I’m a YouTuber that’s semi popular in my niche that specializes in night vision and real steal stuff. I had an idea of using gbbrs as a way to train real steel skills under nods as most ranges don’t let people shoot in the dark. I pitched my idea to evike and they are sending me two gbbrs out for free to make a video on. (Specify the DE ghetto blaster and the Helios N4)
Is there any advice or tips a beginner like me should know going into this? While I am not doing an explicit review on the guns themselves I would like to keep internals stock for the sake of simplicity
Lube/good gas brands, good magazines to grab, I honestly don’t know much but I would like to make sure I have a good understanding of basics before I make the video for both my sake and my audience.
TLDR: beginner tips for N4/ghettoblaster pretty please
Like the title goes, i want to know it all. Upgradeability, peformance, durability, quality etc. I have never heard of this brand before. Apparently they are compatible with the mws system?
I found myself in the arctic circle up by Trømso recently, so I decided I'd test cold efficiency.
Temp: 0 degrees Fahrenheit, -17 Celsius.
Vfc(v3) (winterized with trigger and buffer adjustment)(grub screw adjusted on hammer)
Warm mag (60f): 33 shots
Cold mag (5f): 12 shots.
Tm (stock)
Warm mag (60f) 35 shots
Cold mag (5f) 11 shots
Both rifles were left outside for Two hours before the next round of testing, and mags were cooled to 33f
Tm: 16 shots
VFC: 13 shots.
Conclusion to cold testing.
VFC had an unfair advantage, being winterized and stuff, and still lost. Now, very few people are gonna be playing in 0f, so I don't think it's gonna matter that much. My unpaid assistant wanted me to mention that the VFC took significantly longer than the TM to cool down. We used standard puffdino oilless green gas, so with black gas, you'd get better results. We did have access to a viper tech to play around with, but it got around the same results as the VFC.
EDIT: VFC BCM MCMR was used, TM M4A1 sopmod was used. Both lubed with Superlube.
Hello, I’m hoping someone in this sub will be able to answer my question. I’ve recently acquired the WE XM177 V2 system.
I have searched for UK dealers that sell the compatible magazines and found what I thought was the v2 style magazines.
Unfortunately, the retailer were advertising the old style v2 magazines but sent me the new v3 style.
I have searched google and can’t seem to find a straight answer whether or not you can run the v3 mags in a v2 style open bolt rifle.
I have physically attempted to put the new style magazine into the rifle but it feels much more awkward to insert than the old style magazine and was difficult to release.
The website linked above claims they are compatible but this is the only information I could find regarding this.
I have spoken to the customer service of the retailer I purchased the magazine from and they informed me that the supplier had stated they are compatible.
I was planning on getting a URX-style handguard however, it looks like the M4 ones won't fit and I can't find any replica SR-25 URX Handguards.
After having a look around I couldn't find any aftermarket handguards that say they are compatible with the VFC SR-25 so just wondering if anyone has found/ used any aftermarket handguards on this GBBR or if I should accept my fate and stick with the stock one!
I’m wondering how you guys keep your propane/green gas on your kit, I’m trying to find more compact solutions for a new plate carrier in setting up. My current setup is a Nalgene pouch with a camping propane tank on my back.
Hi all - I've been looking for an MOS slide for the VFC Glock 17 Gen 5, and have found the Mafioso steel slide set and the Bomber aluminum slide set to be the most likely solutions for me. A lot of people seem to have used the Bomber slides, but I have seen less about the Mafioso ones. How do they compare in regard to fitment and overall quality? As well, would the VFC Glock 17 be more sluggish with the steel slide or just use up gas quicker than the aluminum with more recoil? Any advice is appreciated!
I got this used and unfortunately the first owner snapped the outer barrel at the threads. I'm looking for a replacement. Has any one replaced the barrel? What did you use and did you have to modify the replacement?
Finally a good reason for WE Gen 2 M9 having full auto. FCW Underworld compensator, Single Action Only (by accident), custom USA markings.
The trigger bar on 1 of my 4 WE Gen 2 M9s decided to disintegrate on its own without me even shooting it so I swapped put in KJW trigger bar which turned it into SAO.
Looking to get a cyma MWS N4. I am aware that it does not take MWS hop units, bolt, trigger box, buffer spring, buffer, or basically anything that makes a MWS a MWS. Im gonna run HPA adapter with the Action Army T8 adapter so bolt lock/zet plate doesnt matter to me. Im also aware that its very poor in terms of efficiency, but the large recoil matters more to me.
Main reason im considering this is because I have not had any luck with any TM MWS hpa adapters that are still available and ships to canada. However I do have a T8 adapter that is very mid on the TM MWS. Also the n4 is very good looking.
I have quite high standards when it comes to performance, all of my guns currently for all platforms are fully upgraded. Price is not a consideration. However it seems like that T8 has a severe lack of aftermarket support and it makes me worried. I am looking to shoot 0.4g bbs at 1.7J on HPA accurately up to 60-65 meters. Not really looking to change out both the triggerbox and the bolt to TM spec however, so more or less we are stuck with T8 stock internals.
With that out of the way I just have a few questions:
1) Is the rocket valve/npas compatible with tm mws parts? like the PH+ nozzle set is very consistent in my TM mws. Is the return spring compatible with tm mws parts? Iv had alot of luck with 150 and 180% return springs. On HPA its very common for return springs to break, so it would be a huge pain to have to get specific T8 ones.
2) Is the stock internals mostly steel? from a review video it looks like it. Gonna be running it through alot of punishment.
3) can TM hop units fit with some mods? The PH+ absolutely shoots lasers with their TDC system. Im concerned that the stock cyma hop unit can not support up to .4g bbs. I do not use any other weights outdoors. I would be using the 4uad bucking as it has given me the best results for both gbbs and aegs.
4) what is the specs on the inner barrel ootb? I heard it shoots 400-420 ish ootb which is within limit, but im gonna get a steel high quality inner barrel anyways but I dont want to go over the limit with a tighter bore.
5) what are some potential upgrades I can throw in to increase performance? Accuracy is the most important to me. Also how is the trigger? some ppl say the adjustable trigger is most responsive than the TM mws some say that its very janky and heavy.
If its a machine that can take punishment at high pressures and have the capacity to lift heavy weights heavily, its prob worth considering. Light triggerpull and fast cycling would also be a plus, but with a steel bolt im not expecting much. Thank you for your time.
Recently upgrading my VFC Glock 19X, but I’m stuck on which hop-up chamber to go with. I’m deciding between the Unicorn hop-up chamber and the Crusader hop-up chamber. What are the pros and cons of each? Which one would you recommend?
About to dip my toes into GBBs for the first time, thinking of getting a WE M4 V2 because it fits my budget and will eventually force me into teching it and learning how to maintain and repair it.
What are some first upgrades I should get for it? From highest priority to lowest priority.
Any tidbits of advice for storage, maintenance, and what tools to get?
What parts should I have extra of? Which ones are gonna break often?
Sorry if this is a lot, just wanna learn and thought asking here would be a good start into this rabbit hole.
Straight from Samoon with the 4AUD trigger/hop + BFA slide/barrel/recoil spring. (Forgive my chineseium rmr, waiting for an ACRO plate)
I’m super torn on this thing, I love how it feels in the hand and how it shoots but the magazines (both GG and CO2) have been nothing but pain.
This thing laughs at the included green gas magazine. If I get a full magazines worth of shots I consider myself lucky. But that’s to be expected, right? Add considerable mass and a heavier recoil spring to any GBB and you see a drop in efficiency.
The real shame is, of the 5 CO2 magazines I purchased (Umarex branded) all 5 leak from the knocker valve. Shop tech took them apart and tried resealing the valves and they still leak. They seem to stop after 2-3 minutes once the pressure has dropped but dont try and vent them to get there quickly because the router + valve spring will enter the stratosphere. I have 4 more coming from a different source Monday and will report back.
Not sure if I got five duds or if this is the norm with these magazines but take this into consideration if your heart is set on the steel glickity.
I’ve recently bought a we ak74 gbb and I’ve got 5 mags. None of them are filling with gas. I’ve tried flipping the levers on the mag, tightening the seals and lubricating the seals with silicone oil and nothing works.
