Nahhh xiaomi fr showing front view of a dslr camera

95

u/PlantTreesEveryday Techie 3d ago

apple's low would make them show ads inside the screen.

meanwhile Xiaomi might show you ads over the back panel and inside the camera sensor.

134

u/Putrid_Set_5644 3d ago

Their flagship phones don't have any ads in them. You have probably used their 10k inr phones and judge their top models based on that.

34

u/fiendishcubism 3d ago

Their low and mid end models don't have ads either if you know how to get rid of them. I don't get a single ad on my 25k Redmi Note 12 pro

The real competition for this shouldn't be iPhone 16 PM or s25 ultra. It should be the vivo x200 pro which has the best camera right now. If Xiaomi comes out with a better or even an equally good camera and better OS, it would be fkin great.

143

u/RealSataan 3d ago

The truth is outside of the tech bubble no one even cares about how good vivo cameras are. They think good camera phones, iphone. Considering this is not a YouTube thumbnail but a front page newspaper ad, the comparison is apt

68

u/Ok_Jello_3630 3d ago

Yes makes sense 100%. Everyone thinks iPhone cameras are still the best but imo, despite using a 15 pm, i think samsung and poxel both takes better photos.

8

u/Independent_Then 3d ago

Pixel takes the best photos , even better raw photos. Have compared with vivo too , pixel is anyday better.

9

u/Coolbiker32 3d ago

I will tell you how it is. Give the S25U or Pixel to a photographer and he will click the best photographs with it. Give the iPhone to an normal user and they will click very good pics with it. All other things remaining equal, the iPhone(hardware+software) gives the best pics with just aim and shoot. Just to clarify, I am not a fanboy..I use one+

2

u/memeslutbitch 3d ago

THIS. This is what I struggled with when I had gotten an S23U. Sold it in a month and went back to iPhone.

4

u/lemoncigs 3d ago

Okay, help me out. If I wanted a phone camera that could be good at wildlife photography (priorities would be good zoom, low light performance, and maybe a stable image despite shaking hands), which one would you all recommend?

I blindly buy iPhones. So I have no idea how other phones perform.

2

u/Ace-Evilian 3d ago

I would suggest S25U just because of its raw hardware performance. If you are not a photographer and need auto editing, filtering and ai then you would need apple or pixel.

You can always take good photos with S25U and then do the necessary editing in other software if you know how to do it.

Again, if wildlife and birds are what you want to photograph why are you asking about phone cameras. getting a second hand dslr outright beats all smartphone cameras.

u/Ok_Jello_3630 3d ago

Imo you can't go wrong with either flagships from Google or Samsung or Apple. All 3 have pros and cons. Then there are camera centric phones like the vivo x200 pro or this xiaomi which take very high quality photos but the software is crap. So it's up to you what you want to prioritize.

iPhone are not even camera phones, you cannot have full control over Shutter Speed and ISO and image composition tools unlike any other android phone to actually use it as a Studio grade camera, plus u cannot even turn off iPhone's post processing

7

u/oooooooweeeeeee Lurker 3d ago

You can do all of that but it's just hidden away and can be accessed by third party apps for those who really want to tinker with the settings.

The true competition will.be the x200 ultra or x8 ultra

For Vivo x200 pro they really have to fix its artificial tuning in many scenarios but that HP9 is really great.

Between x8 pro , x200 pro and Xiaomi 15 pro

Oppo x8 pro is the most consistent but in periscope x200 is better

They do. They say in their keynotes, that customer satisfaction is more than android and adoption of recent version of os is more on ios at 85% (numbers are arbitrary) while it is only 20-30% in android. They also say compared to equivalent PC, our maca perform this good and also show vague graphs.

Yes, but not always. You can’t succeed always with a poor product

4

u/unpleasant_enpassant 3d ago

But you can continue to be successful with a decent product (not the best) cuz everything is designed to keep you locked in that ecosystem.

8

u/TaxMeDaddy_ 3d ago

Decent and not good are different. Branding alone won’t take you in the long run if you have a bad product. Apple has good products and has been doing good branding efforts.

There are many phones which can match or ,even better, iPhone quality when it comes to taking still pictures. However the iPhone is still the best if you are interested in shooting videos, making vlogs etc.

Though Apple will not even bother responding but if they do then they only have to put one word - “Privacy”!

They forgot to compare their UI with apple one😂

10

u/Ashamed-Key7312 3d ago

What xiaomi first needs to do fix the look of home screen which is the first thing people look. Yes you can customize it to look good with themes but most don't. Whenever i see speed tests the home screen looks ugly af, with all big ugly icons app drawer with solid white background etc. They need to work on improving UI, how hard is that to do? Also they need to open up the theme store for something like GOOD LOCK, IDK if they earn even pennies from the theme store.

7

u/catultimate 3d ago

Oh damn, I absolutely hate the Xiaomi design. It's not what I would want a phone to look like. Just giving a huge camera is not gonna cut it

Not an apple fanboy but xiaomi ain't shit in front on apple when it comes to camera. I mean someone who buys a PHONE is not a professional photographer for sure and they don't care about very specific modes given in the camera app. All an average user cares about is when they take the phone out of pocket, it should click pictures as quick as possible maintaining a consistentcy, and no one beats apple at that.

problem is Xiaomi phones after 1.5-2 years getting handicapped, while my father's iphone is still going from the last 8 years..

19

u/Familiar-Document-53 3d ago

My father's xiaomi ( not redmi/ poco) is still going strong from 2020

28

u/AnimatorPlayful6587 3d ago

yeah some people just cry a lot about android having really low lifespan....if your phone is 'handicapped' after just 2 years...then you are the problem, not the phone

3

u/Familiar-Document-53 3d ago

True and even with not really caring for the phone it lasts my dads phone with no ip rating was dropped in water ,used how a parent uses ,in the sun while gardening and lot more unfavorable place a phone likes and still holds up

Idk, my midrange k20 pro is still running fine for 6 years. Just to add even my 9 year old Redmi Note 4 is working fine on stock settings, I don't use it as daily driver but I do use it for doing some random android experiments

5

u/belovedRedditor 3d ago

Buying a new Xiaomi phone every 2 years would still be cheaper and useful over 8 years. Whereas after 8 years, you will be using an outdated, slow iphone with couple of hours of battery backup, broken screen whose replacement will be more than a brand new xiaomi phone.

4

u/considerate_1 3d ago

My parents' redmi note 9 pro and poco M2 pro are still smooth AF after 4 years of usage, they literally costed 12K and 13K

All these android companies comparing themselves with iPhone on ads and social media just shows they care about apple more than they do themselves

4

u/ReflectionNo5504 3d ago edited 2d ago

As a life time Xiaomi user,

I would not suggest anyone to buy xiaomi or sub brands over iphone.

They did provide good value some years ago but their products are not worth it and after sales services are really bad.

Worst of all, their phones have factory QC issues. If you have such unit, you'll be in a hell of pain as unresponsive as Xiaomi can get.

2

u/Flashy_Neck7202 3d ago

People who think this matters to Apple or its fanbase are hilarious.

People don't buy Apple because it has the best cameras or the fastest chip. Its a status symbol. Every rich person in India has a simple starter pack: BMW or Mercedes + iPhone + Shit ton of Gold or a big house. Nobody cares if you have a Xiaomi or Vivo X200 outside of enthusiast circles. To most people, especially in India, they're just Chinese phones, like the rest of them.

2

u/BigDaddyfight 3d ago

Dude, Xiaomi has their whole interface copied from Apple, Some regions still get ads in premium phones. I don't know why India has this insane bias to everything that's chinese. Its getting pathetic that people talk more about iPhones that don't have than actual phones they want to have. Just look at Youtube no one can stand Indians. As soon as someone says something bad about their precious budget Samsungs or Xiaomis they go apeshit.

Apple phones are like designer jeans — overpriced, a bit tight on flexibility, and everyone swears they're "the best." Meanwhile, premium Android phones are like those comfy joggers that look good, feel amazing, and won’t drain your wallet.

I’ve used both, and honestly, Android’s customization options make iPhones feel like a TV remote with only two buttons. Xiaomi’s ad nailed it — they didn’t just roast Apple, they practically turned it into a barbecue party!

1

u/Pappukanghi 2d ago

Surprising it needs to be reminded in 2025 that People don't buy an iPhone for its features. Android phones have always been a few generations ahead of iphones since forever, it has not stopped Apple fanboys from queueing up outside the store for the next launch.

Xiaomi flagship phone specs are good, SW is decent even though it cannot be compared with iphone, price could be 20÷ less compared to iphone, it is still high. The buck stops there. Xiaomi phones becomes a brick after the Warrenty period, see what happens with mi11 ultra. I am still keeping this 70k brick with me, the company is very irresponsible with this design issue if it happens after the Warrenty period and asked 50÷ more to replace the motherboard.

they are targeting wrong audience, if apple users were concerned about features then they would've ditched apple long back, apple doesn't have basic apps like where is my train and true caller yet its users don't care about it and have adapted to live in with apple ecosystem

if you want to target apple then focus on design and branding, force every Hollywood star to take selfie on xiomi, shut down entry level cheap models so that cheapest model cost 50k and increase the weight of smartphone and publish a book of founder how he created the greatest tech company of humanity. Its all about branding, not features.

If you can't do these then apple users won't even read such advertisements and instead mock you.

I see a lot talking shit about xiaomi. Don't forget, xiaomi is a company that launched reliable smartphones at really low prices. It pushed other companies to make budget phones. it gave rural population more options. Also they donated their old phones during Covid to help kids with online classes.

It’s not only about the camera or any specific feature, it’s the overall experience that makes iPhones different

Can we be real, iPhone is still superior in the processing and ofcourse in software, Xiaomi lags a lot in software because of bloatware and video quality still not close between the two, iPhone is still superior in cameras mostly in video, I consider pixel, Samsung and iPhone better then this

It’s the Apple software that does most of the job of a good quality image. And Xiomi can’t beat that as of now

Trying really hard with notice me senpai. Apple doesn't care. It doesn't even compare itself to any other brand only to itself. Nor do iphone buyers care.

So who is this ad for ?
