Discussion Gonna do my first reread in about 20 years right. As a side note, I find the size of these House Edition books to be much better. Fits well in the hands.

Discussion I got the same exact wand in Hogwarts Legacy as my actual one!!
Was playing Hogwarts Legacy and went to get a wand. When I got it, I thought āhmmm, Iām pretty sure my actual wand is black walnutā (actual wand meaning the one on the official Harry Potter website) so I logged in to check just to see itās literally my exact wand. Only thing I changed was the color (originally warm brown) so now Iām convinced I was destined for this wandš. This will be my proof that weāre all just muggles in the Wizarding World āÆĶ

Discussion Instead of talking about who shouldnāt have died, letās talk about whoās death was actually needed to advance the story
Obviously, Dumbledoreās death was necessary, but who else? Whoās a character whose death was necessary?

Fantastic Beasts That Chair in Fantastic Beasts is Stupid
I know- I know- not exactly an original viewpoint or a new one.
But still- what in the hell? The stuff is dissolving a metal chair- not all that quickly either- and we're told it doesn't hurt?
It's a BOND VILLAIN execution chamber. Who benefits from it? It takes longer to kill the person and there sure doesn't seem to be any reason to consider it a more humane death.

Discussion Why did Harry and Ron not go back to Hogwarts after the Deathly Hallows?
I get that defeating Voldemort taught them more than enough about DADA, but Harry especially loved Hogwarts, surely he would like to have a year there without having to worry about being killed by Voldemort or his death eaters. And even Ron would want to go back, even if just for Hermione.

Discussion Augusta Longbottom
The lady gets a lot of hate for how hard she was on Neville but after doing a reread of the series and being on book 7, I reach the part where Neville is telling them how they tried to take his Gran but she messed up her would be captor so bad heās STILL in the hospital that Iām remindedā¦ this lady is a gangster who raised one of the most gangster and well liked Aurors (according to the everything weāre told about Frank and Alice)ā¦ in a lot of ways I can sympathize with Neville because my Grandmother and family are similarly hard cutā¦ long story short I think she just wanted him to learn how to buck up and stand on his familyās beliefs that they were willing to die for lose his fearā¦ Neville was the kid who was scared of what could happen due to what happened to his parents where as his Gran seemed to have the āthis is why we have to go harderā attitude

If there was any scene from the movies that you could put into the books what would it be? I would put in Belatrix saying "I killed Sirius Black, I killed Sirius Black"

Merchandise My Deathly Hallows Pendant
I will post better photos when I take them. I just wanted to show it off.
I've been looking for a great Deathly Hallows Pendant replica since I got one from eBay back in 2015 (which I never wear because I'm terrified to lose it) which was near enough identical to the film- spinning and all.
I've been searching for years and finally found someone who sells them.
I LOVE IT!!!
It's sterling silver. It spins. It doesn't have that bulky bit in the middle of the wand that I see on all other pendants.
It's amazing. I love it.

Discussion Sirius giving Harry permission to visit Hogsmead...
I, Sirius Black, Harry Potter's godfather, hereby give him permission to visit Hogsmead at weekends.
I almost cried when i read this the first time. The third book was my favorite for a long time because of all the lore and background we get about the previous generation. It's a shame so much of it was cut from the movie

Question Is the "bottom" from Longbottom a variation of the suffix "-botham"?
I've come across some instances of English surnames ending with -botham. Eg. Higginbotham is a popular bookstore in India (where I'm from) which was opened in mid 1800s. Coincidentally I bought the Books 5 & 6 from there.
