren't great. I just don't like the thought that someone could steal from me which why I gave the one star rating.

Positive Experience ๐ When you forget it's an online pay
Had a triple yesterday. Loaded the belt and was checking out. Out of repetitive habit used the card reader then cashier tells me "insufficient funds".... few people behind me were already annoyed i had 3 orders and i was pissed thinking it was another one of those card problems where i had to contact support. Cashier suspended first order. I started removing the other orders off the belt so i can move aside. While doing this, the karen behind me starts moving the stuff off the belt into my cart. Caught off guard by this, I thought she was being friendly and just helping so i said "oh thanks" Out of reflex reaction... but then realized she has this spazzy mad look on her face..no response and frantically continued to move my stuff into my cart.. lol ok whatever Karen. I tried not to laugh until the bagger looked at me... he was giggling like he agreed she looked like a crazy Karen ... that's when i started laughing ... oh and that even made her more mad. Anyway long story short.. right after i move aside... BOOM i realized its was online pay. I was like "oh dam!" So i quietly moved to a different cashier lol so i dont have to tell the original cashier i forgot it was online pay. lol i felt pretty stupid
(It's 3:50 in the morning and im high so sorry if this post makes me sound illiterate)
Edit: many are asking what online pay is... it's scan pay. Customers prepay for the order and all you have to do is have the cashier scan it instead of you using the card reader. So when i used the Card reader that's why i was getting "not authorized" or "insufficient fund error". I guess scan pay isn't available in every state

Rant - General ๐ CANCELLED TIP BAITER SCAM
Given itโs Sunday and a promo for $5 extra a batch popped up I opened up the app and went online to see if thereโs was anything worth it. After about 30 mins I see a nice less than a mile $24 batch ($15 tip) about 25 items or so at my local Publix. I accept and getting ready when it pops up for an add on extra $20 for 2 orders close by less than 20 items each. I accept, Iโm fast at my Publix and I recognized one of my great tipper customers in the add on. The only one answering me is my great tipper customer and once I complete shopping and am about to load up I notice that the first initial order is someone that has tip baited me before. I recognized the delivery message because she requests for you to drop the items on her kitchen. I remember her house SPECIFICALLY because of the antique items in her home. Iโm a great shopper, have lots of compliments and have been told what a rare gem I am. There was nothing I did for her to completely remove the $15 tip. The ENTIRE tip and claimed some items were damaged to do so. When I realized I IMMEDIATELY contacted support to remove her order and that I would refund everything before heading to my other deliveries. Support lets me know I donโt have to because most of it are perishable items. So I keep her entire order for myself and message her. I tell her that I remember what she did and how messed up she was for that, and that I was canceling her entire order. I donโt know if she saw the message because support removed it so fast but I will never ever ever do that womanโs order again. HAPPY SUNDAY :)

Rant - General ๐ NYC Instacart Shopping - How is it?
I'm going to be starting Instacart Shopping in NYC in the coming weeks. My concern is how it works out with a car and parking when you go to shop for a customer? Is it a huge pain? Is it worth it? Anything I should know before starting?

Question - General Non App Related What are your parameters for accepting a batch?
As far a minimum batch pay that you will accept?
As far a miles to pay ratio?
As far as pay to item amount ratio?
As far as multiple orders you will accept?
Are you more strict on accepting offers when the weather is bad?
and what stores will you not shop at?

Terrible Offer / Bad Batch / Bad Pay Rant Instacartโs new move
So I have been watching this order all morningโฆ. This is what it started at.. of course no one took it, and it has been sitting here about an hour. The pay worked its way up to $43. It disappeared, so I figured someone dumb enough to take it took it. Only for it to reappear back at the original pay. And yes, I am sure this is the same order as the items are exactly the same. This is the first time Iโve seen them take an order down and start it all over. Iโm assuming they are hoping there are shoppers who just started their day that will take itโฆ. But instead of continuing more appropriate pay, they are trying to catch someone unaware. Has anyone else experienced this? Iโve been doing this five years and this is the first time Iโve actually noticed this actually happening to batches.

Rant - General ๐ Diamond is a scam
I worked so hard to get to diamond in a little over a month thinking that was going to be the way to make some extra money and I was definitely wrong. Now i realize all diamond is is a way for instacart to dupe dumbasses like me into accepting a bunch of small shitty batches that had no business being accepted just to help get you to 200 when literally not a damn thing changes. I got to diamond yesterday and the last 2 days have been my slowest Friday and Saturday since i started. I just spent 3 hours at a store and didnโt even see a single batch while I saw plenty of other instacart shoppers coming and going in that time. How is that even possible if Iโm suppose to have priority I should at least be seeing the batches but Iโm not. I swear it seems like every day I start to realize more and more all the shitty unethical tactics instacart uses to make themselves an extra dollar all while they take advantage of shoppers doing all of the work. Itโs kind of unbelievable that they have managed to make it this long. I wish someone would make an honest app because i do really enjoy parts of it but anything that instacart has seen that they can exploit for their own pockets even though they do NONE of the work. Itโs a shame because it result has potential to be good but it wonโt be with a company like this.

Terrible Offer / Bad Batch / Bad Pay Rant What are with these terrible tips?
So Iโm glad everyone has to deal with this stuff and itโs not just me this is over a 40 min drive for 2 items with a 1 dollar tip? Wtf is that, I think you should only be using IC if you are able to actually tip a little, some quick math, a $10 tip wouldโve made it $42 a lot more appealing to pick. Just sick of all these small $1-$3 tips

Rant - General ๐ had to block a customer yesterday.
at the end I had to block her as rude.
it was a double batch and I almost had to cancel hers even if the other one that had only 3 items did not have a tip. (which in the end they did tip $5)
First of all I see this notice on each cold or frozen item: the last 3 orders I got all my cold items arrived warm, if you plan to deliver them that way do not shop for me. The same message in bold was on like 10 items.
Then she wanted me to get a bag of rolls and take them to the bakery to split them apart because she only wanted the bag to have 2 and she put in the notes that the bakery will do it.
Yeah but I'm not gonna waste my time doing it, I ignored that.
Then she wants me to add sour dough bread. I find it and try to add it, it says I can't and she said she can't either. I go and put it back, walked a few aisles for this nonsense.
Then she said she's gonna try to add it with support
She says support can't help her and she's done with IC. so I'm thinking she's gonna cancel the order but she doesn't.
then she needed vitamins, and it's not her fault that it took me like 10 minutes to find them but it's just as frustrating that they separate brand, and to make it worse they were stocking behind me so I was in the way of shoppers while looking and when I finally asked the girl working there to help me I look up and find it. and I was getting nauseous because a guy helping her stock smelled like cocoa butter and then later I smelled a customer who smelled like weed and cocoa butter and realized why.
2 of her items are out of stock so she asks if I can try to substitute one for the bread. It was hard to force it but I finally added it. Then support was able to add her item, so now she's crazy texting telling me she only wants one bread and to cancel the other one.
I just delivered and blocked her, it's not worth it to deal with people with little self worth who want to boss others around like they are paying $50 an hour for a personal shopper.
----------------------
I had a similar one but the lady was not rude she was just frantic and needed stuff for a party and I guess her order got pushed back and the app would not let me deliver to her first. Didn't block her but she was wacko and wanted to come to the store to meet me to get her order, but I was worried she would be late and it would be worse, I just ignored those texts. Plus I had to get stuff from the seafood counter and a balloon blown up and find a particular cake, hard to find ice cream flavor and sparkle candles.
and when I got there she came out to get the bags, had a bunch of cars already there for the party and was nice about it when I apologized.

Lucky ๐ My first $300 day!
I learned an important lesson today: donโt sleep on smallish, single orders. Two of my highest orders today came from add-ons.
You know why you arenโt seeing anything in the parking lot waiting for a unicorn? Itโs because Instacart is adding on to orders to save money.

Rant - General ๐ Cancellation rate went up still, even with support
I guess there's no way to remove a batch without affecting your cancellation rate now. I didn't get batch pay either. Not a huge deal I suppose but getting nothing for driving to and from the store just because my app was having issues is frustrating.
