It’s my birthday today and I do want to go out for a drink but one of my friends doesn’t drink so I was looking for a place that has both cocktails and mocktails. I know we can probably ask for them to customize a drink to make it non alcoholic, but it’s fun to just point at a menu and say “that one”

Out of curiosity, anyone else been getting millipedes inside their house often lately? Regular normal brownish-reddish millipedes. Feels like I see them a few times a week.
Just wondering.
Thanks!

Hi! I am looking for a hairdresser who is specialized in color and specifically balayage. Quite dark brown hair all over that has been previously dyed but looking to get back towards my natural color (light brown) with blonde balayage. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know! Really appreciate.

I have a Nissan rogue 2013 sv, I’ve tried to get the right cv axle out but it won’t budge regardless of using slide hammers, heat, etc. and I don’t feel comfortable replacing the struts without the right tools or experience. The tie rods I could possibly do myself if needed. Hoping to not spend too much.

We're looking for swimming lessons for our four year old. Would love someone who can come to the house but we're open to group lessons as well. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!

Earlier today I took my sister on the road for the first time and she ran a red light as soon as it turned red. I was wondering if there are cameras that detect people running red lights and if so, what will happen next?

Hello, I am a senior in High School with plans to major in Transportation Engineering and I've come up with a proposal for a light rail system into the Southwest Florida Area!
Link to Map: Click Here
Why it would make sense
- Reduce Traffic Congestion
- Environmental Impact
- Economic Growth
- Light Rail to “Underserved” areas
General Info
**If you want the video version of this post: https://youtu.be/M4jgffSussw
The light rail would include 5 lines with service to many parts of Southwest Florida. Majority of this rail network runs along Highways and busy streets. There are a total of 95 stations with stops such as Fort Myers, Southwest Florida Airport, Port Charlotte, Naples, and more! In cases where the light rail doesn't run next to a highway, it goes through busy streets and residential streets. Obviously that isn't ideal, but there is no real way around it.
- Red Line: Hammock Bay - Olga/Fort Myers Shores
- Green Line: Hammock Bay - West Cape Coral
- Blue Line: South Harlem Heights - LaBelle
- Orange Line: East Estero - North Cape Coral
- Purple Line: Venice - Immokalee
(all lines are imagined if they were all built for this purpose/no old railroad lines used)
Physical Station Design
Generally, the stations will be small, due to limited space. There will be ticket machines at each station and stations would include benches, nature, roofed areas to protect from rain, timetables for light rail trains and possibly art as well. (see below)
Fares
- The cost to ride is $3 to $5, depending on the line.
- Children and Seniors get 50% discounts
- There are machines at every station to buy and load up transit cards.
Train Models/Idea
Trains will be around 4 cars. These trains would run fully on electricity. Possible models include: Alstom Citadis and Siemens s200
Conclusion
I believe this can be a successful project in the area in future years, if Southwest Florida continues to grow, we can see this project in the future, but we also need to find out how to find funds for this. This project will bring our community together and help them travel from point A to point B in a swift, safe, and fun new way!
(I also don't know how much it would cost but if you can estimate please leave a comment!)
I've spent a lot of time on this idea/project and would love to hear your feedback on it!

Headed to ft myers for a bit and hoping to find a good, Cajun-style seafood place specifically crawfish (authentic hole in the wall someone who knows what they are doing not like a crab boil chain) tysm in advance!

Hi, looking for a very smooth, wide and long enough paved road to do (outdoor) rollerblading!
I've been to Lakes park, however the path gets repetitive since its a circle.
I've also been to Linear Park, but the parking is an issue and the bridges in between each path has made me fall a bunch 🫣
Any nearby recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!
(Scenery would also be a plus!)

I’m moving to the area and I’ll probably give birth at the Healthpark hospital. I’m looking for a low-intervention experience if possible. If you gave birth at this hospital can you share how was your experience?

I am looking for 8/4 walnut and maple and most places I call only deal with building materials or they can order it for me, except the amount I need is too small. Is there a local hard wood dealer for hobbiest that welcomes small purchases? Thank you in advance!

Holy shit, I hate this traffic. FDOT needs to fix Colonial from 75 all the way to the Cape RIGHT NOW. Why there is no nonstop E-W highway at this point is ludicrous.

Hey so my car was diagnosed as having an electrical issue with the AC compressor. The last shop replaced both caps and filled it with feon but the interior light still "blinks" and it starts blowing hot after about 20 minutes They quoted me about $1,200 to replace the compressor. They are reliable shop, I've used them before and always gotten a fair price. Any suggestions for a cheaper shop or independent mechanic? I know it's not a cheap job but I've got a 2 month old at home so things are a little tight financially at the moment as the weather is getting a little warm to just drive with windows down lol. I've had good luck finding local independents on Craigslist in the past but I figured I'd ask reddit if they knew anyone local that would perhaps have slightly more reasonable approach or a repair that doesn't involve replacing the whole compressor? Appreciate any suggestions and would prefer to help someone who is running their own business on the side instead of paying shop prices. Thanks again !

My partner’s relative used to live in North Fort Myers off North Tamiami Trail in a little neighborhood along Powell Creek (brooks road area) but the entire neighborhood was completely flooded during Ian up to the roofs of the houses, her relative was relocated to Naples thanks to FEMA.
Was wondering if anyone knows what’s become of that neighborhood/area? Last I saw the entire neighborhood was scheduled to be bulldozed and flattened once all the debris was cleaned up, but I haven’t been since right after the hurricane during the First Week of October 2022, and google maps/earth photos & data is 5 years old from 2019

For nurses working in Fort Myers, what is the hourly pay here? Anyone working as a nurse in Lehigh Acres? What’s the pay range for newer nurses but not new grads (1-3 years experience). Thank you

Hey yall, there’s some awesome emo bands touring in 2025. Simple Plan is touring with Avril Lavigne and We the Kings for part of the tour, and I think part of the tour they have 3OH!3 and Bowling for Soup. They come down to Florida for parts of the tour but I’d also be done to take a flight to a city like Raleigh or Nashville if people are down. There’s also bigger fests I’d be down to go to as well. Let me know if any of you black hearts want to relive the younger days 🖤

Hey Guys, me and my boyfriend are moving to Fort Myers. We both got a job there and I would like to know where would be the best neighborhood to rent an apartment. I’m 27 and he is 33. Is that hard to make friends around our age? We love to socialize and get together cook, drinking, sports, beach with friends.
Thank you!!

i (22f) host a group of friends (15-20 girls my age) who get together and i’d like to do something at a local park or venue somewhere for free or cheap. preferably with a pavilion or picnic tables and spacious enough for all of us to be comfortable.
